In addition to his patients and staff, he has the benefit of a valuable working relationship with Dr. Catherine Woo of Riverdale Family Orthodontics. Together, the two orthodontists have a combined five Ivy League degrees between them. Dr. Woo shares Dr. Polans patient-first philosophy, and dedication to providing the very best in orthodontic treatment options. What sets Dr. Woo apart is her dedication to her chosen craft, as evidenced by her board certification. In addition to her certification by the American Board of Orthodontics, Dr. Woo is also a member of a variety of other organizations, including the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontics, the Bronx Dental Society and the Northeastern Society of Orthodontics.
Dr. Woo created Riverdale Family Orthodontics with a focus on teamwork. Not only has she worked hard to build the best team possible as part of her staff, she has a unique working relationship with Dr. Sam Polan of Tuckahoe Family Orthodontics. Like Dr. Woo, Dr. Polan is Ivy League trained, and between the two of them, they have five Ivy League degrees. Dr. Polan and staff did an amazing job with two of my kids (he advised that my 3rd didn't need braces...never expected to hear that from an orthodontist). While my eldest had fairly basic orthodontic needs, my other child had numerous challenges with her teeth and a significant overbite. I appreciated that Dr. Polan took a conservative approach to see which issues would resolve themselves with minimal intervention, saving her a great deal of discomfort and me additional cost. Her teeth now look amazing. Everyone in his office is super helpful and they worked with me to maximize affordability.

Tuckahoe Family Orthodontics is the best dental experience you can possibly have. Dr. Polan walks you through each appointment and ensures you know what you are getting out of each visit. Additionally - he is so gentle when it comes to your teeth, which I happen to find so important. Dr. Polan is very friendly and so good that I'm now taking my son for some work on his teeth (he is 10). Not to mention, the friendly staff is just above the rest. Peter (office manager) greets you with a friendly face each time and is always eager to help. I highly recommend to anyone seeking a new orthodontist. I am currently finishing up my first year with Invisalign and my smile has changed significantly. I am so happy with the results!!!

I go to this orthodontist and its AMAZING!!! Im going to be getting my braces off soon and my teeth look sooooooo much better then they did 2 years ago. And the process isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. And the staff is so friendly and helpful!

Dr. Polan and his staff here are incredible! I trusted Dr. Polan completely with my Invisalign journey and he was so, so patient working with me through the multiple rounds of aligners and adjustments I had to go through. Dr. Polan is so professional, answers every single question I ask, and explains everything to me in a way I can understand. Additionally, all of his office staff is so nice and kind, from the dental assistants to the administrative staff (Regina and Peter are amazing)! I am happy to be done with my Invisalign but sad to leave them behind. I actually got my Invisalign attachments off one week before my wedding, and my smile in my photos are 100% a product of their work! I cannot recommend Dr. Polan and Tuckahoe Family Orthodontics enough to anyone who is looking for orthodontic work for themself or their family!

My son just got his braces a month go. This was the first place I went to when I started looking for an Orthodontist. As soon as I walked in I got a very good vibe and after interacting with the staff and Dr. Polan I left there knowing that this was where my son would get his braces. I did go to others but didn't get the same feeling. My son even told me that he wanted to go to Dr. Polan. So far so good. The staff is friendly, and knowledgeable. Dr. Polan is great, I love how kind, warm and friendly he is. All I know is that I am beyond happy that I chose this place. I highly recommend them. Update: My son just finished his treatment. I am beyond happy with the results. His teeth look great. Thank you so much Dr. Polan and staff. Once again I am so happy that I chose this practice. Dr. Polan is the best and so are his staff. They are all so nice that it made my sons experience a great one. I more then highly recommend this practice.
