A lifelong resident of Oakland, Angie has been a Front Desk Associate since 2018 and may be one of the friendly voices youll encounter on the phone or at our office. My favorite thing about working is interacting with and helping the patients! I also really enjoy spending time with my coworkers. Angie likes to paint and draw in her spare time and also coaches young cheerleaders in Oakland.
Amy has been a chair side dental assistant with Dr. Tsubota since 2018 and always finds a way to connect with patients despite the layers of PPE, masks and shields she wears. I love interacting with the patients at the office, making them smile and having a laugh with my coworkers! Outside of the office Amy loves to spend time with her family and friends. She is currently studying nursing at William Paterson University!
Gabi has been a dental assistant with us since 2014 when she was attending IHA. She is now in her final year of pre med studies at Gettysburg College. She is a ball of energy and an invaluable employee who has been with us thru thick and thin. I love that I really get to know the patients personally. Not only does that improve my relationship with them and their relationship with Dr. Tsubota, but I also get to learn about other cultures, recipes, and different stores and restaurants they recommend that I otherwise would not know. I also love my coworkers and the relationship I have with each of them!
Corrine has a beautiful singing voice Corrine has cantered at OLPH and Immaculate Conception parishes Corrine and Dr. Tsubota are founding participants in the Oakland Folk Festival which ran from 2010 to 2019
Dawn has been working for Dr. Tsubota since 1990 and has been a foundation to the hygiene staff. Always ready to laugh and welcome patients into her hygiene room, Dawn has made friends with everyone she treats. I enjoy working with my patients and all the girls in the office. We have a lot of laughs & we make a good team. When away from the office, Dawn enjoys cooking, gardening, and spending time with friends and family. She loves the outdoors and the beach, and loves going to concerts and listening to all types of music, especially country.
Dawn started as a dental assistant with Dr. Tsubota at the age of 17 Ive lived in Oakland for most of my life and recently moved to Pompton Plains. I have a 17 year old son and about to have 2 more stepchildren, 11 & 18 when i get married next year!
Jaelene is our newest employee, starting in 2020 and spending time with us when she is not pursuing her B.S. in Biology at Ramapo College of New Jersey. She is currently the Orientation Program Student Coordinator, a Peer Advisor, one of two Peer Facilitation Interns, and the VP of the Filipino-American Student Association. Jaelene is a natural when it comes to dental assisting and is considering a career in Dentistry. I really enjoy the work environment and everyone in the office. Everyone is very kind and welcoming. Its fun coming to work, meeting new people, and learning all at the same time. When not at the office, and away from her school work, Jaelene relaxes in front of Netflix, playing with her 2 dogs, and hanging out with her family. Recently shes loving playing Animal Crossing on her Nintendo Switch.
Today is another day to get better. I think that everyday I try my best to do my best and every day signifies a new way for me to do so. In everything I do, especially at work, I make sure to do all that I can that day and then some. Self-growth is constant and the possibilities to grow are endless.
Julia is in one of two sister pairs in our office and half of the Kunz twin team. Shes been at our office since 2019 and so full of energy she seems to operate in fast forward! What I like most about my job is that I get to interact with patients! You dont know what questions or concerns youll have to field but I enjoy the challenge and feel a true sense of accomplishment when I can help someone! In her free time Julia bakes, reads, plays golf and the piano (but not at the same time!) She also enjoys biking, playing board games with her family and has recently developed an interest in photography.
Angela has been a faithful employee since 2014 when she was attending IHA. Angela is now in her Senior year at Felician University working towards a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. You can find Angela behind the front desk, always ready to help our patients with a smile and a calm manner. I enjoy helping patients solve problems and providing them with the information theyre seeking. Her favorite pastimes are playing board games with family and friends. Angela also likes attending concerts, especially rock shows.
I love dogs and one day Id like to work with them. Charlene is a talented Chocolatier Charlene and her husband have visited almost all 50 states. Well see four more when we go to the Pacific Northwest in the summer of 2021!
Joanna has been a dental assistant alongside Dr. Tsubota since 2019 and is one of the most hard working and organized employees weve ever encountered. She is the other half the twin team with her sister, Julia. Joanna is quiet by nature but dont let that fool you! You will be pleasantly surprised by her wit and humor. In her free time, Joanna relishes baking tasty treats, especially cookies and cakes. She enjoys sewing and can frequently be found reading a good book. She also enjoys hiking and doing anything outdoors. What I like about my job is that everything is organized and that I am exposed to new and different experiences!

I love Dr. Tsubota! I've been going to him my entire life because he's simply the best. Dr. Tsubota listens and cares. He narrates what he's doing as he's doing it, and always makes sure his patients are comfortable and healthy. I'd give him 10 stars if I could!

Dr. Tsubota has been my dentist my whole life. He truly puts his patients first and genuinely cares about their well-being. Going to his office is always a pleasant experience, his staff is always warm, kind and welcoming. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Tsubota!

I've known for 30+ years that this man is a genius in his field. He never makes a mistake or takes a shortcut. My wife and I grew up in old New England so we never saw a dentist until we were 21. Lots of things go wrong by then. This last visit was to replace a 35 year old crown for my wife. Pain-free and fit perfectly! After my first visit to Dr. TSUBOTA I have never considered going anywhere else. Mike H.

I have been going to Dr. Tsubota for many years. My experience there has always been great; exceptional. Dr. Tsubota and his staff are always very professional, personable, and efficient. All work I've had done there has been completely painless. Dr. Tsubota always takes the time to very thoroughly explain any problems and/or potential problems, and any necessary work. I highly recommend Tsubota Dental Care.

Always a great experience. I moved to Fairlawn and have dentists as close as a 5 minute walk from my new location, I still go back to Dr Tsubota's. When I find a good medical practitioner I'll try to stick with them, these days they are rare. I'd like to also add that I've had a mistrust of dentists over the years (I've been to 5) because I felt they would fake/exaggerate work needed to be done. Dr Tsubota definitely does not. On my first visit he found problems to fix, but subsequent visits have been clean with no issues. Previous Dentists would find a "cavity" on every cleaning.

After going to another dentist in Oakland for decades, I decided it was time to go elsewhere as I didn't feel my dentist was truly concerned about my teeth and well being. I could not be more impressed with Dr. Tsubota's and his staff. He took the time to provide deep insight into what is happening with my teeth, with the utmost care and professionalism. I'd give Dr. Tsubota and his team 10 stars if I could!

Dr. Tsubota is the most HONEST dentist I have EVER seen in my entire life! He is professional, compassionate, thorough and kind as kind can be!! The "feel" in the office is so calming and welcoming and I wholeheartedly recommend anyone who is doubting their dentist to see Dr. Tsubota. After one visit you will know that you are in the right place. It only took one visit for me to know that I will NEVER go to another dentist office until Dr. tsubota retires. His staff went above and beyond to help me as well and they are all a joy to have to deal with. Make no mistake that Dr. tsubota is dentist to see!!

My family and I have been going to Tsubota's for years now and for good reason. The staff are very kind and have always delivered quality dental service. Their persistentence with fixing dental issues is remarkable. I personally cannot thank Doctor Tsubota enough for the help over the years, and would recommend his talent to anyone.

I went into Dr. Tsubota's practice for the first time ever during the pandemic (once he was given the okay to open). I'm a healthcare worker and even I was incredibly impressed by the protocol taken by the office to ensure the safety of their patient. I went in on time, was X-rayed quickly and efficiently. The doctor looked over my X-rays and once he had gathered some info, I was brought in the room for a consultation. Holy moly I have never been more impressed by the thoroughness of explanation. He clearly went over every issue I have. We have been talking even after hours about my treatment plan. He is so efficient, and you can tell he genuinely cares about his patients. I've had two kids and I didn't even feel like my OB cared to this extent. His office is clean, his staff is attentive and kind, and I literally don't have a bad thing to say. Highly recommend this practice!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Tsubota since 2015 from a colleague who referred me to him because of his excellent work, calm demeanor and his amazing staff. There have been many reasons why Dr. Tsubota is the ONLY dentist that I have continuously gone to for the past 5 1/2 years in all of my 45 years of life! I am diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Social Anxiety Disorder and thus become very anxious having to go anywhere never mind "the dentist." However, there has never been one appointment that I have ever felt uneasy. This is because of Dr. Tsubota and his staff. He goes over and beyond to make sure that I am comfortable, fully aware of what he is planning on doing, never feeling rushed and is always assuring me that everything will go well. His number one priority is his patients and their comfort level. He is a perfectionist at his craft and takes his time to make sure that all of his work is exactly the way he wants it. I never feel like he is rushing his work to get to his next patient. He has done a lot of work on me and I have to say, that I get many compliments on my beautiful veneers! Thank you Dr. Tsubota! Further, it would be a disservice if I didn't recognize Dr. Tsubota' s talented staff. The ladies echo the same kind-hearted, caring, calmness and excellence that shines each time I enter the office. If you are looking for a dentist that is kind-hearted, empathetic, honest, and a master of his craft than Dr. Tsubota and his staff are my NUMBER 1 recommendation. With the new state regulations, the office has gone over and beyond the call of what is required by law. He cares about the heath of his staff and his patients and for that I thank you. It's a great peace of mind knowing that whenever I enter this office, we are asked on the phone a few very important questions about our health, the office itself is exceptionally sanitized, temperature is taken immediately and a nice pump of antibacterial is in the hands of a staff member at our convenience (all while having a welcome smile)! I can only say it's like an extended family that I look forward to seeing even if I need a root canal or just a quick cleaning. Thank you again Dr. Tsubota for being one of the most remarkable and remarkable of any dentists that I have ever come across.
