Dr. Thomas Massey Willingham graduated from Birmingham-Southern College with degrees in biology and psychology. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. After dental school, Dr. Massey completed an additional two-year residency program specializing in pediatric dentistry.
Dr. Rylee graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Alabama with a degree in biomedical sciences. As a member of the OKU dental honor society, she graduated withher Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, where she also completed an additional general practice residency program with emphasis on care for the medically complex patient.

I'm sure the dentist is completely fine, and I have heard plenty of good reviews about this place. However, my experience with the reception staff as an *existing customer* was awful enough to make me switch dentists. Stay away.

I took my 4 yo and 18 mo for a cleaning, and they wanted to take first set of X-rays for the oldest. The cleaning itself went great with both girls(I have never had a bad experience with any of the hygienists in three years, they have all had the patients of saints), but when Dr. Massey came to take a look at their teeth and the X-rays, he decided in about a minute that my oldest needed to have an appointment scheduled at Children's where she would be put under anesthesia and have 8 stainless steel crowns put on each of her molars due to cavities beneath the gum line. I'm in complete shock, trying to keep a hold of the now very sleepy/wiggly toddler and not alarm my 4 yo. I barely had a chance to ask a single question before he was off to the next patient. The hygienist then leads me like a zombie back to the front to wait for the scheduler to be available, I spent more time in her office trying to wrangle the toddler than I did in conference with the dentist. He never offered an explanation as to how these cavities developed, what we could do to prevent them getting any worse, what the actual procedure at children's would entail, what aftercare would look like, and he NEVER mentioned an alternative treatment option. I spent at most 5 minutes in his company, my daughter has never been under anesthesia. I never even had a chance to formulate a proper response before it felt like we were out the door for the office to get to lunch time. I feel this is a drastic "first/only option" and he took no time whatsoever to make sure I felt comfortable with his treatment plan. I no longer feel comfortable taking my girls to this office, and will be finding another dentist ASAP

Staff here is very nice. Once arrived at the appointment we were taken back promptly and serviced. Kids enjoyed the experience and changed their prospective on dental care.

Trussville Pediatric Dentistry is the place to take your child if you want friendly, caring customer service. My son does not warm up easily to people, but he had no problem with talking with the staff. I thank the staff for making him feel special!

Obviously they deal with busy little toddlers, like mine can be daily & you aren't looked at sideways for chasing your kid through the playhouse in the waiting area. It's also so nice how accommodating they are especially when your baby isn't super excited about having their mouth inspected from a stranger. I am so glad I chose this office for my child!
