Yep. Its true. Dr. Mark Truman has 6 kids. 6! Thats almost a baseball team. Having this many children is proof that Dr. Truman loves being around people. In fact, everyone who works with him feels like hes their BFF. Luckily, no one has started fighting over who his favorite is yet. Seriously though, everyone who walks into our office cant help but feel an instant connection to Dr. Truman. This is why so many people feel right at home when they come to our office.
Whats especially neat about Dr. Truman is that hes from here. He even graduated from Clark High School! Pretty cool, huh? Well, after high school graduation, Dr. Truman headed to BYU for college and then to UCLA where he graduated from dental school with honors! He remained at UCLA and pursued a specialty in orthodontics and completed a post doctoral course accredited by the ADA.
But, we digress, between all his education he even lived in Spain for 2 years to immerse himself in the culture and learned to speak Spanish and roll his Rs like a local. When his schooling was complete, he returned to Las Vegas and opened his practice in 2003.
Fun Fact about Dr Truman: The reason he decided to become an orthodontist goes all the way back to when his younger brother got braces. I always thought it was so fascinating that teeth and bites could be changed so dramatically. Not only that, Dr. Truman says, My neighbor growing up was an orthodontist and I always looked up to him and the way he ran his business.To say that Dr. Truman is now living his dream is truly an understatement. Dr. Mark loves everything there is about helping people get the smiles of their dreams and to keep smiling!
Dr. Joe Dougherty loves people. He loves making them laugh, making them smile, and most importantly making them feel confident. Thats why Dr. Joe loves being an orthodontist in Las Vegas, Nevada. Not only does it let him combine his love for art and science, but it also gives him the chance to help people. And that means more to Dr. Joe than anything.
Growing up in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, Dr. Joe was a busy kid, participating in basketball, theater, and even madrigal choir. Having all of these different interests has really helped him connect with his patients on a personal level today.
Fun Fact about Dr. Joe: He first earned a B.A. in Neuroscience from Carthage College a serious accomplishment in and of itself but then also competed as part of the NCAA Mens Volleyball team while he was there, too. After graduation, he went on to receive both M.B.S and D.M.D degrees at Midwestern Universitys College of Dental Medicine in Downers Grove, Illinois. Then, it was off to the city of neon lights and desert Las Vegas where he completed his training at Roseman University, earning a Specialty Diploma in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics as well as an MBA.
When Dr. Joe isnt creating amazing smiles for his patients or shooting hoops, you can find him exploring the surrounding area with his best friend and wife, Alissa, whom he met when he was just 10 years old. I guess you could say when you know, you know, right? Well, Dr. Joe certainly knew Alissa was meant for him and in 2013 they were married at Disney World.

Did my son's braces here. Dealt with a few issues during the process... but the after is why I'm doing a one star review. They sell you an additional retainer at the end for $150. Then if you lose it... it is $440. Ok fine. Expensive but it is what it is. But here is where the one star comes in... at this same time they sell you for $880 unlimited replacements for 5 years. So... if you as a business can sell unlimited retainers for $880 for 5 years, but one is $440... something is off. As a company you know it is teenagers mostly with retainers that they lose and aren't as responsible as us sappy parents would like. If your net profit allows you to offer $880... for 5 years... unlimited... then it can't actually cost you that much. Here's the other part that makes it worse... when you get the braces off they only offer a second retainer for additional $150. NEVER said anything about $880 "insurance". Wow. Hope you guys revisit this and meet the parents in the middle. Or at least give us all options upfront.

I was referred to Dr. Truman by my sister-in-law who got her husband and two daughters braces here. I brought my son for his first phase and within two months we saw results. My son is now getting his second phase of treatment with them because they're that awesome! The staff is always nice and welcoming. Now there's an additional ortho and he's amazing as well. Plus they have a nice game room. Check them out!

Best orthodontist office ever! The orthodontists are fantastic and explain every step, the staff is wonderful, casting, and always seem to be happy to be there, and my daughter doesn't hate going which is a bonus! Beautiful office with a new one opening up even closer to my house! This is our (anticipated) second round of braces, and I never divisor l considered going anywhere else. Such a great experience!

I highly recommend Truman Orthodontics. Dr. Truman & Dr. Joe are the best. My son had his braces put on about a year ago. It was projected that he would be in full orthodontics for at least two years. He has followed the regimented home care very well--so well in fact that he might be able to get his braces off soon, about a year early! I am amazed at the difference orthodontics has made in not just my son's teeth, but his entire face, not to mention his blossoming self confidence. This transformation has truly been life changing. Since the consultation appointment, everyone, especially Sarah Joy (her name fits her perfectly-- she really is a joy) have been more than helpful, very kind, accommodating, and very knowledgeable. My son and I are so excited about his new and improved dentition. He now has more incentive to do his very best with all his home dental care needs. His goal is not only straight teeth, but healthy teeth too and he knows it is up to him to maintain his new handsome smile. Since his teeth are straight now with an almost (soon to be) perfect bite it is so much easier for him to keep his teeth clean. His oral health is top notch! I am happy to know that I made the right choice with Dr. Truman, Dr. Joe, and the wonderful team. We are forever grateful for the exemplary service and treatment they have provided us.

I highly recommend Truman Orthodontics. My daughter just completed her treatment of several years duration and Dr. Truman and the entire staff have been great the whole process. Dr. Joe is a recent addition to the practice, and our interactions with him were all outstanding as well. My daughter had some dental snafus, including impacted canines and an absent adult tooth, but Dr. Truman made us feel comfortable from the very beginning, as these problems are actually pretty common and he has a great deal of experience managing them. All her teeth are now in place and her smile looks great! Dr. Truman is a great doctor. He listens to concerns, answers questions, and has a nice treatment style based on both knowledge and years of experience. Even though the office is very busy, he would always spend enough time with us to ensure everything was addressed. The orthodontic assistants are skilled and friendly, and the front office staff is efficient and friendly. Lisa at the front desk has years of experience with the practice, and is not only super friendly, efficient, and great at all the front office stuff, but she is also extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of orthodontics, the specifics of braces, and evaluation and treatment for most problems. She is always a pleasure to work with and willing to help in any way possible. Overall, Truman Orthodontics is outstanding. We are very pleased with our experience there.

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I love that they are so through and always communicate everything that's going on perfectly. After dealing with many other places that never felt like they cared it's so great to see a TRULY amazing staff and orthodontic crew be so awesome. My grandfather was a orthodontist and since his passing I never felt comfortable in a dental office until I came here. It feels like childhood memories of family. Definately recommend.

Sarah Joy is awesome! Super friendly, kind and very gentle with her work. She was also very precise and informative, giving many helpful tips and tricks and explaining things thoroughly throughout the process. She did a fabulous job installing some attachments to my teeth in a timely matter and with great precision. She is great!
