Dry mouth, also known as xerostomia, is a condition in which patients suffer from a dry, uncomfortable feeling in their mouth due to reduced saliva production. Saliva is essential to moisten and clean our mouths, and also prevents oral infection by reducing bacteria. If left untreated, dry mouth syndrome can increase ones risk of gum disease, tooth decay and other serious dental conditions.
If you find yourself suffering from symptoms of dry mouth syndrome, including frequent thirst, a dry feeling in your mouth and throat, or difficulty speaking and swallowing, get in touch with TrueCare Dentistry. Dr. Patrick Lawrence can help you find a treatment for your dry mouth by talking through your lifestyle choices and evaluating various factors that may be contributing to your oral discomfort.
It is possible that a medication may be the cause of your dry mouth, and if so, our Raleigh-area dentists will work with you to adjust your dosage or find an alternative medication. They can also prescribe an oral rinse to help improve your saliva flow. In the meantime, drinking plenty of water, breathing through your nose rather than your mouth, and chewing on sugar-free gum can help alleviate dryness in your mouth.

This place is great! I just had a filling come out and they got me in right away and fixed it. This is my favorite dentist I've ever had. Even though I moved to another town, I drive extra to come here.

What a fantastic place to get your dental needs met. The staff here is super friendly, professional, and caring, specially Dr. Cucchi and dental hygienist Olivia. They go above and beyond with their tasks. They make you feel right at home. While they are completing the task on your teeth, they constantly check up on you and make sure you are doing well. This office is one of those few offices that does not sell you things "just to sell". If they truly think you need it, they will let you know and explain. Overall, they provide excellent patient care! I would recommend this office and recommend getting your teeth cleaned by Olivia and checked by Dr. Cucchi! Update 9/1/22: I broke part of my tooth while biting something hard. I called Truecare Dentistry and they were so quick on getting me an appointment as soon as possible. The day of the appointment went phenomenal. My tooth looks good as new, as if nothing had every happens to it. Thank you to all the staff at Truecare Dentistry!!! (Pictures of before and after are uploaded) 9/8/22: Today I came in to get my teeth cleaned and checked. Ms. Olivia was so wonderful and gentle with my teeth and gums. She made my teeth feel so clean and so "new". She even went the extra mile to educate me on flossing and demonstrated it. Dr. Cucchi was so nice and professional. She took a look at my teeth and X-rays. She gave me some great suggestions and showed me why. Thank you again to these two amazing ladies and to Truecare Dentistry!!!

Dr. Lawrence and his team do an excellent job taking care of my teeth. The office is friendly and well run; they never make me wait. I trust Dr Lawrence when he tells me I do or do not need a filling, a crown replacement, a spot he'll watch where a cavity might be developing. I never feel any pain during any procedure.

As always wonderful people wonderful dental care. I've been going to True Care for 29years. At first I saw Dr. Ferry who was wonderful and now Dr. Lawrence. I will never ever go anywhere else. The entire staff is incredible.

TrueCare Dentistry is absolutely the best. I have been going there since the early 90s and have always had great experiences. My teeth and gums were in terrible shape when I started there, and now, at nearly 70, I still have every tooth and have great dental hygiene. My checkups now are routine. Not only have they taken great care of me, they made sure I knew what I needed to do to improve my hygiene. It has been a great partnership for nearly 30 years and I am so thankful I found them.
