Dr. Helmi's philosophy is to provide the highest quality of care with minimally invasive techniques with a focus on preventive treatment. She believes in treating every patient as family, with compassion and with their best interest in mind. Her treatment planning methods are centered on patient's specific needs and desires. And her ultimate goal is to provide her patients with a better quality of life by giving them the ability to comfortably eat the foods they love or to smile with more confidence.
Dr. Helmi believes in giving, volunteering and providing for the community. Her favorite quote is: As we work to create light for others, we naturally light our own way.. She has volunteered her medical expertise as part of a dental mission trip in Honduras to provide free dental care to those in need. And Strives to be an active member of her community here in Illinois.
Dr. Helmi received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. Prior to Dental School she attended York University where she honored her studies in the field of Kinesiology and Health Sciences.
Since then, Dr. Helmi is continually expanding her education to keep up with the highest advancements in the field of dentistry. She believes, armed with knowledge and intentionality she can improve patient experience and clinical quality.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Helmi enjoys spending time with family and friends. She actively participates in running half-marathons and stair climb challenges. She enjoys reading, yoga, and is a huge swim enthusiast. Her future sport goal is to complete a triathlon.

I had a very professional staff today caring for the health of my gums and teeth at Tru Family Dental in Palos IL. They were not able to help out today but they referred me to the implant specialist thanks all.

I am definitely one of those people that has anxiety at the dentist. I haven't had a proper cleaning since the beginning of COVID, and, my teeth, without sugar coating it, were pretty jacked up with plaque and my gums were not looking great. I needed an intensive cleaning today, and the AMAZING dental assistant still somehow made it the most stress free dental visit of my life. Afterwards, the dentist looked over my teeth and examined my bite, and without me having to go into any detail at all, she immediately saw the issue with my bite and started devising a plan of attack to correct all of the TMJ issues I've had for years. No dentist I've been to in the last 20 years has bothered to check anything past my gums. I've really never felt like I was in better hands. I'm going to be recommending this practice to all of my friends that get nervous at the dentist because they deserve to have a positive experience like this for once! I'm feeling confident that I'll be able to have a healthy smile again, thank you so much!

I couldn't imagine a dentist office more convenient. I absolutely love Dr.Helmi. The entire staff was amazing. They started my bridge the same day I came. Incredibly amazing people and amazing office.

This was my first visit to Tru family Dental, and I was absolutely impressed with their level of cleanliness and care. A special thank you to Rene, the Dental Hygienist, for the best oral cleaning I have ever received at a dental office! I greatly appreciated her advice and genuine concern with my dental care! I just love this place from the doctor and the entire staff they are very pleasant they are very kind they are warm I just love this place and they do a great job on your mouth even though it could be a little painful. an a little of this and that , but they make it very comfortable for you to endure any pain . thank you thank you
