Redding is my kind of town. Not too big, not too small, with plenty of outdoor activities available year round. I was born and raised here, attendingLiberty Christian High School until testing out my senior year and progressing immediately to an undergraduate education atPacific Union College. After completing my BS Biology degree I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery atLoma Linda University School of Dentistry. Upon graduation I took a position teaching at the university, spending both clinical and didactic time with freshmen, sophomore, junior, and senior dental students. Additionally I volunteered my time at a local community dental clinic and oversaw dental hygiene students learning patient care on those who could not afford treatment elsewhere.
In 2010 I moved back to Redding and after associating in a couple of offices started my own practice, sharing office space with fellow Loma Linda alumni Dr. Shawn Wilson. During this time I was able to design and build my own ideal practice, a process that took sixteen months from start to finish. In January 2014, I made the move to my newlocation which was well worth it given the numerous compliments that patients have made since.
In my off time I enjoy fishing, hiking, and camping in our local abundant wilderness areas. Winter time brings downhill skiing. Writing andpersonal finance are also interests of mine and occasionally I pen a financial piece for the investment site Seeking Alpha and am the Vice President ofthe local writer's guild.
Mypersonal treatment philosophy would be best described as 'Golden Rule Dentistry'. While all of your treatment options will be presented during diagnosis, my recommendations will be what I would want done to myself if our roles were reversed. Additionally I am always interested in trying to save as much natural tooth structure as possible while working on your teeth. Natural tooth structure generally outlasts our artificial materials and I prefer to do a procedure once than over again later. I support the use of silver fillings and gold restorations in certain situations. While they may be less esthetic, from experience I know that they will last longer than white composite fillings and be less abrasive than porcelain.

I met Dr. Rocky when I was going through a "tooth crisis ". I was in a lot of pain and I had a series of difficult experiences with a dentist in another state that damaged my tooth. Dr. Raki was thoughtful, caring and considerate of my situation. He explained what "happened" with the work performed thoroughly and resolved my issue. He was kind, professional and thorough. Dr Raki is not a "fluff" kind of guy... he provides what patients need without a bunch of frills and excess! I appreciate his straightforward way of doing business and respectful consideration of the financial cost of dental care. He wise and simplistic, clear and direct (in a refreshing way) and offers choices, when available.

My normal dds out on vaca, the nerve. So a visit to DR Racki, with all manner of surgical picks & shovels ready to lay waste to unwanted efluviam, to emerg fill in. The usual toothache with no known reasons. Quick xray shows a broke tooth below the gum line. oh great. He pressure washed the tooth area, gave prescrip for infection. Gotta go to oral surgeon. Point is, this is my 2nd visit to Dr Racki on a no notice can you see me soon request. The first some 6 yrs ago for very similiar tooth issues. I am pleased beyond expression. Dr Raci is a superb dentist, showed me the prob area on big screen xray visual thingee, could see the abcess in vibrant color, an issue in a manner that even i could follow & understand. as dentist visits go, this was a 4 star experience. Highest possible recomendation, i dont even know if he is taking new folks. just sayin. ..

I have extreme anxiety at the dentist due to lots of bad past experiences. Dr. Racki has helped that tremendously. He is extremely kind, and very patient. Stopping without issue anytime he sees me gripping the chair due to even just the sound of the dental tools. I originally went to him just for a second opinion, after another dentist told me I needed tons of work......two years later I still haven't needed any of that work under Dr. Racki's care and my tooth sensitivity is way better.

I find it quite refreshing to know that when I have my appointment, I will be the only patient. You can't get that type of service anywhere else, no matter what you pay. The doctor is very knowledgeable and skilled at dentistry. He has a warm disposition and takes the time to inform his patients about alternative procedures so that the patient has the final decision. I wish he could have been my dentist in the beginning, so that all my procedures would have been pleasant, (if that is possible). Jan is also quite helpful and has a pleasant and warm disposition. Being an older person, I have had my share of unpleasant dental procedures in my lifetime. Doctor Racki has changed my view of dentists. I used to be an anti dentite.

Dr Racki attended my needs even tho his entire staff was off and he did all the work by his lonesome. Very pleased with his attitude, crediblility and concern for my hapless tooth. no one likes dentist visits, but if you are in need, Dr Racki is a top choice.
