For 18 years, Dr. JD Troy has been providing his patients with exceptional comprehensive family dental care. Highly educated, Dr. Troy obtained his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry.
Dr. Troy feels it is important to stay on the cutting-edge of dentistry. Thus, he maintains memberships in many prestigious professional organizations to keep up-to-date on the latest techniques and technology. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association, Pierre Fauchard Academy and the Lower Columbia District Dental Society.
Dr. Troy is married to his wife of 24 years and they have four wonderful children. He enjoys spending his time coaching their youth sports, bee keeping and staying active in his church and community. He also enjoys participating with various Muscular Dystrophy Association fundraisers.
Dr. Kent Large grew up in Hockinson, WA, and graduated from Prairie High School. After graduation from Washington State University with a degree in engineering, he worked throughout the state on many infrastructure projects. While he enjoyed engineering, he wanted to chase his goal of studying dentistry. So, with his very understanding wife, Missy, and their two sons, Jackson and Colby, they moved to southern California so he could attend Western University of Health Sciences. After graduating with his dental degree, they moved back to the Northwest to be closer to friends and family. On the weekends, you will likely see Dr. Large at various sporting events with his two sons or fly-fishing around Southwest Washington. Hes looking forward to continuing the tradition of providing excellent dental cares to the families of Cowlitz County.

Great Dentist!!! I've never had an extraction and went in for 2 extractions today, Dr. Troy numbed me up great. It went so smoothly I thought he forgot to pull the other tooth LOL. But no they were both gone. That was a great experience. Thank You for doing great work. All friendly staff.

I came in for the first time and they were kind and easy to work with. I had to get a tooth recapped (I'm not sure what the real term is called) and the doctor did a great job! I appreciate them!

Went in today for the first time to get checked out. I just recently moved here from SC and this visit was a bit unexpected due to issues in having with my teeth. I hate to say it but I'm terrified of the dentist, lol and my visit today calmed a lot of the fear I had. The tech was wonderful and patient, she explained everything clearly, paused during my cleaning due to a little pain I was having, and was very calming. I've been scheduled to go back for some dental work & to have 2 teeth pulled and I'm not as apprehensive as I would normally be. There was also an issue with my insurance which was addressed and taken care of immediately by the office. I'd definitely recommend coming here if you need a dentist and want courteous friendly staff and fantastic treatment!

This place has bad customer service. I rescheduled my appointment and by mistake the dental office canceled my 4 year old son's appointment. You should have seen the look on his face. Instead of telling whoever you gave his appointment to you made a mistake. We have to find another dentist.

My first visit and what a great group of employees. My hygienist made me feel comfortable and periodically asked if I was still doing good. Dr Troy made me feel very comfortable and visited a few minutes with me before checking my teeth out. What a phenomenal dental clinic and I am so glad I feel comfortable going there. Savanna took care of my cleaning today. First time I have met her. Very professional and friendly. Great tips on how I can do better, albeit she said I was doing great! Dr. Troy is always great. I had a difficult time with a tooth. He didn't give up on it and now it's fine! I highly recommend them!!!

I did t know what to expect because I'd missed two appointments in Arizona becouse of covid. Then i ended getting cocid, spent rwo weeks in the hospital and two weeks in a rehabilitation enter. After i was released fron the rehabilitation center i but my home on the market and sold it. Moved back to Washington State and changed my dental insurance. Troy Family Dental was a wonderful experience. Everyone that works there couldn't be more helpful. They really care about you and made me feel very welcome. Troy Family Dental is a very professional office, everyone is very nice and very caring. Dr Troy has had alot of patience with me. I get very nervous at dentist office's and he has turned that negative feeling into a positive one. The entire office is so polite. I had a very horrible experience at a another dental office, came home and called Troy Family Dental, they got me in 2 days later. Dr Troy fixed a filling done by the other dentist office that was too high, no questions asked - made it more comfortable. Very appreciative of Dr Troy and his staff. Thank you!

Amazing, went to "Smiles" they wanted to do a root canal; Troy fixed my tooth with a filling. I highly recommend Troy Dental. great staff and Dentist. I have found my only Dentist. Recommend strongly to try Troy Dental
