Dr. Rachels knew wholeheartedly from age 14 that he wanted to be a dentist. More than just 'so much noise' it may actually be a symptom of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). OSA happens when the tongue, jaw or even simply the weight of the neck causes the airway to be closed off. This results in the patient stopping breathing periodically through the night and can have severe impact on overall health over time. Both Snoring and Sleep Apnea are often successfully treated with custom dental appliances or CPAP, however, the involvement of a sleep specialist is required to ensure an accurate diagnosis if OSA is suspected.
There are two types of sleep apnea. Central sleep apnea is caused by your brain sending incorrect signals to your muscles in your sleepit usually requires the help of a sleep specialist. Obstructive sleep apnea is the most common form of sleep apnea, and it can often be successfully treated in a dentist's office.
Sleep Apnea Treatment with Oral Appliances Oral appliance therapy is by far the most common and effective treatment for obstructive sleep apnea. There are more than 80 different sleep apnea oral devices on the market today. Similar in appearance to a double retainer, they are designed to either shift the lower jaw forward or retain the tongue to keep it from falling back into the throat. Oral appliances are typically worn at night and are custom fit to each patient

Dr. Rachels and his staff are the absolute best. The office is immaculate and all the equipment looks like state of the art. I've been bringing my kids to see him for over a year and they were so fantastic with my boys that I decided to go ahead and have my teeth examined and cleaned even though it had been more than a few years. Don't hesitate if you are in the same boat, there was no judgement or pain. Just a very professional and pleasant experience and they took the time to go over the xrays and explain everything in as much detail as I wanted. And if I can be perfectly frank, I have been to dentists in the past that have been ready to bust out the drill and get into your wallet even if you didn't really need any procedures. Dr. Rachels, on the other hand, is as honest, professional, and kind as they come. If you are looking for someone you can trust, look no further.

Best experience I've had sitting in a dentist chair. The experience started with first impressions of absolute cleanliness and organization. I called at 9am about a crown that had fallen out. I was sitting in Dr. Rachel's chair by 1 o'clock. He was kind, caring, professional and really proficient at what he does! Pain free experience and I'll never go anywhere else! Do yourself a favor, if you need dental work stop the presses, go to TriStar dental in Franklin.

Moving away from home poses unique challenges, such as finding caring and compassionate doctors and dentists. I don't leave reviews too often, but when I receive exceptional care I believe it's in order. Dr. Rachels and staff provided me with arguably the best care I've had at the dentist. The office is immaculate, staff friendly, hygenist (Danica) careful & courteous, and Dr. Rachels a professional. As long as I live in this town, they will be where my wife and I go! Thanks again!

I had been looking for a great dentist to replace my old lifetime dentist who retired and I was very skeptical with all the new dental offices that are around now. The very first initial phone conversation was very pleasant and informational knowing that they accepted my insurance I was willing to give this office a try. When I arrived Dr. Rachel's was on the phone with my insurance already getting information I thought he was an a assistant lol and when they called me back after a very short wait it was great to see that he was the dentist. It was great to see that he was willing to be hands on and on the phone getting insurance information on a patient.This office is a great place to be treated for dental.The staff always greet you with a nice and friendly smile never have to wait long to be seen. They always try to work with your schedule. The dentist is very professional and sensitive to your needs and situation. The office is always clean and due to this pandemic we are currently going through I have always seen safety measures in place. I would recommend this dental office to any one who is looking for a clean, professional, nice and sensitive dentist. And it's a plus that he is very handsome nice on the eyes to look at while receiving dental services.

I went to Dr. Rachel's office on February 22nd . I had a root canal done . He explained everything that he was doing step by step while he was doing it . I have to go back on March 11 th for my crown . I had the best experience that I ever had at a Dentist office . Dr. Rachels and his staff are very welcoming and treated me like family . If you are looking for a new Dentist I highly recommend Dr. Rachels and his staff. Office is very clean , they take all precautions because of the COVID . They are all Awesome . Thank you

A GREAT experience. I went in super uncomfortable from a filling I had somewhere else. Dr. Rachels fixed it and I walked out feeling so much better. He took xrays and explained them to me, talked through it, was upfront about the cost and told me what I did and did not need. Super honest and compassionate. I never felt like they were just wanting my money! He took his time with me to answer all my questions and I never felt rushed. The rest of the staff was equally kind. Hands down the BEST first appointment I have ever had at a dentist. Cannot recommend enough.

The office staff was wonderful in explaining what to expect for my first visit. The rooms are set up to minimize having to move around which made for an easy experience. Both the hygienist and the dentist took time to go over my assessment, cleaning and recommendations for continued care without making me feel rushed. They were respectful of my time and concerns, and I am excited for my next visit! I would absolutely encourage anyone in the market for a great dentist to give Dr. Rachels and his staff the opportunity to earn your continued business!!

Hands-down the best first-appointment experience I've had with a dentist in 20+ years. Super clean and safe office. Everything 100% sanitized. Friendly staff. And a Doctor who was truly looking out for both my teeth and my wallet. He was 100% transparent about the one bit of work that I really did need to have done versus others that can wait. X-rays, pictures and a full review so there is zero doubt/ambiguity. An honest and skillful dentist who clearly cares about keeping patients for the *long-term*. Highly recommend.
