I like interacting with our patients and learning about their lives. Our talks help me understand their concerns and where they can make positive changes in their home care. I assess a patients oral health, take X-rays, and perform nonsurgical periodontal therapy. I also assist Dr. Washington with patient care. A lot of my time is focused on patient education. Im from Smithfield and love spending time with my husband and baby boy. My favorite pastimes include running, hiking, and going to the beach.
I enjoy talking with my patients and learning about their activities and interests. That helps me better understand how to help them improve their home dental hygiene routines. Its a pleasure to see the improvement in each persons oral health and smile after cleanings and surgical procedures. I educate patients about their unique dental concerns and support them in making healthy changes. Im married, with oneteenager whos now driving(eeek!). We are very family-oriented and spend most of our free time together. We enjoy four-wheeling and watching our sons sporting events.
With a deep understanding that each patients periodontal needs and concerns are unique, Dr. Washington takes time to speak with everypatient and listen to his or hercare goals. He wants to learn whats important to that person. This enables Dr. Washington to foster a bond of mutual trust and respectas he gently restores an individuals oral health and smile.
Dr. Washington enjoys getting to know each of his patients. He likes caring for a diverse community, from retired musicians to active members of the science community and many more. The conversations he has with his patients, and the resulting friendships, enrich his life.
Knowing that periodontics is a constantly evolving field, Dr. Washington seeks out continuing education at every opportunity. In addition to active membership in multiple study clubs, Dr. Washington regularly attends conferences, seminars, and lectures. He also stays current on research findings and other topics through periodontal and dental journals. Additionally, Dr. Washington is a part-time faculty member of the University of North Carolina.
