Dr Engroff earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery and Doctor of Medicine degrees from the University of Maryland. His extensive education includes a residency on Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Oncology at the University of Maryland. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and trained in all aspects fo anesthesia administration to ensure your safety and comfort.
In 2003, Dr. Engroff joined Tri-County Oral-Facial Surgeons, P.C. He continues to be excited about wisdom teeth removal and the other core oral surgery procedures. His special interests include outpatient anesthesia, dental implant reconstruction and orthognathic surgery.
The profession of dentistry is a family affair for Dr. Engroff. His father is a retired dentist. His wife, Dr. Diane Ray, is a practicing orthodontist in State College. They enjoy living in Centre County with their two children.
Michelle Fanning-Hursh is a Moshannon native and now lives in State College. She has earned degrees and certifications as an RN, RN first assistant, and most recently her BSN and CRNP (family nurse practitioner) from Penn State. She has 29 years of experience assisting in a variety of specialties, including the new robotics programs at Mount Nittany Medical Center, where she assists Dr. Engroff with all of his surgical cases. She is licensed by the state, certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and a member of the PA Coalition of Nurse Practitioners.
While completing her masters degree she worked with PSU medical students as their nurse practitioner liaison to launch and run LionCare, a free student-run clinic for the underserved in Tyrone. Additionally, she did a clinical rotation serving a hospital in Ghana, Africa.
They are dedicated to their professions and regularly attend continuing education classes in order to maintain up-to-date knowledge of surgical techniques, anesthesia, administrative and OSHA regulations, coding and other topics.

I Had to have three wisdom teeth and three baby teeth pulled back in October so i could start my Invisalign. I misunderstood and thought the appointment scheduled was to have them removed, it ended up being only a consult. I was very upset because i had an appointment to start my braces the next month, so i thought it would push back my start date and i had this scheduled for months. They ended up talking with the doctor and squeezing me in that day even though i wasn't scheduled, they didn't want to prolong my process any longer. All the staff was extremely nice and professional. Highly recommend!

I've been in many dental care and oral surgeons and always left their office with no satisfaction. BUT it was a different experience with Dr Engroff. He was very professional, did amazing work, and he knew exactly what he was doing. His team was well coordinated and kind. This was indeed my best experience at the dentist!

Got 4 wisdom teeth extracted! Had very little swelling- the doctors, nurses and staff were wonderful. First time having my teeth pulled and I'm glad I went here :)

Remember when you felt better when leaving a medical office? Perhaps you remember when a doctor took time to really listen top you and your concerns? When you were not just the next Patient but you were, Ken, or Janet.. Fill in your own first name. When you see Dr. Engroff you Fine yourself back in those places. Yet, you are also in a medical office that had all three parts latest gadgets and amazing tools. Dr. Engroff and his staff are all these things and much more. He has all kinds of degrees and is incredibly smart. A typical implant takes less than one hour being to end. I have lost count as to how many implants I have. The number 16 might be too low. His ability to extract and then put the implant in all in three same appointment amazed me the first time and by now I count on it. We drive from Williamsport, a little more then an hour each way. It is worth every minute of the drive. Ken Weiss

I had a great experience from start to finish with Tri-County. The nurses were all super nice and helpful and Dr. Engroff was amazing. I needed to have a dental implant performed and did not know what to expect. He guided be through the whole process and made me feel very confident in his expertise. Definitely would recommend.

Dr. Engroff is phenomenal. My case was seen promptly, and it was apparent he cares about his patients. He is worth the wait, as it says in the waiting area, he will take as much time as he needs with patients, even if it delays the schedule. He went above and beyond in my surgery, noticing small details I said in passing. A cap came loose on my implant: I was seen immediately, and not only reassured by the nurse, but she showed me a model of the hardware to explain what had happened. I'm so glad I switched to Tri-Country Oral Facial Surgeons.
