Depending on the age of your child, he or she will either be given a knee-to-knee examination (where your babys head will rest on our doctors knee while their body is on your lap) or a regular exam in the doctors chair.
Mitzi Wade, DDS, grew up in the North Alabama area and received her undergraduate degree from Athens State University in 1997. She then completed her masters degree from the University of North Alabama in Secondary Education. Following four years of teaching, she attended Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry and received her degree in 2007. Dr. Wade loves treating children and for the last 10 years has focused on treating children and patients with special needs.
We specialize in the treatment and prevention of dental disease, as well as the overall oral health of children. Dr. Wade has years of experience working with children and limits her practice at Treehouse Childrens Dentistry to only treating children.
A pediatric patient not only has a different dentition than adults but he/she may have specific dental and behavioral needs that are unique to a child. These needs may include orthodontics, dental sealants, fluoride applications or home treatments, or just simply education in oral hygiene. In addition to treating existing dental problems, our office focuses on prevention through patient and parent education.
