Dr. Youngjoo E. Kim received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University in California. After completing a general practice residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in New York City, she completed her pediatric dentistry residency program at New York University. Dr. Kim then went to the San Francisco Bay Area and spent three successful years in private practice. In 2010, Dr. Kim joined the faculty at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry and served as the pediatric dentistry clinic director while teaching future dentists and engaging in patient care. Her passion for children's oral health led her to invent an innovative Bluetooth-enabled toothbrush to help children effectively brush their teeth. She lives in Ann Arbor with her husband, a UM engineering professor, and three young children. Dr. Kim is board certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and is excited to build long-term relationships with families in our practice and provide outstanding patient care to infants, children, and adolescents.
Dr. James R. Boynton completed his undergraduate, dental school, and pediatric dentistry residency training all at the University of Michigan. He has served on the faculty at the University of Michigan since 2005 and has served as the Head of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry and at Mott Children's Hospital since 2009, where he helped teach over 1000 general dentists and dozens of pediatric dental specialists how to best care for children. A board certified specialist and Diplomate, he is a board examiner for the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and has co-authored dozens of scientific articles and abstracts. The most fulfilling part of his career has always been practicing pediatric dentistry, helping his young patients grow up with healthy smiles and positive attitudes about dental care. He has lived in the Ann Arbor area for nearly 20 years has two daughters in elementary school in Ann Arbor. Dr. Boynton practices at the St. Joseph Mercy Surgery Center in Canton, Michigan, providing care for many of our patients who require dental care under general anesthesia. Dr. Boynton is thrilled to partner with parents in our practice to deliver the best oral health care possible for their children.
Dr. Stephanie S. Shin was born and raised in southern California. After receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in California, she completed a residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at NYU Lutheran Medical Center. This was followed by a pediatric dentistry residency at the University of Michigan where she obtained a certificate as well as a Master of Science degree in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Shin's masters thesis prospectively compared the outcomes of indirect pulp therapy and MTA pulpotomy in decayed primary molars. In addition to practicing at Tree Town Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Shin also teaches clinical pediatric dentistry to dental students and pediatric dental residents at the University of Michigan. She has served on numerous outreach trips, providing dental care to underserved areas in Mexico, Haiti, and Bangladesh. Dr. Shin is board certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and looks forward to establishing long-term relationships with our patients and their families while providing the most compassionate dental care.

This place is very friendly. They even have a therapy dog there to help calm the kids. Its very clean and they treat their patients like family. They always have been very accommodating and understanding when I've had to cancel or reschedule appointments.

Read yelp reviews, many people have had the same experience. We had a child where we were told multiple silver crowns would be needed. They said no parent would be allowed in the room during the procedure so we went to get a second opinion at another local dentist office and told that no crowns were needed.

My first visit and the service and staff were excellent. The atmosphere was clean, vibrant and pleasant. My 15 month old daughter did really well. The service she received was simple and quick for it to be her 1st time.

This place is AMAZING!!! Took my 3 year old son here for 2 cavities and they went above and beyond for my son and myself. They keep me informed the whole time during his appointment and they worked so well with my son!! I will definitely be back!!!!

We just had our first visit for both my boys (2 and 6) and they felt right at home as soon as we walked in. It was a sigh of relief as a Mom, especially bc my 6 y/o doesn't always do well in anxious situations. We are looking forward to going back in 6 months.
