Dr. Steve is originally from a small town in central Illinois called Oreana, but has made Lockport, Illinois his home since 1997. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with his first bachelors degree in biology in 1992. He then attended the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry and graduated in 1997. Upon completion, he went to Loyola University Medical Center and spent a year in a General Practice Residency, where he was not only exposed to all fields and forms of dentistry, but also completed rotations in oral surgery, anesthesia and medicine. In 1998, Dr. Steve returned to the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry after being accepted into the Pediatric Dental program and completed his training in the year 2000.
Dr. Steve currently has two bachelors degrees and his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. He has a license as a Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry and holds a dental sedation permit in the state of Illinois. He became a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 2006 and he earned the title of Fellow of the American College ofDentistry in 2009. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Chicago Dental Society, the Illinois State Dental Society, the Will County Dental Society and the Illinois Society for Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Steve and his wonderful wife, Kathy, have three beautiful children: Beth, Mason and Kyle. He enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, cooking/grilling, gardening and working in his yard. In his spare time, he also enjoys an occasional golf game. Dr. Steve is a rabid University of Illinois fan (Go Illini!). He loves sports (Chicago Bears, St. Louis Cardinals and White Sox) and having fun with family, friends and neighbors.
Dr. Dennis grew up in Orland Park and currently lives in Mokena with his wonderful wife, Gina, and their four children: beautiful triplets Maddie, Mia and Marissa, and their newest beautiful addition, Meredith. They share their busy home with their playful pup, Sly. In his free time, Dr. Dennis enjoys fishing, relaxing on his patio, and sitting around his fire pit with family and friends. Being raised in a suburb of Chicago, he has devoted his love of sports to the White Sox and the Bears.
He began his dental training and received both his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) and Bachelor of Science in Dentistry (BS) degrees in 2002 from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry. Over the next two years, he worked towards obtaining his Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry while also obtaining his Master of Science (MS) degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He graduated with both degrees in 2004. This specialized training emphasizes dental care from infancy through the growth and development stage and into adulthood.
Dr. Dennis is a licensed Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry and holds a conscious sedation permit in the state of Illinois. He became a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 2006, is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Chicago Dental Society, the Illinois State Dental Society and the Illinois Society of Pediatric Dentistry.

I have a 5 year old autistic son, so bringing him to the dentist for the first time was something I was worried about. Dr. Dennis and staff where AMAZING with my little guy! It was a PLEASANT and FUN experience, I will never forget! I would recommend them to anyone!

Update- still the best. Can't believe it's their 20th Anniversary. Congratulations and keep up the great work the entire team does. The best dental office for kids around. A great looking office with an even better team that work here. Always friendly, helpful and professional. My kids enjoy going here. A huge fish tank and video games to keep the kids busy while waiting a very short time to be seen. I highly recommend Treasured Smiles for all your kids dental needs.

Dr Steve is a hit with my kids! They are comfortable at Treasured Smiles and always excited to go. I forgot to call in my new insurance prior to our appointment, but they were quick to get everything fixed. Couldn't recommend them enough!

My son is 18 months and at this stage coming in contact with strangers is difficult for him. Dr. Dennis and his assistant we amazing with my son! They were very friendly, extremely informative, and incredibly patient with us. The place is decorated very cutely and kid friendly. We had a great experience and will definitely be making treasured smiles our dental home.

This was my daughters first time at the dentist and I wanted it to be a positive experience. I found Treasured Smiles on google and chose to bring her here based off their reviews. I am so happy I did! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left everyone was so very kind. They were so good with her. My daughter had such a positive first time dental experience that she is excited to go back in 6 months. Highly recommend.

I never leave reviews for anything. My 4 yr old had a pretty traumatic experience at another specialists office. When we left here, she told me she wanted to go back and have them take care of her cavities. We have not gotten them filled yet, being hopeful that she will do well at our next appt. But this place and these people are simply AMAZING! Dr Steve was super helpful in explaining every route we can take and he was soo nice and pleasant towards my child. Every staff member was extremely nice from checking in to checking out. They were simply amazing with my little one. From the bottom of my heart, I can't thank them enough for such a wonderful experience for my little one and for all of the information they informed me of. Felling blessed to of found such a wonderful place!

We always have a great experience with Treasured Smiles! Ms. Jen and Ms. Cheryl make my kids comfortable and happy when we come in. And Dr Steve is always friendly and explains everything clearly to us. Glad we found an office where the kids like going so they can continue lifelong dental hygiene!

Facility and employees are nice. TVs all over for the kids. Rating it a 2 because of the service. My 4 year old had quite a few cavities. The first and only option offered to us was to first get the covid test, put him under anesthesia, & do a nasotracheal intubation in order to fill the cavities. There is no way I would opt for intubating my kid for some fillings. When I called back to see if they would at least try to do the fillings with just lidocaine, I was told because of his age they would not even attempt it. Not to mention all that was going to cost almost $3k. So needless to say we won't be going back. We found a pediatric dentist in Palos that does fillings the old fashion way... with just lidocaine & my kid did awesome. Didn't cry or fight. We finished 2 fillings in about 25 mins. They took the time to explain what they were doing first as to not scare him. And the price was way more manageable.

Treasured Smiles is amazing! My kids do not fear the dentist like I did growing up. Rather, they are so excited to go! Recently, my son had to have a tooth removed due to some trauma from doing boy things. I was so nervous for him, but Dr. Steve had him smiling through the entire process! I've never been to a dentist that is so amazing, comforting, and fun! You can tell they put a lot of thought into who they hire. Their front desk staff and hygienists are as amazing as the dentists!

Best experience I've ever had any pediatric doctor/dentist. I have 2 very shy kids that are terrified of all medical appointments. The staff along with Dr. Dennis welcomed us at the door and created an incredible experience. The first thing they asked me as we were leaving was, "when can we go back."

Before today I was a first time patient at treasured smiles. My son is a patient at their sister pediatric office and I have had only great experiences there. Naturally I had to try out the adult office. From the moment I walked in the door the staff was extremely welcoming while also maintaining Covid-19 safety measures. I was taken back by the relaxing, luxurious feeling of the office. If felt like being in a 5 star spa. The woman who brought be back (I'm so mad I forgot her name,) was extremely kind and proficient. She took my X-rays, and photos and maintained great conversation. The dentist chair I sat in even had massagers in it! Dr. Niki is so so sweet and educated me unlike anyone ever has about the health of my teeth. I feel like I finally found someone I could trust. For the first time in my life I'm actually looking forward to going back and taking care of the few things I need. Overall I highly recommend treasured smiles and Dr. Niki!
