Dr. Kari McKenzie and the members of our team are dedicated to serving our community with advanced treatments and comprehensive education. Recent studies have shown an intrinsic relationship between your oral, bodily, and mental health.
Dr. McKenzie enjoys broadening her depth of knowledge in the field by attending numerous continuing education courses each year. She enjoys meeting her patients and providing each one with quality and compassionate dental care. The wealth of knowledge that she brings to her patients at Treasured Pearls Dentistry extends from her experience and additional training in the areas of cosmetic dentistry, dental care for children, gum disease, root canals, wisdom teeth, dental implants, oral conscious sedation, and more.
Dr. McKenzie is an active member of the American Dental Association, the District of Columbia Dental Society, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. She participates in various community outreach events in the area and serves as a mentor to local students that are interested in the dental profession. Her dental mission work has taken her to Venezuela, Sri Lanka, Guatemala, Jamaica, and Mexico. In her spare time, she enjoys weight-lifting, trying out new restaurants, spending time with family, and building or repurposing furniture.

Dr. McKenzie is absolutely AMAZING! She was super professional and gave excellent customer service. I needed a veneer cemented at the last minute before vacation and she was my saving grace. I don't know what I would have done without her! I highly reccommend this practice to anyone in the area looking for a rewarding dental experience!

I am someone who has had a very hard time with the dentist since childhood -- but Dr McKenzie and her dental assistant Octavia went above and beyond to accommodate me and make my experience there truly peaceful. Everyone in this office is so kind and comforting that I cannot recommend them enough

They are the only professionals in the DMV that I've had a great experience with. I trust them completely! They are both knowledgeable and perseaonable!! Dr. McKenzie is a hidden small business dentistry gem in the city. I've had a lot of dental work done here - crowns, fillings - and she and her staff do a fantastic job at making me feel comfortable and welcome. Dr. McKenzie always takes the time to answer my (many) questions and does not make me feel guilty like other dentists I've seen. Appealing to the human behind the insurance, they even give you a tiny stuffed animal to hold if you feel stressed during dental work.

First class all the way: What a wonderful dental practice. Dr. McKenzie and her team are extremely thorough and welcoming. The office uses cutting-edge technology to care of your teeth (pics of every single tooth!) and they clearly love what they do.

Always a pleasure when I see Dr. McKenzie. She always puts me at ease during a simple or complex procedure! And her office staff is wonderful and welcoming!! If you need a new dentist and you are in the DMV are, Dr. McKenzie is the dentist to see!!

I just want to say that this is a very nice and clean place to have your dental care done. Staffing at front desk is very friendly and Dr. MCKenzie is great and always trying to help as well Octavia they will explain everything to you and take care of you.! I will definitely recommend this place!!!

Dr. MacKenzie and the team at Treasured Pearls are amazing! I am really anxious about dental work and dentist visits, but Dr. MacKenzie and Octavia always do a good job putting me at ease and taking care of my teeth. They have also been quickly available for emergency appointments, like when I broke my tooth. I've never had any issues with the admin staff and they are always super helpful and friendly. A bunch of my coworkers also love Treasured Pearls since it's near our office. Can't recommend them enough!

Treasured Pearls has maybe the kindest staff of any dentist office I've been in. They walked me through everything step by step, explained what would be happening today, and prepped me for next steps. I had a great experience with Dr. McKenzie, who I found very friendly and very helpful in understanding my dental situation. I highly recommend checking out Treasured Pearls!

I love Dr. Barnes! I've been seeing her since she arrived in DC. She is professional, gentle, and personable. Her staff is friendly and I can always get an appointment with ease. She helped me tremendously with a defective implant. I'd recommend her to anyone seeking excellent care and attention to detail. Her office is also Metro accessible, which is a big plus as well.

The office is always spotless. The staff are thoughtful, pleasant, patient and always cheerful. The office is responsive to inquiries and work diligently to resolve any issues.
