Dr. Feimster became board certified in endodontics in 2014. Before obtaining her dream of becoming a specialist, she obtained a BS degree in dental hygiene at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After completing the first two years of dental school at Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry, she was granted a research position at the National Institute of Health (NIH) and transferred to Howard University College of Dentistry to complete her dental degree.
After Graduating at the top of her class with a research publication, Dr. Feimster decided to further her dental education and completed a General Practice Residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, NY, then attended the University of Maryland-Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in Baltimore, MD where she obtained her Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences and a certificate in Endodontics.
After completing the Endodontic residency, Dr. Feimster returned to Howard University-School of Dentistry and took an assistant professor position. She maintained a Deans Faculty position at the University of Maryland and was named Top Dentist in the Northern Virginia Magazine while in private practice in 2014 and 2015. Dr. Feimster is a board certified member of the American Board of Endodontics, an active member of the American Association of Endodontist, American Dental Association, Greater Houston Dental Society and Houston Academy of Endodontists. She has been active in the Edward C. Penick Study Club, the National Dental Association, and the Old Dominion Dental Society. Dr. Feimster spends her free time with family, traveling, and volunteering with her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, reading and exercising. Her true passion is mentoring and giving back to the community.

she did my root canal on tooth 14 ,which turn out to be not done properly ,I end up with infection.very very disappointed with her services.

First visit during COVID was fantastic. Dr Feimster and her staff were very conscientious of safety protocols which I really appreciated. Appointment was great with Dr Feimster taking the time to do the hygienist work herself, xrays, and created a custom treatment plan which she explained in detail. Taking my teenager in next!

Had a root canal on February 2, 2021. Despite limited staffing due to Covid-19, Dr. Feimster was extremely attentive and professional. She handled my visit with care, was very informative throughout the procedure, and is extremely knowledgeable. Two days later she called to check up on me. That was very thoughtful.

My visit here was not too tranquil. The dentist is fine and she does explain every thing well and she is a nice lady. On my first appointment she had me wait for my daughter in the waiting area. My family had a bad in counter in the past at a dentist office and coming to the dentist makes us really nervous so waiting with my daughter is really important for me. On my follow up appointment she told me to go wait in the car do to COVID 19 but my fist appointment was during COVID and she didn't ask me to wait in the car then. That made us both feel very uncomfortable. Just really weird cuz no one was even in the waiting area but me. I just don't feel comfortable leaving my daughter some place I won't be able to help her in case some thing go's wrong. For this reason I would not recommend you bring your child hear at least during COVID 19. Had she told us this is one of her rules before we came we would not have come.

This was my first time going to Tranquility Dental Spa with Dr.Tawana Feimster. She is a Board Certified Endodontics. I must say her consultation showed how knowledgeable she is about what she does. She explained everything to me in detail and showed videos to further explain my upcoming root canal procedure. I also had my teeth clean by her and she did an excellent job. Kudos to you, Dr. Feimster!

I took my daughter for her to make root camel treatment and she told us I will do it but after she completed cleaning and made for us the appointment for filling told us oh I can't do it and you need to extract the teeth. She doesn't have stuff in the office and she running the clinic, replay for the phone by herself. Be aware .I don't recommend her at all.

I saw Dr. Feimster for pain associated with TMJ issues. She was thorough, compassionate, patient and asked me a lot of questions during my assessment. She developed a simple plan to ease the pain immediately, and we discussed next steps. I felt better immediately! Go see her if you have any pain (or even if you don't). She'll help you. My experience with Joan and Dr. Feimster were masterful. I went in for a root canal retreatment. Everything has felt great and Dr. Feimster made sure I was comfortable during the entire process. Both are knowledgeable about their craft and very welcoming. When I first entered their office Joan greeted me and has continued to check up on me after the service. Dr. Feimster is the best dentist I have been to. I would recommend her to anyone.

I saw Dr. Tawana Feimster for a root canal. Unfortunately when I go to the dentist, I feel anxious and be ready for the exams and procedures to be over as quickly as possible. This was especially nerve racking because of the pandemic. My experience with Dr. Feimster was very professional and she made me feel comfortable and just talked to me throughout the procedure (I'm sure to distract me ) and before I knew it, she was finished and I was on my way. She makes sure to tell you exactly what she is doing every step of the way and allow you to take a moment if necessary. The office is very clean and top notch equipment used for patience and it's centrally located in Houston. I would recommend Tranquility Dental Spa and Dr. Feimster without hesitation.

Exceptional quality of care. Compassionate endodontist and staff. Had a root canal and related care that goes along with it and no pain experienced. Dr. Feimster has the best injection skills and gets perfect local anesthesia so you don't suffer any pain. Any services that aren't offered directly there will get you referred other exceptional providers as well. Dr. Feemster knows a large cohort of great providers, and in some cases she has been a part of their professional training at the dental school. You can't ask for a better dental experience!
