Periodontists receive three years of education beyond dental school. This advanced training includes oral reconstruction and rehabilitation for patients with severe periodontal disease and management of periodontal patients with medical issues.
Dr. Trammell partners with your general dentist to provide an integrated approach to your oral health. Your family dentist will manage and maintain your overall dental care and will refer to specialists as necessary to assist with complexneeds.
Dr. Kyle Trammell grew up in Centre, Alabama. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Auburn University with a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences in 2007 and then continued his educational journey into dentistry at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. During dental school, Dr.Trammell received an award for his pre-doctoral clinical research and was honored for scholastic achievement as a recipient of the UAB School of Dentistry Alumni Scholarship. He achieved his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) in2011.
While in dental school at UAB, Dr.Trammell worked on a clinical research project with the department of periodontology. It was during this experience that he decided to pursue periodontics as a specialty. He successfully completed dual certification during his residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry Department of Periodontology from 2011-2014 and the Veteran Affairs Hospital in Birmingham from 2011-2014. He was Chief Resident from 2013-2014. Dr.Trammell's advanced training and clinical emphasis of work includes dental implants, treatment of periodontal disease, bone regeneration, soft tissue grafting and crown lengthening for esthetics or function.
Dr. Trammell is a member of the American Dental Association, the Alabama Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration, the Alabama Society of Periodontists and the Second District Dental Society. He currently serves on the board of trustees of the Alabama Dental Association, is a member of the executive committee of the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry Alumni Association, and is the past-president of both the Alabama Society of Periodontists and the Second District Dental Society. Dr.Trammell is the director of the River Region Study Club (alocal chapter of the nationally renowned Seattle Study Club). He and his wife Ashley have two daughters, Emerson and Collins. Together they enjoy going to the lake, waterskiing, traveling, Auburn football and spending time outside with Tucker, their soft-coated wheaten terrier. They are active members of Trinity Presbyterian Church.
Dr. Trammell has achieved certification as a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. This honor is accomplished by successfully meeting the educational and examination standards that encompass all phases of periodontics, including dental implants. It is the highest level of recognition that a specialist can attain in the field of periodontology, and less than one-third of all periodontists hold this distinction.

I would HIGHLY recommend this office to anyone who asks. The moment I walked in I was greeted with smiling faces and welcomed in. The front office staff were extremely friendly and very polite. Dr.Trammell listened to every single one of my concerns and seemed truly invested in helping me figure out what was going on. Although I had to be referred elsewhere to be helped, he was the first doctor who actually seemed to listen and not dismiss my concerns. He even wanted a follow up whenever I did figure out what was going on. This is how doctors and office staff everywhere should be. 5 stars doesn't do them justice, honestly.

Dr. Trammell's office is so well run. He and his staff are so professional and so personable. They make you feel comfortable and secure. After my procedure, Dr. Trammell called me himself to check on me and the office called me the next morning. When they schedule an appointment, they see you at the scheduled time. It has been a sincere pleasure to be one of their clients. I will definitely use them again.

Coming from out of town. They made me feel welcome. Malory was wonderful. I walked in very nervous. She took the time to any of my questions and put me at easy. Dr Kyle was amazing. Knowing I was nervous. He got my attention way from what he was doing by asking me questions about my job. He informed me at every step what he was doing. If I could I would have them not just for a specialist, but as my regular dentist. I would recommend them to anyone. The team is great. *big shout out to Malory!*

Trammell Periodontics was nothing short of AMAZING. I could not believe my results. Dr. Trammell is a very caring and patient doctor. He explains everything regarding your procedure in detail and does not mind taking extra time to make sure you fully understand so you are satisfied with your results. After my crown lengthening he called me personally to check on how I was doing after hours. He checked on my pain tolerance and reminded me of after procedure care. Each appointment prior and after the oral surgery he made sure I was satisfied with how things looked. The staff at the office are very sweet and nice. They work with you to make sure every appointment and visit is convenient. I am 100% satisfied with my smile and experience at Trammell Periodontics. I would highly recommend this office.

Not unlike most people, since I was kid I had a fear of going to the dentist. Unless I was dating, my mouth was to remain unadulterated - a sacred place full of sugar and french fries. In fact, this fear of going to the dentist kept me from seeing a dentist my entire adult life (I'm now 31). Though I still brushed my teeth daily, not going to the dentist had it's consequences. Dr. Tranmell has done 2 procedures on my mouth in the past year. He and his staff are excellent. I know I've been difficult but they have been comforting and patient towards me each visit. I'm not just saying this, but they have single-handedly quelled my fear of going to the dentist/periodontist. In fact, in the first time in (10) years, I have scheduled a biannual teeth cleaning with my primary dentist. Thanks Dr. Trammell and Staff! Billy Guyette
