Our dcor is inspired by Thai and Balinese architecture, and we think youll agree it is a beautiful and soothing design.
Our practice is dedicated to protecting the environment, and has been certified as a green dental practice through the Eco-Dentistry Association, one of only four dental offices in the state of Texas to receive this certification. We keep active in our local community too, staying involved with several local community organizations.
Among Trade Winds Dentals core values is a commitment to excellent care and continuing education. New products and innovative techniques emerge every day in this business, and Dr. Winegar wants you to enjoy the very best. Since earning his DDS from Virginia Commonwealth University, he has participated in more than 700 hours of continuing education courses; including finishing the continuum at the prestigious Spear Institute in Scottsdale and the Preceptorship in Implantology at UTSA.
A Salt Lake City, Utah native, Dr. Winegar completed his undergraduate work at the University of Utah, graduating in Medical Biology. He is a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and prior to attending dental school, lived in Africa for two years doing humanitarian work for his church.
Dr. Winegar enjoys spending time with family, including wife Kristin and their son Jack. He is an avid college football fan and also loves tennis, cycling, waterskiing, and other outdoor sports. Dr. Winegar is also an Instrument Rated Pilot as well as a Glider Pilot.
Alanna is originally from the Midwest and moved to Dallas as a child with her family. Shes a graduate of Richland University in Dallas. She knows a thing or two about working in a dental office having two decades of experience. Shes been a member of the Tradewinds Dental team since 2007.
Alanna has two sons, Spencer and Cooper, along with twin girls, Tressie and Tegan. The family has always been very active in our church, kids sports and time together as a family. Most recently that time has been spent remodeling our home. I love to design and remodel, find wonderful antiques and visit small towns and their people whenever I can. Shes looking forward to watching her children and grandchildren grow!
Pattie was born to be a dental hygienist. When she was a teenager, she was fortunate enough to babysit a dentists daughters. He invited her to come work in his office. While there, she was cross-trained at the front desk and as an assistant. Then, when it was time to attend college, it was a natural transition to dental hygiene. Pattie graduated Magna Cum Laude from Tyler Junior College in 1980 and has not slowed down since. Trade Winds Dental was honored to have such an experienced dental hygienist and caring individual such as Pattie join the team December 2013.
Patties faith and family are centering, driving forces in her life. Although Patties roots are in Tyler, Texas, she has lived in the Dallas area, as well as outside of Frankfurt, West Germany. She and her family have been in the Austin area since 1995. Pattie has been happily married to her high school sweetheart since 1979. Shes had the honor and privilege of raising two, grown children, a son and a daughter. Now she has the crowning addition of four precious granddaughters.

We have never in our live have such an experience with a dental office as with Trade Wind Dental. They are so very friendly that we felt at home right away in the waiting room. We can hardly wait for the next appointment. The explanation they gave us are so precise and accurate and they are gentle when they work on you. Thank you for taken care of our dental work, it looks excellent and it feels so good. Your work are so professional what else can we say. Keep up the excellent work Trade Wind Dental.

Overall they seem like nice people. However, some aspects could be improved. Pros #1 Nice People - Everyone that I spoke with seemed very nice and helpful. #2 Clean and Professional - Everyone wore masks and were conscious of my comfort. #3 They let me listen to music during my cleaning. Their headphones were broken, but I had my own. Cons #1 Deceptive charges - $149 for new patients is fine, but expect them to schedule a 2nd visit with a few days with over $300 cleaning. Be sure to make sure you understand everything upfront. #2 Confusing invoices - After receiving 2 invoices, each for different amounts. I had to call and speak to someone to clarify what I was being billed for. Another thing that I am not sure is a Pro or a Con They wanted to schedule a 3rd visit to speak with the dentist after he looked at my file. I understand how this could be beneficial, however, taking time off of work to go to the dentist 3+ times in a couple of weeks.

One of the best Dentist offices I've been to. Pattie, my hygienist is amazing. She makes my teeth feel so clean and better each time I visit. The office is always clean and the Doctor and front desk are always so kind and personable. I can't wait to send my husband there for his cleaning. So glad I found them in Georgetown!

Being a "Baby Boomer" I lived in a small town that had only one pediatric dentist. Needless to say, that dentist was mean and horrible. I had been afraid of and had no trust in dentists since then. My wife finally had convinced to see Trade Winds Dental and I reluctantly went, kicking and screaming. As soon as I walked through the front door I was immediately put at ease by Alanna. Dr Hennington came out to introduce himself, he was that mean ogre that I had associated with dentists. During our consultation I told him that I really didn't want to hear what I "should" have done and he says "That isn't the way we do things here, we go from this point forward". Six years later I happily go in for my teeth cleaning by Pattie after being welcomed in by Alanna. I have have a great relationship with Dr. Winegar and that whole "team" has made my life much better.

Awesome! Is the first word that comes to mind when talking about Trade Winds Dental Family & Emergency Dental. The experience and on-going services Trade Winds provides are extremely professional while making you feel right at home. Aside from the regular dental care provided, Trade Winds staff assisted me regarding a dental emergency while in travel status for vacation. Knowing they go the extra mile really put my mind at ease and made me feel like family and not just another patient. My husband and I have been patients at Trade Winds Dental for more than 10 years. We have had our share of cavities, cracked teeth, root canals, and crowns. We have our routine cleanings and checks every six months. Not one single time have we ever considered going anywhere else!
