Three weeks after graduating from dental school, Dr. McBee married James McBee from Ballinger, TX. James is a working cowboy. They live in the country near Meadow and have two boys: Riley and Tate. Her family keeps her very busy when she is not in the office.

Dr. McBee loves dentistry and knew as a sixth grader that she wanted to become a dentist. She enjoys the relationship that she forms with each patient, and feels so blessed to be involved in an occupation that can improve peoples self-esteem by creating a beautiful smile.

People in and around Lubbock are not like people anywhere else. It is very gratifying to be able to help hard-working people in the area. Lubbocks economy is driven by agriculture, which Dr. McBee understands because her dad was a cotton farmer before retiring in 2008.

Dr. McBee makes it a priority to stay up-to-date on the latest dental technology. She attends numerous dental courses each year to keep her knowledge of dentistry current. Technology is evident in her office with the patient favorite, Waterlase MD Dental Laser, that allows her to do fillings without anesthetic.

Dr. McBees office and staff are very personal, and they make each patient feel at home and at ease. Her office is not a large office that operates in large volumes. Patients are not herded in and out like cattle. Each patient is treated like family and has access to Dr. McBee more easily than other dental or medical offices. She takes her job very seriously, but she manages to do so in a fun way. It is not uncommon for a patient to tell her: That was the best dental visit I have ever had.

Dr. McBee is involved in organized dentistry. She is a member of the South Plains District Dental Society, the Texas Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. When she is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, swimming, exercising, wakeboarding, playing basketball, watching sports, and being involved with her boys in their extracurricular activities.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND, WE ARE NOT IN NETWORK WITH ANY DENTAL INSURANCE COMPANY and that we file dental insurance as a courtesy to our patients. We do not have a contract with your insurance company; only you do. We are not responsible for how your insurance company handles its claims or for what benefits they pay on a claim. We can only assist you in estimating your portion of the cost of treatment. We at no time guarantee what your insurance will or will not do with each claim. We also cannot be responsible for any errors in filing your insurance. Once again, WE FILE CLAIMS AS A COURTESY TO YOU.

Dental insurance is meant to be an aid in receiving dental care. Many patients think that their insurance pays 90%-100% of all dental fees this is not true! Most plans only pay between 50%-80% of the average total fee. Some pay more, and some pay less. The percentage paid is usually determined by how much you or your employer has paid for coverage, or the type of contract your employer has set up with the insurance company.

You may have noticed that sometimes your dental insurer reimburses you or the dentist at a lower rate than the dentists actual fee. Frequently, insurance companies state that the reimbursement was reduced because your dentists fee has exceeded the Usual, Customary, or Reasonable fee (UCR) used by the company.

A statement such as this gives the impression that any fee greater than the amount paid by the insurance company is unreasonable or well above what most dentists in the area charge for a specific service. This can be very misleading and simply is not accurate.

Insurance companies set their own schedules, and each company uses a different set of fees they consider allowable. These allowable fees may vary widely because each company collects fee information from claims it processes. The insurance company then takes this data and systematically selects a level they call the allowable UCR Fee. Unfortunately, insurance companies imply that your dentist is overcharging, rather than say that they are underpaying, or that their benefits are low. In general, the less expensive insurance policy will use a lower usual, customary, or reasonable (UCR) figure.

*Please be advised, Dr. Mcbee will employ the services of a collection agency or her personal attorney for any balances that are 30 days past due after the receipt of your insurance companys payment.*
