Dr. Wilkersons father, Dr. Tom, was a pediatric dentist, and she grew up watching him build meaningful relationships while helping patients. After working as an engineer, she made a life-changing decision to go back to school and become a dentist like her dad.
Post-graduation, Dr. Wilkerson continued her education with a residency program in pediatrics and eventually took over her fathers practice after his retirement. Many of Dr. Toms patients now have kids who visit our practice, meaning were leaving a legacy of smiles!
Dr. Wilkerson believes pediatric dentistry is the perfect mix of fun and medicine, making each visit a stress-free and exciting experience for kids and parents alike. (More fun for kids and more convenience for parents.)
Our dentist loves helping families create a lifetime of excellent dental health. She has shared her dental skills on mission trips to Haiti, which has made her grateful for the modern medical and dental care we have in this country.
I grew up watching my fathers interactions with his dental patients and always thought it looked rewarding. Today, I enjoy impacting peoples health and perceptions of dental health care that will last a lifetime and even into the next generation. Its the right mixture of fun and medicine, and I love being a kids dentist.
Before becoming a dentist, I was a civil engineer for a while. Most people find it interesting that I made the career change, but pediatric dentistry is my true calling. I have also jumped out of a plane when I took my sister skydiving on her 40th birthday.

At our office, we do everything we can to make sure that your experience is as enjoyable as possible. We have a comfort menu that we give to patients on each visit. It has options on flavors for toothpaste or nitrous oxide noses, as well as choices for blankets and sunglasses.
At our practice, we are qualified to handle all aspects of your care, so you are always surrounded by people that you trust. If we must refer out, we promise to send you to carefully vetted colleagues, who apply the same professional principles in their office that we do in ours.

Dr Wilkerson and the staff are phenomenal!! The staff got my son in the same day after an unexpected tooth ache. Dr Wilkerson took the time and care to assess him and get the next steps in place to fix his issues!! I have nothing but good things to say about everyone that works here!!! I would highly recommend them to anyone!!!!

Absolutely the WORST! I made an appointment on the phone with them and they asked what dental insurance I had. Get to the appointment and they refused treatment on my son because "they aren't in network for Delta Dental"! Why on earth did they not tell me this when I scheduled the appointment!!!! Refused even seeing him for a cleaning because I couldn't pay $220 upfront. I WOULD NOT recommend this pediatric dentist at all. I'm extremely angry over the time and gas money I wasted. Do not waste your time with this pediatric dentist. They don't have their stuff together.

We were having trouble finding a pediatric dentist taking new Delta patients so were pleased when Children's Dentistry said they were taking such patients. What they didn't tell us, and apparently are under no obligation to do so, is that they are out of our network. So despite paying for premium dental coverage, I was left with a $160 bill just to have a cleaning done on a 2 year old. This kind of information should be given up front especially considering we asked about their Delta coverage prior to scheduling.

HUGE ego. She refused to see my child because I questioned why kids would get root canals on baby teeth. A simple 5 minute phone call and patient education could have cleared up the whole mess. She cancelled the surgery against my wishes so I had to take my child to Morgantown. WVU School of Dentistry couldn't get him into an O.R. for 5 months so we tried to complete his dental care while on nitrous oxide. They had to hold him down and he is forever terrified of the dentist; all because of Dr. Wilkerson. After this I have met several other mothers with the same experience. I wish we could get an endodontist in southern WV who cared for the child's future, that wouldn't be offended when parents ask questions.

I took my son to Children's Dentistry this week after recently moving to Charleston and it was such a great experience. The staff were so friendly and informative, the atmosphere is clean & adorable, and Dr Tracy was great with my son.

This is the way all doc appointments should be! Efficient, on-time and a pleasant experience for the patient (and parent). My teen aged boys love going to Dr. Wilkerson and getting their tooth health report!

This was the first time we had been here and the experience could not have been better. My toddler loved the environment as soon as we walked in, he's already asking to go back. The staff was amazing, so friendly and so patient! Dr. Wilkerson was quick but thorough. I would recommend Children's Dentistry to anyone.

Just called and asking if they was accepting new patients and she said yes and was sitting me up an appointment then when they asking if I would be applying insurance with this visit and I told them what insurance I had and because it wasn't there an employer that aren't accepting insurance throw the DHHR...That is so wrong just because the insurance is through medical card they wouldn't accept us. Sounds like to me they like to Judge people

My daughter has gone to Tracy since she was able to and I've loved each and every experience. She has her last appointment with her in November and we will miss her. She has evolved her practice into the best in the Kanawha Valley.

Our family absolutely loves Children's Dentistry! Dr. Wilkerson and her staff are all so warm & friendly and great with children. They explained step-by-step what they were doing as they worked, which put my nervous daughter at ease. You can tell that Dr. Wilkerson invests her whole heart into her practice. The office itself is very welcoming to children with brightly colored walls & artwork, kid-friendly music/tv, and a giant train seating area that greets you as you enter the front doors. They go the extra mile by providing a welcome gift to new patients, complimentary cold bottled water & coffee in the waiting area, and hosting special patient appreciation events. You can tell she loves her patients and my children leave in such high spirits. I highly recommend Children's Dentistry to any family near the Charleston area (we drive an hour to see her & it's completely worth it!).

My son is Autistic and so scared of the dentist. They take their time & understand when he cannot do exactly what they need him to. They are about the only place I feel that doesn't judge me either. I think they understand that I am doing the best that I can.

My girls have been patients at this practice for about 5 years now. We came here after a bad experience at another children's dentist. My oldest was panicked about going to the dentist for a while because of that experience, but she has always felt at ease at Children's Dentistry. If she was fearful about anything, the staff talked her through it patiently and gently. Now my girls actually look forward to going to the dentist. We've never had anything but a pleasant experience there. I can't recommend this practice highly enough.

Dr. Wilkerson and her staff are superb! They make both my of my children feel at ease and comfortable during their visits. They always take the time to answer questions and the office is always a clean and very welcoming environment. We are very satisfied with the care we have received here!
