Dr. Harju received his DMD (Doctor Of Dentistry in Medicine) degree from Case Western Reserve School of Dental Medicine in 2001. His education continues to this day, as he avidly pursues continuing education. To stay at the top of his knowledge and skills, he completes over two times the hours of Continuing Education required by the State of Ohio. His greatest interests are aesthetic dentistry, treating TMJ problems, dental sleep medicine (snoring and apnea treatment), and biologic/systemic dentistry (treating patients with their systemic health in mind).
My favorite part of dentistry is seeing transformation in patients through relationship-based care. I try hard to listen to my patients. I truly love getting to know my patients personally. As my dentist hero Dr. L.D. Pankey once said, 'I never saw a tooth walking into my practice.'
I find that I learn just as much from our patients as they learn from me. They may come in to see us the first time feeling uncomfortable with their mouths, or disappointed with they way dentistry has not been able to help them in the past. I love to see them change from discouraged to hopeful early in our relationship. And in time, through the course of treatment, they become trusting friends.
We have a state-of-the art facility that has all the important new technology, such as digital imaging and digital X-rays. We do everything we can to keep dentistry 'bio-safe.' We use specialized barriers and air filtration to avoid patients being exposed to harmful mercury when removing silver amalgam fillings. I don 't place any mercury containing fillings.
We are doing our best to become a green business. We have special water filtration that keeps heavy metals from entering the city's waste water, we filter the air to remove mercury vapors and VOC's, and send as much waste as we can to a local recycling facility.
More than anything, I enjoy time with my family. Together we like spending time in the outdoors, biking, hiking, and most recently fishing. I coach my kids' soccer teams, and also enjoy reading and church activities.

I received my degree in dental hygiene in 2000 after graduating from Sinclair College. I also received my license in Local Anesthesia in 2009. I enjoy working in a relationship-based dental office where I can look forward to reacquainting with past patients and creating friendships with new ones. My husband, Jamie, and I live in Russia with our three crazy but wonderful children! I enjoy spending time with family and friends, golfing, boating and being a church volunteer.
From the time I was in 9th grade I knew I wanted to make dentistry my career. Dentistry just keeps getting better in every way, and my passion is seeing patients improve their over-all health and smile. After earning a Dental Assistant's certificate, I decided to continue my education by going back to school to earn a license as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant, which allows me to place fillings. My goal is to always help patients feel comfortable, appreciated and well-cared for. When I am not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my family! My married daughter, Lindsay and her husband, Kevin live in Buffalo, New York. We also have a son, Brad who enjoys stock car racing. Many weekends you might find us at the race track cheering him on!
While growing up, I had a pleasant relationship with our family dentist and his wonderful staff. As a teenager, I was blessed to be given the opportunity to be on board with their staff. That opportunity inspired and motivated me to pursue a degree in the health care field as a dental hygienist. I received my degree in Dental Hygiene in 2004 after graduating from Rhodes State. In 2012, I received my local anesthesia license. Here I am, blessed once again, with the opportunity to work in a positive environment where everyone is passionate about building personal relationships. Every day, I look forward to visiting with patients, whether they have been coming here for years or whether this is their first visit. My husband, Gavin, and I, live in Houston with our four children, Mason, Marissa, Devyn and Matt. There's never a dull moment around our house, with four kids, three dogs, two hermit crabs and one cat!
Growing up I saw my grandma Bev working for Dr. Harju, and ever since then I knew I was going to work in dentistry. To further my education, I completed a program called DATS (Dental Assisting Training School) in September 2014. From there I started as a dental assistant and eventually expanded my skills at the front desk. I married my high school sweetheart, Nicholas and we reside here in Troy. When Im not working I enjoy time with my friends and family. It has been a dream come true for me to finally work for Dr. Harju and with his wonderful staff. I cant wait to meet you!
I began my journey in the dental field in 2013 working for an orthodontist in Indiana. I worked chairside for 5 years and loved the relationships built with our patients. In 2018, I got married and moved to Covington. I continued in the orthodontic field for another year but when the opportunity opened to be a part of the team here, I couldnt pass it up! I was eager for change, to learn a new area of the dental field, and experience a different position within the office. Not only do I love working with patients, but my hobbies include floral design, gardening, sports, and most importantly quality time with my husband, our family and friends.
I have always loved being in an office environment, so when I was given the opportunity to become a part of the team here, I was thrilled. Since I was new to the dental field when I started, learning a new field has been a great experience for me. I love getting to know and building relationships with our patients. I also enjoy helping to provide a welcoming environment for our patients! My husband, Cory and I have three kids who keep us busy. I love watching my kids play sports, coaching volleyball, and spending time with family and friends. I look forward to meeting you!

I had a couple of fillings done and I couldn't be more pleased! I have had some pretty terrible and traumatizing experiences with other dentists, but Dr Haru and his team did a fantastic job in changing my outlook on dentistry. They are all so patient and accommodating. They are also very caring about their patients and their families. I was having a terrible morning and next thing I knew I ended up venting a little bit. But Dr Haru and his assistant (sandy I do believe was her name) just sat there and kindly listened, followed by them offering me empathy and reassurance. Never once did I feel uncomfortable or intimidated. Even as soon as I walked in the door I was greeted with smiles from everyone at the front desk. Not to mention, my fillings look absolutely amazing and I have such great confidence with my smile again!!! A HUGE thank you to Dr Haru, his assistant Sandy (who was amazing by the way) and his team!!!

I've only been here three times (Initial Visit, Cleaning, and Fillings) and each time has been a very pleasant experience. Everyone is incredibly nice. I have to give extra praise to Dr. Harju for not feeling a thing while I got shots for my fillings. I was really nervous and it went much better than I expected. My fear of going to the Dentist has decreased substantially.

My father in law lives across the street at Story Point Assisted Living and this was his first visit. Everyone from the front desk to the Dentist were extremely helpful and explained everything to him. He had several issues and they took the time to address each and put together a plan to get them all resolved. A very professional operation while still being friendly and caring! Highly recommend!

Dr. Harju and team are the BEST Dentist Group that my family and I have ever had!!! Dr. Harju takes extreme care to ensure that NOTHING ever hurts - I didn't know such a PAIN-FREE, blissful experience at any Dentist was even possible! His workmanship is beyond excellent!!! Dr. Harju treats all patients with the most genuine kindness and respect, and his leadership permeates his entire team. Your whole family will feel very welcome, but mostly, everyone will receive excellent dentistry treatment that is PAIN-FREE!

I have always loved Dr. Harju's office. Everyone is always so helpful and friendly. They make visiting the dentist a much more enjoyable experience. I have had about 14 years of bad dentistry. When I was 10, I broke my front tooth. The dentist filled in my natural gap and made a very large front tooth (left two pictures). It was a bulky tooth side to side, but also front to back. The large crown was also cased in metal, so for the last 7 years I was battling inflamed gums because of a metal allergy. Long story short, for thousands of dollars less than a cosmetic dentist, Dr. Harju gave me all of my options and let me choose. He was the first dentist to encourage me to keep my natural gap which was what I wanted. He found a custom shade lab to make sure my crown material matches my teeth and was very kind and made sure I was aware of what was going to happen before all of my procedures. I think he may have ruined all other dentists for me! His entire staff is kind and friendly and I am 100% satisfied...and the crown in the picture is just a temporary! I can't wait to see my permanent!
