Dr. Charles R. Kendall grew up in the Chattanooga, TN area. He moved to the Midwest in his early 20s when he met and later married his wife, Mary. Prior to his endodontic profession, Charlie worked for his church in youth ministries, coordinating international mission trips for high school and college students. His experiences and travels fueled his passion for helping people and relieving suffering. The field of dentistry attracted him as a very tangible way to make a difference in the lives of hurting people. After many hours shadowing the dentist in the practice where his wife, Mary, worked as a dental hygienist, Charlie was inspired to go back to school to become a dentist.
Dr. Kendall completed his prerequisite classes for dental school at the University of Missouri in Columbia. He then attended the University of Missouri School of Dentistry in Kansas City, graduating summa cum laude (#2 in his class), and immediately began a 2-year endodontic residency at the UMKC School of Dentistry. After completing his residency and then working as an associate in an endodontic practice, he and Mary set out to open their own practice in Lenexa. Their dream was to have a place that would be known for exceptional customer service, uncompromising integrity, and the highest possible standards of care.
Today, Touchstone Endodontics is a reflection of Charlies and Marys mission to provide patients with exceptional care and exceptional patient experience in a space that is warm and inviting. Every day, Dr. Kendall works to exceed peoples expectations for what a trip to the endodontist looks like. Patients love his down-to-earth, personable, and caring demeanor, and referring dentists appreciate his thorough expertise and honest opinion.
When Charlie isnt working, youll most often find him spending time with Mary and their 3 children. They are actively involved in their church and participate in a local youth ministry, New Change for Youth (NC4Y). His family loves camping, hiking, and spontaneous weekend trips to the Rocky Mountains. Charlie is a very accomplished violinist and an avid sports fan. He has his private pilots license and is an aviation enthusiast. Of all the things Charlie loves to do, root canals are right up at the top of the list. He regularly comments on how much he looks forward to work every day and getting people out of pain. He says it all the time: I love what I do!

Dr. Charles Kendall and his amazing staff made getting a root canal so much less stressful. I ended up having another procedure three weeks later and once again the staff made me feel at ease. Best place for sure.

I wasn't surprised to find all 42 reviews before mine with a perfect 5.0 rating. This practice is phenomenal. You're not going to find anyone better qualified or more concerned. I was having trouble tolerating the procedure for a root canal because of a sinus infection. Because of the way that they test things out before starting, to make sure you'll be able to tolerate the procedure, they were able to detect a problem, and I was able to get help before continuing with the procedure. After returning a few days later with the sinus infection under control, they were able to get everything done without any problems whatsoever. Thank you to everyone in this practice for being so kind and professional!

I strongly recommend Touchstone for any dental work. The staff was very welcoming. I was scared at first but they definitely made me feel safe and comfortable. I cant say enough of all the staff members at the office.

While getting a root canal is not the most enjoyable experience, the folks at Touchstone were caring and took the time in my evaluation to answer my multitudinous questions. When I needed a root canal, they were competent and continued to show care. I would recommend Dr. Kendall and the rest of the team highly.

Great customer service from check-in to check-out, including the hygienists and dentist. They explained everything in advance and answered my questions; they were very upfront with all details, options, outcomes, etc. Beautiful office setting that feels like "home". A great experience, and I would definitely recommend this practice.

This is the best place I have ever been that made my daughter who is extremely scary when getting anything medical done feel so comfortable. I would recommend this place to anyone. The staff are extremely nice and friendly. It is extremely clean and a welcoming environment. This will always be my number one spot for these type of referrals. I have nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Kendall and his team. They made sure I was comfortable my entire visit. Nobody wants to get a root canal, but everyone at the office made sure there was nothing to worry about. 10/10 recommend and if I need another visit in the future I will definitely be coming back. Touchstone Endodontics is the best dental experience that I have ever received, and that is saying a lot. They have great staff. Their work is beyond reproach.
