Dr. Andy Trinh studied Chemistry at the University of Washington before completing his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Washington. He participates in two dental study clubs to hone his skills and to stay on top of the latest and most effective dental procedures allowing him to provide the most comprehensive and high-quality dental care to his patients.
Born and raised in Seattle, Andy enjoys any and all sports and outdoor activities such as tennis, basketball, and rock climbing. Moving to Kirkland in December 2015, with his wife, Nancy, he is honored to be able to serve the community by providing transparent and high-quality dental care to the place he now calls home.

I grew up in Lynden along the Canadian border. Studied premed at Northwest University before completing dental hygiene school at SCCC in 2013. I love being able to help my patients improve their oral health while providing a relaxed and comfortable experience. I have 2 young girls who keep my husband and I very busy. We love to travel as a family, attend sporting events, go wine tasting, and stay active.
Becoming a Dental Hygienist was a goal of mine from a young age. I graduated from hygiene school in 1997 and never looked back! I get enormous satisfaction that every patient I see in the course of the day leaves healthier than when they arrived. My husband and I married 21 years ago and have 2 beautiful and creative boys, ages 14 and 8. When not caring for patients I am caring for my family and enjoy my daily coffee, reading, and walking/hiking with our 5-year-old golden retriever, Phoebe.
I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene from Oregon Institute of Technology in 2009. I love being a dental hygienist, and I genuinely care about my patients. I enjoy giving them the knowledge and tools to succeed at having a healthy mouth. I enjoy getting to know each patient, helping create a positive experience in the dental office. When I am not nerding out on the latest dental science or dental tools, I enjoy all the Pacific Northwest has to offer. I enjoy adventuring with my husband, dog, and family. Hiking, camping, rock climbing, biking, and gardening.
I have graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelors degree in Public Health in 2021, and I have been fortunate to have worked on Dr. Trinhs team as an assistant since March 2020. My passion in dentistry stems from forming relationships with our patients and providing them our best care. I plan on pursuing dental school in the future! Besides assisting, I enjoy going on hikes, weightlifting, and spending time with my friends and family.
I graduated from Lake Washington Institute of Technology with an Associate's Degree in the dental assisting program. I love working as a dental assistant and feel passionate about making our patients feel comfortable and welcomed. I am originally from Japan and love living here in Washington. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with family and friends as much as I can.

Highly recommend Dr. Trinh and his team, so much so that I now have my whole family seeing them. The space is clean, appointments are organized, and the staff is approachable, thorough, and gentle. Dr. Trinh and his team take the time to explain and answer any questions (not making you feel rushed), yet manage to keep your appointment starting and ending on-time. Happy to have found a dental practice I can trust.

Honestly, no exaggeration, Dr. Trinh and staff are top notch. All the dental hygienist are so easy to talk to and make it a really satisfying experience. Dr. Trinh is very hands on with explaining all procedures and what he's up to with looking at your teeth. I'm happy to go to this dental office! The whole staff is friendly and makes you want to come back!

Dr Trinh and his staff are very kind and friendly people. I went there to get my wisdom tooth removed when there already was some infection in that area that was causing intense pain. They thoroughly explained everything to me and answered all my questions. The subsequent surgery also went very smoothly. Highly recommended!

This is the best dental office I have ever been too! All of the staff is super friendly and welcoming. Dr. Andy explained in detail to me my dental x-rays and the weird pain I sometimes get. No other dentist I have ever had has done that. They just would say it is normal and continue on. I also really appreciated during the new patient exam I was asked if I have any kind of dental fears. This was a great question as many people do but I have never heard this question asked before! The gift i got after my exam was a high touch as well :) I highly recommend this dentist and will continue to go here.

I had a very great experience at Totem Lake Dental for my first appointment! Everyone on the staff was very kind, polite, and helpful. The front desk staff was friendly and the dental assistant was great; they both started my appointment off very positively. The dental assistant did a full set of images and x-rays, making sure I was comfortable the entire time. Dr. Trinh then came in to address all my concerns, including gum recession, root resorption, and teeth movement. We also discussed Invisalign. He did not seem rushed at all. He spent a good chunk of time with me, a answering all my questions in-depth. He is clearly extremely knowledgeable. The dental hygienist was extremely thorough, giving me great suggestions for my worry areas. I scheduled future appointments very easily and look forward to coming back! Thank you for a great experience. I'm excited to establish long-term care at such an amazing office.

My husband and I have been visiting this clinic for more than 5 years. We LOVE It! Dr. Trinh and all his team are AMAZING : very nice, friendly, knowledgeable and professional! From the moment you call them and then come to an appointment, you'll be provided with excellent customer service and patient care by all the team: starting from very nice Front Desk lady, Mariana, then medical assistants (sorry, Guys, I don't know all your names. All of you are wonderful), Hygienist, Stefany (there are several of Hygienists. I also don't remember their names, but all of them are great), and finally Dr. Trinh! Thank all of you for doing your job perfect!

This was the greatest appointment i've had in 20 years...Dr. Tran took me on as an emergency walk in and he got the job done along with Katrina his dental assistant in no time for an emergency molar extraction. He has good hands and zero pain. I am 41 years old and have had my share of dental visits but by far Dr Tran is one of the best. He is very calm and very quick yet thorough. The extraction took less than 3 minutes and numbing took 5 minutes. The rest of the staff was great as well. 5/5 stars! No pain....

Going to the dentist is one of my least favorite things. I tried out Totem Lake Dental based on their high rating here on Google search. I was not disappointed. The staff were all kind and professional. They asked me without being prompted if the dentist caused me anxiety and when I responded "yes." They made sure to explain what they were doing each step of the way and did their best to make me comfortable. Dr. Trinh was very kind and explained to me thoroughly what his plan for my follow-up treatments should be and what my options were. For my follow-up appointments, their staff member Kayla worked with me each time. She was super kind and certainly was caring about my comfort levels during a somewhat uncomfortable deep cleaning. She also gave me extra numbing agent (forget the name). Due to my red hair which I usually have to ask for. Thank you Kayla! Really appreciate this team anticipating my needs!

Honestly one of my best dentist experiences in my life, even in times of Covid. This is my first actual thought out review for any place I've been to. My first appointment was a regular x-ray and cleaning procedure. They were very thorough and so nice and helpful with making you feel at ease. Dentist appointments can be anxiety inducing for many, and although I was okay, it was nice to know that they would be understanding if I wasn't. X-ray and pictures of teeth were standard procedure/normal, but I do have to add that they were very informative. Andy would sit down and discuss what the damage is and explain how it happened and what steps you could take to promote a better dental hygiene for yourself, all while looking at the pictures from inside your mouth. Nothing is hidden!! The cleaning was one of the best I've ever had, and the hygenist was so sweet. They would ask questions and actually take the tools out of my mouth so I could answer, which really struck out to me for some odd reason. They would go over the meaning on why my gums are bleeding and why they were inflamed, what I could do to help and answer any questions I had. My second appointment was for a basic 3 fillings (1 front top right, 1 tooth / 2 back top left, 3 teeth). The numbing gel they used did not taste like anything which I really liked. I hate having the usual bubblegum taste in my mouth combined with the texture of the cotton swab. Worst combo ever. They let it rest for a couple of minutes after which the assistant made sure to check I was actually numb before having the doctor actually injected me. I did not feel a n y t h i n g. Not even the 'pinch' the doctor warned me about on my left side. This is the only reason I'm even writing this review. I've had previous dentists that would leave the swab for a minute and then inject me right after. It would hurt so bad that I would actually hurt my jaw from how tense I would get afterwards since I wasn't fully numb yet. And I have to mention that I am usually very good with pain, but my past experiences have definitely scarred me and made me wary of the unique pain that you only experience at the dentist. Anyways, the whole process of the filling and curing was quick and efficient. They even redid one of my first and only silver fillings and filled it with the white. This was such a pleasant surprise that I wasn't expecting it. I thought they would only drill where the cavity was, as my previous dentists have done, in between my teeth but they went beyond that. I am absolutely thrilled to have come here. There is no way I will want to go somewhere else. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who is on the fence and/or are picky on the whole experience. You will not regret it!! A special shout out to the entire staff, from the receptionist Mariana who is extremely helpful and accommodating, to the staff in the back, thank you!

I dislike going to the dentist and getting my teeth cleaned, but everyone at Dr. Trinh's office definitely made the experience much more enjoyable than my past experiences with other dentist offices. From the ease of getting something scheduled with Mariana to the detail oriented gentle cleaning from the hygienist Kayla. Dr. Trinh was also extremely helpful with answering questions on procedures. Would highly recommend.
