Would give it 0 stars if I could. The dentist did a totally unnecessary tooth extraction, which was the most unprofessional and traumatic medical appointment I've ever had. They did not make me comfortable even after being there for close to 3 hours. After getting other opinions, that's when I found out that I was just convinced of needing this procedure for the money. My tooth was not fractured and did not need to be extracted. Not only, I went back several times because my mouth didn't feel right, but never saw the dentist who did the extraction again. In those appts his hygienist would talk to me about a crown, when I specifically asked for an implant, and was told I was a candidate for one. I have moved and gotten another dentist that I trust who has been making my implant process much more tolerable than Total Smiles did with my extraction. Wouldn't recommend them unless you want to waste your money, time, and teeth.

Absolutely worse place to go. Customer service and manager never calls back due to not being there or to busy at the moment. Charged me out of network instead of in-network and scammed me into more dental work to make up the charge. Initially saw one dentist to fit a crown that was predone and he said he looked great then was scheduled for a different dentist and he said it was to bad to put the crown on. Ultimately not a good friendly and professional place.

Loved my experience here, and Dr. Kim was amazing! She's very friendly and great at her work. She explained everything to me and was super professional. Overall, wondering environment and would recommend.

Had such a great experience from start to finish! Heidi at the front desk was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant to speak with. The doctors took their time with me and explained everything thoroughly. I didn't feel like they were just looking at me as a money sign. They genuinely took their time with me and helped me with the next best steps to get me smiling again! I love the new doctors there! Great staff! Great job guys! I'll definitely be coming back!

Charged me for unnecessary dental work. Had to go elsewhere to have it done correctly. Waited 6 months for refund check, which was sent to the wrong address the first time, because they did inappropriate work and knew it.

I paid $75 for a teeth cleaning for my grandson and 2hrs later the cleaning still was not done. Asked for a refund and Julia said only billing can do the refund. I asked what billings number was and Julia said she can not give me that number and will call me about the refund. One week later with no contact from them. I went back to total smiles and spoke with Julia again. Julia stated Dr. Klein refused to give a refund of my $75 because a polish was done and that cost $75. My grandson is 14 with braces he needs a teeth cleaning, not a polish and a polish does not cost $75 especially when i did not ask for a polish to be done.

This was my worst experience at any dentist/doctor office. My appointment was at 9am; I didn't leave the office until 2 o'clock pm. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I could say a lot about this place, but I'll keep it cute. I wouldn't recommend anyone to this place. Listen to me and take my advice! Gladly I only had to spend $17 dollars on them.

This was my second visit here. The initial dental hygienists were nice both times. The male dentist I had today seemed rushed and somewhat careless with his work. He was spraying water everywhere while working on my teeth and even joked saying it was like a "shower." Then, one of the ladies working at the front desk tried really hard to convince me to get an expensive procedure done even though I already told the dentist "no." She asked if I was "afraid of my tooth breaking/cracking." Inciting fear into customers is extremely unprofessional, especially when the dentist already told you there is no rush to get the procedure done. This dental office is very driven by making a profit and not by making their customers happy. I will not be returning.

Imagine you're the front desk staff at this dental office. A prospective new patient calls, looking to set up appointments for the whole family, adults and kids. When do you tell the new patient that the office isn't set up for pediatric patients? Oh, you wait until the parent arrives for the appointments with children in tow, ask the parent to fill out the new patient forms, and only after going to the treatment area, the hygienist says, "I don't even know why they made this appointment for you, we don't have anything we'd need to treat kids." If you're looking for an office where the desk staff doesn't even know what services are provided, THIS is the spot for you!

Beware of this place! They overcharge my mom! For a crown and 2 filling over 3,000$ . they charged her for a root canal that she never needed! when she ask them for her money back from the root canal they didn't gave her the total amount of the money they stole her almos 200$ They actualy promised her at 5% discount, at the end they never gave her the discount... This people are thieves! And the worse and unprofessional people in Virginia.

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Peter at my last appointment! He had a very gentle touch and and carefully explained every step of the procedure while in process. The staff was friendly and knowledgable and the offices were very clean and modern. I am excited to have found such a great dental practice so close to home!

I was out of town working and had part of my tooth chip off. After filling out the contact request on the website I was contacted the very next day and offered a Saturday appointment. Not once in my life can I remember a dentist sitting me down to have a conversation before my visit. Initially I thought something was wrong(Like maybe I had a crazy look about me or something.), no it was them just taking the time to say hi and get to know me. Blew me away that they made that effort. That staff and Dr. Peter were AMAZING, He is also kinda cute :-) . Hands down the best dentist and staff I have ever visited. They deserve your business, you won't be sorry. If I am ever back in Richmond I will be sure to get any dental work taken care at Total Smiles. Thank You, Thank you, Thank you

I am always very nervous to go to the dentist but I can now say that I am not, thanks to Dr. Varno and her staff! I had to get an extraction and bone graft. It was surprisingly a very comfortable experience! The whole staff is so friendly and truly make you feel like you should have no worries! I'm forever a patient!

came in as a new patient to come do the $49 deal to get an X-ray and cleaning. Instead of doing the cleaning they wanted me to pay $600 for a deep clean ( which is fine) but refused to do the standard cleaning. Well when it was time to pay they still charged me the $49 and I never even got the cleaning just an X-ray! Drove 45 minutes out of my way to get nothing but pictures of my teeth. WHAT A JOKE. Don't waste your time with these jokers

Came in for a routine dental check up, I was very happy with my visit. The staff always makes you feel welcomed and eases any of your concerns from front desk to chairside. Would highly recommend Total Smiles for any dental procedure or emergencies!

Came in at 8:00 am appointment and was asked to wait for equipment to be sterilized. At the first appointment of the day, the equipment should be cleaned and ready to go. I previously had a tooth extracted and was given information about an implant. Had bone graft and everything in preparation. When I came back for implant, significant additional costs were brought up that were never mentioned before I started this process. This is a very dishonest place who do not clearly lay out what processes lay ahead. They are only interested is making you feel in danger if you don't have costly dental work. Get a second opinion before having anything done here.
