Dr. Doug Forbes grew up in Clover, SC, and graduated from the University of South Carolina with a biology degree in 1981. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina in 1985 and a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina in 1992.
Dr. Forbes is an active member of the South Carolina Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He also attends as many classes as he can to stay up to date with the most modern dental practices and technologies.
Dr. Forbes has practiced dentistry in Columbia for 24 years. He is a board member at the Richland and Lexington Family Service Center Childrens Dental Clinic; he also volunteers for the clinics. Dr. Forbes is a Commissioner for the South Carolina Higher Education Commission and a member of the Lexington, SC Chamber of Commerce.
In his spare time, Dr. Forbes has enjoyed working in real estate and home building. He is an avid golfer and spends time on the water boating. He is also a big sports fan, and he will occasionally host patients at University of South Carolina football games.

As part of a pre op clearance I had to had some dental work done. The staff was great and the work was amazing. I had a cleaning and two wisdom teeth extracted. Postoperatively i am experiencing no pain or swelling. Thank you Total Dental Care for your care

I scheduled an appointment with this dental office a few weeks ago, unfortunately due to a heavy work schedule I called the day of my appointment (three hours ahead) to cancel. I was told that I would be charged a 50 dollar fee. I decided to stay up after working a twelve hour shift so that I could make the appointment. Upon arrival I was met with a condescending and down right rude attitude from Amy. There was a discrepancy with my insurance, therefore I had my company insurance rep call and he was met with the same level of attitude. After a few minutes of being subjected to her attitude, I decided to cancel my appointment and look for a dentist elsewhere. Based off of her actions alone I will not recommend this office.

Best experience I've ever had at any medical or dental office. They stayed till 830 at night to get me fixed up so I would not be in any more pain. Very affordable. It was actually about 25 to 30% less than what I thought it would be compared to my other experiences with other offices. I can't say enough good things about the doctor and his staff and it fit in this review. I'm sold I will never go anywhere else. Very grateful Jeff Marshall

I have been a patient of Dr. Forbes for years. He would certainly receive a 5 from me because HE is great. However his billing person's demeanor is horrible. She argues and cuts you off when you're talking. She speaks to you as if you have no sense. Not personable at all. Honestly, I don't want to call Dr. Forbes office for having anxiety of having to talk to her. She treated me as if I didn't want to pay or couldn't pay, even after I explained that I was not told the extent of the procedure. $1800 paid in full without an explanation.

Well I thought I was at the right place! But I made the mistake of paying $7150 in full before my last appointment for "adjustment" and "final" polish on bridge...called twice, talked to three people in office? Going on 11 business days and haven't heard back or confirmed a appointment...guess that's how dentist 35 years in business role?

My father recommended this place to me years ago and I have been coming ever since . Just recently had a cleaning with Nicole and when I say she's amazing , SHE'S AMAZING! She definitely made me feel comfortable and made great conversation . She was very knowledgeable and answered not my questions. The staff was friendly walking in and out and every room was clean . Dr. Forbes is always on time and patient with the staff . Great service .

I love Dr. Forbes my smile is beautiful thanks to him!!! however this new front staff I agree is very rude and I honestly I dont feel comfortable talking with them or having them handle my business affairs .

I had a great experience at this office. Everyone from the front desk to the back office staff were professional and very on point. I was anxious, but the staff was super comforting and took extra time to make me feel at home and make sure I understood my treatment in detail. 5 stars all the way!

The receptionist and staff in front office. Are very unprofessional and rude.. I couldn't even explain my concerns without constantly getting interrupted. Spoke to 2 women. 1st lady named Amy got frustrated and decided to give someone else the phone to address my dental concerns. The 2nd lady who got on phone , She was just as unprofessional and very rude.. She was very argumentive with me. Does not need to be in Healthcare field especially when dealing with dental work with patient with anxiety. As I know alot of patient have anxiety when it comes to dental work. Need to be fired. No compassion whatsoever

The Staff is horrible, rude, and like to argue with customers. RUN STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. THEY MAKE YOU WAIT HOURS BEFORE YOU ARE SEEN AND THEY FORGET YOU HAVE APPOINTMENT. I WOULD GIVE THEM A 00000000000000000!!!

We have been going to Dr. Forbes for years since my daughter was 5 years old she is 18 now. We came in today for a dental emergency after talking on the phone with the receptionist. No one called us back so we went in. There was some billing issues we took care of and she told us she will put us down for 3pm and talk to the dr and give us a call back. That never happened. My daughter was in pain when she came in and left in pain. At 245 we called back to see what's going for her to tell us I'm gonna put u down for 11 tomorrow. What!!. Dental emergency. So whether or not he can see her or not a call would have been appreciated so we can make other arrangements. The service was terrible terrible. Maybe we were mind readers and just think we were coming in tomorrow for an appointment. I took off work for all this. All Christmas weekend my daughter couldn't eat or sleep with this toothache. My God where is the customer service. Yany or whatever that receptionist name is, get another job because that's not your field dealing with people. I'm finding another doctor, just terrible, absolutely disappointed .
