Monica is a native of Virginia Beach where she currently resides with her husband and blended family, including fur babies. With 16 years of experience, Monica is our practice manager & patient care advocate. She is the one who greets you with a smile (behind a mask, of course) & keeps our office running smoothly. When shes not in the office she likes to spend time crafting or by the campfire with friends and family.
Michelle is a native of western North Carolina. Inspired by the kindness and skill of her childhood dental team, her interest in dentistry began in the chair. She has been practicing as a dental hygienist since 2011 and with Total Care Dentistry since 2021. Outside of the office, Michelle enjoys reading, learning and outdoor recreation.
My name is Lydia, and I am currently a student at Old Dominion University studying Biology. I have been dental assisting for 8 years and my passion lies in the field of dentistry. I have had the pleasure of working with Dr. Wardius in the past and I am proud to say that I have been part of the TCD team since May 2021! One of the main reasons I was drawn to Total Care Dentistry is that Dr. Patti exemplifies the upmost integrity to everyone she encounters, and her ethics are in line with my own. I love being able to help patients achieve and maintain their oral health goals. Establishing trusting relationships with each and every patient is very important to me. I consider myself fortunate to be a part of such an amazing office. Outside of dentistry and school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, exploring new cities, hiking, biking, and as a native of Virginia Beach I love spending time at the beach.
Meet Lauren! Lauren is Dr. Pattis lead assistant since May 2021. She found her love for dentistry when she started assisting in 2012. She strives to assist efficiently and loves to build relationships with her patients, so they are comfortable when they come to the office. Lauren was born and raised in Virginia Beach & is a rescued dog mom who can be found on the beach when not in the office.
Introducing Josephine! Josephine is our amazing Patient Care Advocate, who joined the Total Care Dentistry team in June of 2021. Josephine approaches each new day with an enthusiastic and positive attitude. When not in the office, you can find her spending time with her friends and family, shopping and being outdoors.
Pam has practiced Dental Hygiene for 21 years. She is a local who grew up in Virginia Beach and Graduated from Old Dominion University of Dental Hygiene. She loves working with patients of all ages and especially enjoys helping her patients achieve their best health. When not at the office, she enjoys gardening, kayaking, yoga, the beach, and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Patricia (Patti) Wardius attended Northeastern University on an athletic scholarship to play lacrosse. She graduated in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy. She was part of a specialized team who provided comprehensive care to patients who sustained burn injuries in a Level 1 trauma center. She became the clinical manager of PT for all the inpatient services for Crozer Keystone Health System four years prior to changing careers. Dr. Wardius then followed in two of her brother' footsteps. She attended Temple University School of Dentistry and graduated Cum Laude in 2005 with a degree in Doctor of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Wardius is a native of Pennsylvania where she practiced in her home town with one of her brothers. After visiting Virginia Beach for multiple years, she decided to relocate. She is passionate about dentistry and how it relates to her patient's overall health and well being. Dr. Wardius realizes that everyone has unique situations and expectations. She works hard to listen and build a rapport with her patients so that she partner with them to achieve their goals for oral health.
Dr. Wardius resides in Virginia Beach with her adopted Greyhound, Tari. She loves everything sports related, outdoor activities, CrossFit, watching college basketball , and the FoodNetwork. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with the people who are important to her.

I've gone to this practice for a little over a year at this point and every visit is extremely comfortable and informative. I've been seen by Michelle and, newly, Courtney. Both are extremely kind, gentle and make great conversation. The entire office is personable and enthusiastic about their profession. Courtney was my most recent dental hygienist. It was my first visit with her and she was super fun to interact with. It was probably the most thorough clean I've ever had. "I'm here for you," she said and showed. She even cleaned my tongue web piercing, pain-free! She kept me informed throughout the entire visit, was comical and played great music. You can tell she and everyone else loves what they do and have created a home in Total Care. Dr. Patti is always amazing and takes great care of the staff and us patients. She makes a point to remember what you tell her from past experiences and creates fun and gentle conversation from it. The office is always clean and the front desk staff is welcoming and kind. There's love in the air here!

Dr. Patti (and team) are the absolute best in the area. Growing up, I went to a well known and family friend dentist and when Dr. Patti joined the practice, I immediately loved her. When she started her own practice, I of course followed, and since have been very happy with her care. She is always conscious of my anxieties when it comes to dental work, calms me in patient and kind ways, and forever encourages my efforts in trying to be brave ;) I have sent family members and friends to her practice, knowing that she will give them the same TOP NOTCH service. I'm so thankful for her care and expertise and know no other dentist will match her skills and kindness.

People Total Care Dentistry is exactly what it says Total Care I had not seen a dentist in years which means I had serious buildup dehydrated made sure that my cleaning was painless the dentist took care of my broken teeth she gave me back my smile I haven't smiled like this in over 10 years trust me Total Care dentistry in Virginia Beach Town Center Main Street I have found my forever Dental home thank you guys for a job well done you have giving me back my smile that makes me very happy thank you I went in for my cleaning people I tell you I laughed with the hygienist from the time I sat in her chair until the time I left it is such a pleasure going to the dentist now. I have never had a great dental experience in my lifetime so I stopped my yearly visits for sometime.After looking up reviews I chose to come to Total Care Dentistry and they were great. Michelle was very friendly and explained everything as she did it. Dr Wardius was amazing she was very gentle, went over all of my issues and plan of care. She was very personable and compassionate.

This office is one of a kind. The entire staff is friendly, thoughtful and patient. The doctor is patient, reassuring, educating and most importantly... she is always thanking her staff for their hardwork! She makes sure you know what's going on prior to procedure and answers your questions. The hygienist that cleaned my teeth did a wonderful job, she was very caring and gentle! The front staff is kind from the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out. Everything is always explained in detail and the reminder text they send out are extremely helpful for me. The assistants definitely make sure you are comfortable and make it known that they are there for you. If you're looking for a place to go, this is it!!

I was immediately greeted when I walked in with a smile. Everyone I encountered was genuinely friendly. I appreciated the thoroughness and commitment to ensuring I understood my dental health. Michelle, the dental hygienist, answered all my questions, provided reassurance, and left my teeth feeling very clean! Courtney was detailed and gregarious. Dr. Wardius made me feel as I was the only patient in the office. It was clear that Dr. Wardius was passionate about personalizing care and dedicated to patient education. I appreciated the billing team being completely transparent with my treatment plan. Thank you to the entire team at Total Care Dentisty! Your professionalism did not go unnoticed. I'd recommend this practice to anyone who is looking for a personalized experience with people who have your dental and overall health as their highest priority.
