Dental Director Dr. Virginia Graicerstein graduated for the prestigious New York University College of Dentistry in New York City earning a Doctor in Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. While there, she received the Dr. Bernard E. Rudner Memorial Award for demonstrating superior performance in providing oral comprehensive care. Prior to obtaining her degree from NYU she had already received an equivalent degree from Pontifcia Universidade Catlica-RS in Brazil, where she had a practice for close to 10 years.
Prior to joining Torrington Dental Care, Dr. Graicerstein has practiced dentistry in Fairfield, CT since 2003. Her special areas of interest include cosmetics, restorative, implant dentistry, and various aspects of surgery including extractions and grafting to preserve socket for implant placement as well as preventive care and patient education. Dr. Graicerstein says 'providing quality dentistry in a comfortable and friendly environment is my goal'.
Dr. Graicerstein has a reputation for exceptional patient care and for developing strong dental teams, which is highly valued at Torrington Dental Care. She is committed to professional excellence and regularly completes continuing education on new techniques and protocols. She has completed a mini residency in intensive implant placement and has studied CT scan and 3D cone beam reading and diagnosis. She stays current on the most modern dental techniques to provide superior outcomes for patients of all ages.
Dr. Graicerstein is a member of the Connecticut State Dental Association (CSDA), the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), where she is working towards a fellowship.
Outside the office, Dr. Graicerstein enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, photography and painting. Originally from Brazil, she is fluent in Portuguese and has a working knowledge of Spanish.
Dr. Ledjo Palo grew up in Waterbury, Connecticut. He is very passionate about his work, and always strives for the best possible outcome for every patient. He puts their needs first and offer a relaxing and inviting environment. Dr. Palo has undergone complex orthodontic treatment himself and sympathizes with his patients. He is familiar with the pain and uncomfortable nature of orthodontic issues. Dr. Palo has undergone rigorous training, which has given him an understanding of different dental specialties and options. Dr. Palo enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He loves traveling around the world and experiencing different cultures and cuisines. He is passionate about cycling and landscape photography. Dr. Palo speaks, Albanian, Italian and basic Spanish and is in the process of learning Chinese.
Dr. Palo received his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Connecticut, School of Dental Medicine. Dr Palo continued his education there and completed his orthodontics residency. Palo participated in numerous volunteering projects including Connecticut's Mission of Mercy, the Urban Service Track and Hartford Health Education focusing on teaching and mentoring young underserved children. He was involved in numerous research projects all focused on improving patient's comfort and outcome.

I went there twice for care and realised they care only about maximising there profits. First time they said I needed a deep cleaning for about a 1000 dollars before they can even work on my teeth. I didn't have insurance but would have gotten insurance to actually fix my missing teeth. So when I had insurance recently and went back to get a tooth pulled because it was infected, they tried to add on all these other procedures so they can charge me another 900 dollars, and said they didn't even have tome to do it. I'm in pain and they care about getting paid. My insurance would pay 300 for the extraction. So pull the tooth, get me out of pain. No , I cancel my wife's appt too because they don't even care enough to check whether she was covered on my insurance

Back in February Torrington Dental Care tried to tell me I needed 2 crowns on my teeth. After my partner (who was told he needed 3 crowns) ended up getting a 2nd opinion it turns out he didn't even need a filling, so I was skeptical and didn't go back. Today I got that 2nd opinion during a cleaning and it turns out I also did not even need so much as a filling. Don't let your friends and family go to Torrington Dental Care! They got bought out by new owners just before COVID hit and clearly are very comfortable destroying people's mouths with services they do not need. Very shameful and unethical!

Excellent office. Great staff and doctor explained in detail the treatment. Very professional and believe it or not a "relaxing" atmosphere. Would definitely recommend. Very satisfied with treatment I received, from front staff, hygienist and doctor.

Using Dr. Gracierstein for the first time, I was very pleased with her work. She made me feel comfortable, explained what she was doing as we went through the procedure, and used her timely in an efficient manner. Overall a pleasant experience and would recommend her to others.

At first, I was a bit apprehensive about the dental work that had to be done. For some unknown reason, I find it impossible to breathe only through my nose when my mouth is wide open ; and with a gag reflex that has plagued me for my entire life, I was sure that disaster would strike. The doctor and her assistant have the patience of angels. After what seemed like an eternity, it was over.

I have had horrible dentists in the past. Which left me with a very bitter taste in my mouth. I came to Torrington Dental Care in April with concern that I bad infection in my mouth. Luckily I was able to have an extraction and prevent any further damage from occurring. I was terrified! But Dr.Gracerstein and her assistant Dawn(I hope I'm getting the name right) completely put me at ease. I just turned my headphones on following the numbing and I was surprised that within one song she had the tooth out! I was amazed at how easy to procedure was! There was no pain during the procedure either! I strongly recommend this dental practice! Your health matters! YOU deserve a healthy smile, and a dental team that you can trust!

Went to my new patient exam and cleaning, didn't see the dentist- she stood outside the exam room and rushed out of the building before seeing me, no one told me if I had any cavities, looked at my X-rays, nothing. And also the hygienist rushed through my cleaning, and didn't give me an option whether or not I wanted a fluoride treatment (at 25 y/o) and then I had to pay out of pocket for it. 0/10 experience and I will not be returning.

My cleaning today with Wanda was thorough and nearly pain free. Both she and the dentist clearly explained a treatment plan going forward that was easy to understand. They also offer a dental plan and a flexible payment option which makes it easier to pay for their services. I would recommend giving this place a try.
