Dental Director Dr. Virginia Graicerstein graduated for the prestigious New York University College of Dentistry in New York City earning a Doctor in Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. While there, she received the Dr. Bernard E. Rudner Memorial Award for demonstrating superior performance in providing oral comprehensive care. Prior to obtaining her degree from NYU she had already received an equivalent degree from Pontifcia Universidade Catlica-RS in Brazil, where she had a practice for close to 10 years.
Prior to joining Torrington Dental Care, Dr. Graicerstein has practiced dentistry in Fairfield, CT since 2003. Her special areas of interest include cosmetics, restorative, implant dentistry, and various aspects of surgery including extractions and grafting to preserve socket for implant placement as well as preventive care and patient education. Dr. Graicerstein says 'providing quality dentistry in a comfortable and friendly environment is my goal'.
Dr. Graicerstein has a reputation for exceptional patient care and for developing strong dental teams, which is highly valued at Torrington Dental Care. She is committed to professional excellence and regularly completes continuing education on new techniques and protocols. She has completed a mini residency in intensive implant placement and has studied CT scan and 3D cone beam reading and diagnosis. She stays current on the most modern dental techniques to provide superior outcomes for patients of all ages.
Dr. Graicerstein is a member of the Connecticut State Dental Association (CSDA), the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), where she is working towards a fellowship.
Outside the office, Dr. Graicerstein enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, photography and painting. Originally from Brazil, she is fluent in Portuguese and has a working knowledge of Spanish.
Dr. Ledjo Palo grew up in Waterbury, Connecticut. He is very passionate about his work, and always strives for the best possible outcome for every patient. He puts their needs first and offer a relaxing and inviting environment. Dr. Palo has undergone complex orthodontic treatment himself and sympathizes with his patients. He is familiar with the pain and uncomfortable nature of orthodontic issues. Dr. Palo has undergone rigorous training, which has given him an understanding of different dental specialties and options. Dr. Palo enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He loves traveling around the world and experiencing different cultures and cuisines. He is passionate about cycling and landscape photography. Dr. Palo speaks, Albanian, Italian and basic Spanish and is in the process of learning Chinese.
Dr. Palo received his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Connecticut, School of Dental Medicine. Dr Palo continued his education there and completed his orthodontics residency. Palo participated in numerous volunteering projects including Connecticut's Mission of Mercy, the Urban Service Track and Hartford Health Education focusing on teaching and mentoring young underserved children. He was involved in numerous research projects all focused on improving patient's comfort and outcome.
