Torrance Oral Surgeon Dr. Samuel Tchon is a graduate of UCLA Dental School and completed his surgery residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College. His professional training includes an M.D. from Cornell University and an internship year in general surgery. A dedicatedoral surgeon in Torrance, Dr. Tchons expertise combines the disciplines of dentistry, medicine and surgery. He brings a depth of experience and is competitively qualified to perform the most complex surgeries and resolve complications when needed.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dr. Tchon also spent six years training and working in New York City before returning to his roots in the best coast. He is a lifelong Bruin, starting with his bachelors degree in microbiology, immunology, and molecular genetics from UCLA to his D.D.S. degree.
Dr. Tchon opened his practice in Torrance with the vision of bringing South Bay residents the best in dental implant technology and oral and maxillofacial surgery. He seeks to enhance patient comfort across the full spectrum of surgical procedures of the mouth, face and jaws.
With a special interest in improving oral disease prevention and treatment, Dr. Tchon has conducted extensive research in tissue engineering, working closely with internationally renowned dental implant experts.
When Dr. Tchon is not working in the office, he volunteers his services to the community and church; he has been on a number of dental mission trips internationally. He enjoys traveling, watching ESPN and spending time with his family.
Torrance Oral Surgeon Dr. David Smith is a Montana native who grew up in Lewistown. He completed his undergraduate education at University of Montana and is a graduate of the State University of New York- Stony Brook, where he earned his D.D.S. degree. Dr. Smith then completed a year of general practice residency in general dentistry before specializing in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He completed a 6 year dual degree program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, earning an M.D. at Weill Cornell Medical College as well as a year in general surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital- Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Dr. Smith began his dental training volunteering as a dental assistant in a federally funded dental clinic for the underserved. He was drawn to the profession and service of others thanks to the dedication and compassion to patients demonstrated by his mentor, Dr. Ryan Huckeby. Dr. Smith works to emulate his role model in all aspects of his career; he has volunteered his services in a cleft lip and palate mission with Smile Bangladesh, in addition to a dental/medical outreach trip to remote areas of northern Madagascar with the Madagascar Ankisy Fund.

Payment arrangements for account balances are due at the time services are rendered, so please bring your insurance card with you to your first visit. We accept many forms of payment, including cash and most major credit cards. You can also speak with our office administrator about flexible payment options available for major dental services.

I had a great experience with there service. I was very anxious for my surgery but the Dr was very knowledge able and professional. Staff was very helpful and understanding. Overall, l had a wonderful experience with Torri Med.

Dr. Tran and the team at TorriMed went above and beyond. I was surprised the procedure was quick and I hardly felt anything. When my husband needed to text Dr. Tran about my situation, Dr Tran called back instantly and answered all my husband concerns. Thank you again Dr.Tran for listening and caring for your patients.

I went to this office on two separate occassions. The staff is very caring and professional. If you have to have oral surgery, I would highly recommend Torrimed. The dentists are so good, I felt nothing when getting my extractions. Very attentive staff. I would give 10 stars but 5 is all that is allowed.

I got my four wisdom teeth removed and I have been terrified of visiting any clinic, dentist or orthodontist due to this. I can't believe I gathered courage to get four teeth removed in the same day! Dr. Huy Tran, DDS MD and his team did a great job, I went for IV sedation and was "knocked out" in 15 seconds and woke up 45 mins later being wheeled out the door. Now recovering and following post-op instructions for a pain free & quick recovery.

I took my son here to get all 4 wisdom teeth out. Dr. Sam was great. My son recovered perfectly and no pain. I will definitely return for my other kids before they get their braces and any other services we may need.

I got 12 teeth removed last week. I was given the twilight sleep and Samuel Tchon and his staff are miracle workers. I have extreme dental phobia and dental anxiety and his nurses was beyond kind to me they made me feel soooooooooo much better with their kind and caring gestures. They were very understanding. I feel like God himself did my dental work because after having 12 teeth removed I have had absolutely no pain whatsoever. I am forever grateful for this dentist office for basically saving my life. I have not gotten work done on my mouth in over 20 years due to fear and encountering dentist that cared nothing about me being scared. Thank you for giving me my smile back. I go for my check up today and I'm happy to go. This is big because I avoid the dentist office at all cost lol. Thank torrimed

I recommend going anywhere but here if you need oral surgery. The "doctors" have no compassion or expertise is clinical decision making. If the procedure you need isn't profitable enough for them, they say they can't do it (but they will make you waste your time and go into the office before they turn you down).

The receptionist is so rude and unfriendly and unprofessional absolutely inhumane. They only cares about billing your insurance not the patient. I had one wisdom tooth that was bothering me. I read the positive reviews here on yelp for this doctor and decided to make an appointment. I waited for two hours before the doctor could see me, which is ridiculous. The consultation started out well and I was notified that I would have all four of my wisdom teeth out (even though I kept saying I only wanted one out). So I ended up just walking out and received $180 bill (the x-rays and consultation).

I don't understand why they got good reviews. I have sent several emails over past week with no response. So I called them to ask some questions , but the staff was completely unprofessional and rude. Because they have been super busy lately? I don't know why but I am still in shock. I would not recommend this dental group!!
