Dr. Brian C. Tasto, a San Diego native, graduated from University of San Diego High School. He decided to go north in search of a college education at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California.
After playing collegiate golf for one year, he decided to hang up his clubs and focus on his studies. He graduated with a degree in biology and entered the UOP School of Dentistry the following year. After completing his doctorate, he returned to Americas Finest City and has been practicing here ever since.
Dr. Brian Tasto has been named one of San Diegos Top Dentists by San Diego Magazine yearly since 2010. He is very focused on continuing education and maintaining a state of the art dental practice. As a Cerec owner he is able to make a Porcelain Crown in one visit for a patient. With extensive training and years of dentistry his practice provides many aspects of General Dentistry, including Implants, Oral Surgery, Endodontics and Dentures.
Dr. James P. Tasto was born and raised in San Diego. He attended University of San Diego High School where he lettered in both golf and wrestling. After earning a Bachelors in Science from Loyola Marymount University, Dr. Tasto graduated from University of Southern California Dental School with an emphasis on cosmetics and sports dentistry. Dr. Tasto was the team dentist for the San Diego Gulls Professional Hockey Team. He takes extensive courses in cosmetic and restorative dentistry so that he can deliver the highest quality dental care for his patients.
Dr. James Tasto was selected by his peers to be included in the List of Top Dentists in San Diego for more than 15 years! He recently appeared issue of San Diego Magazine. Dr. Tasto is also a member of D.O.C.S. (Doctors Offering Charitable Services), a local organization that offers medical services such as plastic surgery, vision and dental to the less fortunate patients in San Diego. D.O.C.S. has been featured in the L.A. Times and San Diego Magazine.

I have been going to Torrey Hills Dental for over 7 years and have ALWAYS had the best treatment. From the moment I walk in, I am received expediently, my teeth are cleaned with the best hygienist and X-ray,s are taken chairside. Dr. Tasto is the best dentist I have ever had! I have worked as a treatment coordinator in a dental office and at a dental manufacturer (Calcitek) Trust me these folks are exemplary in their professionalism and they are experts in how they administer the treatment you require. So Happy to find an excellent dentist a few blocks from my home!! New town, new doctors...now new dentist! One of my porcelain veneers fell off recently. I read the reviews and decided to call Torrey Hills Dental. They got me in the next day!! My dentist was experienced, patient, kind and had a great personality. I trusted him immediately. He bonded my veneer back on and it looks great! I'm gong back to get a filling replaced tomorrow. Covid was hell for me and my teeth. I'm so grateful to find this place. Very down to earth and friendly. I highly recommend.

No one enjoys going to the dentist but the folks at Torrey Hills Dental make the experience as good as it gets. From the state of the art office to the excellent staff you feel immediately you are getting the best of care. Dr Brian and his brother Jim are up to date with the latest procedures and always have my comfort in mind. They treat you like a friend instead of a patient.

I always like coming here because my hygienist is very sweet and easy to talk to and accommodating while working. Sad to be moving away and needing to find a new place to go.

This was my first visit. Dr. Brian Tasto identified the source of some pain my previous dentist missed. He was personable, thorough, and clearly explained options. It was convenient and easy to make an appointment. Very positive experience!

I love this dental office! The front staff is great, hygienist's are so gentle, dentist's are knowledgeable and experienced and I am thrilled with my dental work. Outstanding dental care! Dr. Brian Tasto and his assistant successfully re-attached a loose crown on an older implant, without removing the crown. Quite amazing.
