Dr. Maria Claudia Torres is known to be a hardworking and dedicated dentist among her colleagues and patients. Since graduating from the Javeriana University in Bogota, Colombia in1985, she began practicing dentistry. Upon coming to the United States, she authenticated herdegree in dentistry at New York University, Institute for Foreign Trained Dentists. Shegraduated in 1990 and received her license to practice in 1991. Upon receiving her license, she opened up her first private practice. In 1997, she relocated to a new, beautifully renovated office in the heart of Jackson Heights, Queens. The office is currently equipped with the most advanced technologies dentistry has to offer.Dr. Torres is respected as a dentist that will go above and beyond to help her patients. She continues to push her educational boundaries in order to offer more help and more treatments. Between the years 2000 and 2006, she completed courses in Orthodontics in order to treat patients with the malocclusion of the jaw and teeth alignment. In 2004, she picked up an interest in studying the disorder of the temporomandibular joint and enrolled in New York University College of Dentistry, TMD and Orofacial Pain Hospital-based Academic and clinical training. During the following years, she studied abroad in South America and Central America, opening up her boundaries and learning from foreign dentists about the diagnosis and treatment of cranio-facial pain, TMJ, and bruxism. In 2009, Dr. Torres received an award from the Dental Society of Queens for obtaining more than 1500 hours of continued education in dentistry.
Dr. Torres continued her education in temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD). She attended more courses on how to diagnose and prevent TMD and began practicing on her patients and educating them on TMD and its symptoms. She attended conferences and courses on the latest technology to help treat TMD, such as BioPAK. Dr. Torres also began studying sleep apnea and how it relates to oral health. In 2009, Dr. Torres met the criteria required to receive a distinguished award which included spending five years treating head, neck, and craniofacial pain and TMJ disorders, continuing education credits in the field, two recommendation letters from sponsors and the successful completion of rigorous written and oral examinations. In 2010, she was Distinguished Fellowship from the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain. In 2014, Dr. Torres received a Diplomat from the American Board of Craniofacial Dental Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Torres concern is not only her patients oral health; but their overall health as well. She takes the time to explain to patients how the human body may have different organs and structures with different functions, but each function is somehow related to one another. A single visit to Dr. Torres will help any patient understand how their oral health affects their heart, lungs, liver, and any other joint or organ in the human body. Dr. Miranda is a Prosthodontist specializing in advanced restorative and implant dentistry. Dr. Jean Miranda received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus School of Dental Medicine. He completed a general practice residency at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY before continuing on to his 3-year post-doctorate advanced education in Prosthodontics at NYUs College of Dentistry. The program afforded him advanced training and clinical expertise in all aspects of complex restorations, the art of crowns, bridges, fixed removable, veneers, extractions, endodontics, and invisalign. He also serves as a teaching professor in NYU since 2013.
Dr. Miranda brings expert dental artistry and skill to every patient, treatment, and aspects of his work. He is a charismatic, enthusiastic and talented dental specialist professional with tremendous knowledge of dental care processes and procedures.
As a register dental hygienist in her native country, Colombia, Fanny is knowledgeable about how to properly take care of a patients oral health. She began working as a dental assistant in Torres Dental Group in 2013. Her experience and reliability give comfort to patients and other professionals in providing the best care. She makes sure each patient is received with respect and kindness while making sure she gives confidence to each patient about the care they are provided with.
Gricel joined Torres Dental Group in 2017 as one of our experienced dental assistants in the practice. Her many responsibilities include taking x-rays, impressions, assisting thedoctors during treatment and her favorite of all, communicating with patients. Gricel has a great sense of humor and loves to make her patients feel comfortable during their various procedures.
As a graduate of Business Administration from Plaza College in New York, Amarilis is very knowledgeable in management, sales and book-keeping. She has been part of the Torres Dental Group since September 2011 as a business assistant and has been in charge of the administrative duties as the front desk receptionist. She has excellent interpersonal skills and greets every patient in a courteous, respectful, and kindly manner. She is always available to help new or former patients in any way possible and makes sure each patient is taken care of. Amarilis enjoys helping patients with questions and concerns regarding insurance, financing and treatment planning.
As a pre-dental student at Hunter College, Maria is passionate about both dentistry and science. She began volunteering at Torres Dental Group in 2015 where she rose to her present position as a Dental Assistant and Receptionist. She has great multitasking skills which allow her to be found both in the back and front of the office. Her enthusiasm, knowledge of dentistry, and eagerness has led her to intern at UCLA, NYU, and volunteer at Elmhurst Hospital. She will be attending Stony Brooks School of Dental Medicine as part of the class of 2023. Her cheerful personality and decision to pursue dentistry reflects the way she interacts and cares for our patients.

I just came back from a visit to this Dental Practice. Firstly Evelyn is the Receptionist that I spoke with and helped me fill out the paperwork. She is friendly, kind, helpful and knowlegable, really the first person one would want to encounter on any visit to Medical or Dental Office. Fanny was the Girl who did the Xrays, and the cleaning. Another lovely , kind individual. I met with Dr. Marie Torres and she was very Kind, informative and helpful when making decisions about further dental work I may need. The Office and waiting area is clean and the floor is marked in order to make Social distancing easier for the Patients. If you are due a Dental visit then I highly recommend this Office.

I usually dont post reviews but after my experiences here, I felt highly compelled to write one. Finding a good dentist is difficult but I could not be happier with my transition to Dr. Torres and Dr. Suoto. Both doctors are very knowledgeable, take their time to explain everything to you, and never make you feel rushed or obligated to a service. What's even better- they were able to see me last minute for an emergency and emergency follow up a couple of days later. I had to wait until the end of September to see my usual dentist, while Torres Dental Group was able to accommodate me same day. Receptionists, dental assistants are all super lovely and friendly. I'm eternally grateful for finding this practice and making it my primary dentist. Not enough good things can be said!!

I have full confidence in Dr Torres and you should too. She is thorough, intelligent and kind. Her staff is also kind and patient. INCREDIBLE customer service. They are all great people. The only downside is that all dental work is expensive, and not always covered by insurance. However, at Dental Torres Group you get exactly what you pay for, which is high quality care.

We had a great experience with Dr. Torres and her staff. Dr. Torres saw my son as soon we got to office. She was super professional and was very knowledgeable. I may say she is very meticulous and she takes her time explaining us my son condition, what causes and the options we have. She covered all our questions. I highly recommend her.

I could not be happier with the results and professional care I received at Torres Dental Group. Dr. Torres, herself did my new patient intake and evaluation. She carefully inspected each and every tooth. She made suggestions to replace outdated work that was starting to fail due to age. Dr. Torres, suggested replacing my outdated crowns on my two front upper teeth. She also suggested crowning the two damaged teeth on each side, for a total of four crowns. She explained that there are better materials today and she made me feel comfortable with the entire process. Dr. Torres put me in the capable hands of Dr. Souto, a highly qualified member of her team. He walked me though each step of the process as it was preformed. He was happy to address any questions and concerns I had. Over the next few weeks, Dr. Souto's expertise clearly showed. Not only did he make curtain that the four new crowns fit perfectly, but he made adjustments to the crowns that filled gaps and straitened my front teeth. He selected a perfect tooth color so that the new crowns matched the surrounding teeth. I am overwhelmed with the final results. Because this process involved four crowns, there were several visits. The Torres Group support team made it easy. They scheduled every appointment to meet my needs. They sent reminder and confirmation texts. Best dentist in the world.. I suffer a lot jaw pain all my life. I visit a lot different doctor no body find the problem . I suffer a lot headaches, back pain and jaw pain. The first day that starts the treatment all pain disappears. I fell very happy l have 8 years visiting her to do my cleaning and X-ray every 6 months for my check up. Very professional the dental hygienist there are excellent 1 hour cleaning very nice. Office is very clean and perfectly.Dental torres groups is the best Dentist in Queens.
