Dr. Carroll is a graduate of Dartmouth College, as well as Tufts University Dental School. He was also an instructor of prosthodontics at Harvard Dental School from 1976-1980. He moved to Topsfield in 1977 with his family and began the practice. He and his wife, Nancy, have two children a daughter named Lauren and a son, Gregory. Gregory joined the practice as a dentist in 2007.
Dr. Atwood grew up in Topsfield before studying biology at Bowdoin College. She went on to Boston Universitys Goldman School of Dentistry, earning her DMD in 1987 and her AEGD in 1988. After finishing her post graduate work, she returned to Topsfield to join Dr. Thomas Carroll, and has been practicing dentistry with him ever since. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, skiing, visiting the National Parks, and spending time with her husband, Chris, and their daughter, Hannah, and their son, Sam.
Dr. Gregory Carroll graduated from Middlebury College in Vermont before moving on to Boston Universitys Goldman School of Dentistry. After graduating in 2007, he immediately joined his father and Dr. Atwood at Topsfield Dental. Dr. Carroll is a member of the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Dental Society, and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.

I've been going to Topsfield Dental Associates for over 25 years and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. Drs. Atwood and Carroll are true (and self-acclaimed) "dental nerds", loving everything about their practice and delivering top-shelf service using the latest technologies available. They and their entire staff are knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Whether it's a routine appointment or urgent issue, they all treat everyone with compassion and respect. I'm no stranger to their office and my teeth are the beneficiary of their work excellence.

Dr. Greg Carroll and his team are by far the best. I've been to several practices in the area for dental issues before switching to Dr. Carroll's practice. With Dr. Carroll, I've had a new cap implanted and few cavities filled. He and his team have been very mindful of my sensitive teeth, and I've practically experienced little to no pain during procedures (this was never the case at other practices). I've been extremely satisfied with his approach and treatment. Another aspect of his practice that stood out (contrary to prior experiences) was that he has never bad-mouthed or been skeptical about procedures done by other dentists on me. It also adds to the experience when his office staff is welcoming and accommodating.

I love this place. I've been a customer for 15 years and they have been so consistently good. Even during COVID they were on top of the ball. This place all the charm and friendliness you would expect from a small, local, family-run business. Yet it's run so professionally: they are always on time, they communicate well, they have great technological support and they deliver great dental work. Can't say enough good things about Topsfield Dental Associates.

An anchor tooth to a 30 yr. old bridge cracked leading to an infection. Dr. Meryl Atwood squeezed me in for Xray & consult & an antibiotic was prescribed. Once the infection was quieted, the tooth & old bridge were removed. Our family has had Dr. Atwood as our dentist since 1987 & we appreciate her skill, advice & care.

From the front desk to the hygienist to the Dr, every visit is personal, professional and caring. They do a fantastic job of getting to the "root" of your problem and fixing it. They have also worked with me on the finance side making some of the specialty work I've needed done (like root canals) not only painless, but also something I could afford.
