Since she graduated from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 1989, Dr. Nancy Nehawandian has treated thousands of patients with impressive results. As a TMJ pain patient, Dr. Nancy Nehawandian has a personal interest in TMJ and neuromuscular dentistry. Her never-ending quest for education has exposed her to many different TMJ treatment avenues. Since receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of the Pacific in 1989, she has dedicated her career to keeping at the forefront of the latest developments in order to provide her patients with the best science, services, and technology available.

Dr. Nancy Nehawandian has taken over 2,700 hours of continuing education, passed several exams in various disciplines as a cosmetic dentist in order to earn a mastership and four fellowships. She has been recognized by other dentists as a leader and an example to other dentists of the importance of quality continuing dental education to patient care. When a dentist has achieved Mastership and fellowship Awards, patients can be assured that their cosmetic dentist is dedicated to providing the finest care in both cosmetic and general dentistry.

But a skilled cosmetic dentist also needs a strong foundation in general dentistry. In 2006, Dr. Nancy Nehawandian was awarded a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD), placing her among only 7% of dentists in the country who have earned the distinction. A Fellow in the FAGD is recognized by other general dentists as a leader who highlights the importance of quality continuing dental education. Dr. Nehawandian also followed up her AGD fellowship with a Mastership in 2015! Placing her among only 1% of dentists in the United States. A general dentist who has earned the designation Master of the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD) has completed a structured and demanding set of requirements involving all 16 dental disciplines.This accomplishment meets the highest criteria for professional excellence. Masters serve as mentors and leaders to other dentists pursuing continuing dental education. They set examples in their communities with their hard work, concern and involvement.

A cosmetic dentist should be skilled in performing dental implant procedures, since that is the highest development of cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Nehawandian was also awarded a fellowship from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). To achieve this status, a dentist must document their successful dental implant cases, complete a minimum of 75 hours of continuing education in implant dentistry, submit a letter of reference from another ICOI fellow, and complete an additional 75 hours of continuing education in implant dentistry with 5 years of receiving the fellowship.

A leader in the field of Comprehensive Aesthetic Dentistry, Dr. Nancy Nehawandian has also achieved the status of LVI Fellow after completing over 300 hours of continuing education in advanced aesthetics and neuromuscular science at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. This places her among the 1% of cosmetic dentists in the United States who have achieved this honor. She also followed her LVI fellowship with a fellowship from the International Association of Physiologic Aesthetic (FIAPA).

She achieved her fourth fellowship with the International College of Cranio-Mandibular Orthotics (FICCMO) after passing an exam demonstrating her thorough understanding of treatment of TMJ dysfunctions.

When I am away from the office I enjoy traveling with my husband, cooking, and volunteering. Some of my volunteering projects have included tutoring at the College of Adaptive Arts, feeding a feral cat colony for population control, and using my dental hygiene skills to provide services to our veterans.
