Dr. Jeffrey Toothman takes great pride in creating beautiful healthy smiles for his patients. He strives to provide excellent treatment in a fun and friendly environment. He understands that good treatment involves more than simply straightening teeth, as every patient deserves to leave our office with a smile on their face.
He loves spending time water and snow skiing with his family. He loves being outdoors, either playing with his girls or working in his yard. Dr. Jeff is also an avid bicyclist and can often be found peddling up any of our Western Maryland mountains.
Dr. Powers loves giving his patients more reasons to smile. He is passionate about providing high-quality orthodontic care to his patients in a comfortable and positive environment. He is a strong proponent of patient education and empowerment, working hand-in-hand with patients to achieve their treatment goals. Michael is also always learning and staying abreast of emerging technologies and treatment methodologies to besttreat his patients.
Dr. Powers grew up in Silver Spring, MD where he attended James H. Blake High School. He currently lives in Rockville, MD with his fianc Tiffany who is a nonprofit consultant at Accenture. Outside of the office, he enjoys snowboarding, rock climbing, and hiking. He is also a big fan of the University of Maryland Mens Basketball team and holds season tickets. Go Terps!
1. Family Practice We are a father and son Orthodontist team that has built our practice on the philosophy that everyone is treated like they are family. Over the last 40 years, we have treated mothers, fathers, children, grandchildren, cousins, neighbors, and friends, and are proud to have them become a part of our extended orthodontic family.
3. Education and Training We are both certified, trained, Orthodontic specialists, and stay at the forefront of our field. We understand the importance of the relationship between the teeth and jaw. We not only correct the positioning of the teeth, we focus on proper airway function, evaluation and treatment of TMJ dysfunction, and multi-disciplinary approach for optimal facial esthetics and treatment efficiency. We are also a member of a geographically exclusive national study club called, Schulman Study Group (SSG).
5. Reducing Treatment Time We take pride in making your treatment as efficient as possible. Along with the scanners and 3-D printers, we additional offer Precision techniques, and Biolux infrared bone stimulation, which assist in shortening the length of time in brackets or clear aligners.
7. Flexible Payment Plans & Insurance Our team is always happy to discuss our affordable monthly payment plan options, interest free options, and will assist you with your insurance claims and benefits.
8. Baby Tooth Club For our younger patients who are not quite ready for treatment, we offer complimentary growth and guidance program. This program monitors skeletal and dental development, to ensure that treatment begins at the appropriate time.
9. Feeling Right at Home Our familys team members will greet you with a warm friendly smile and are always happy to assist you with any questions or concerns that you may have. While you wait, feel free to enjoy our coffee bar, Wi-Fi access, and electronic games in our comfortable seating area.

Dr. Jeff and his team are wonderful, compassionate and understanding! I have had 2 children in their office. 1 Invisalign and 1 braces with herbst. The smile on my son's face should say it all!! Total transformation! My son is all smiles and has more confidence. My daughter has been out of Invisalign for over a year and is thrilled with every smile!

I searched for a good orthodontist office for a few months and after a recommendation to Toothman Orthodontist I can honestly say I'm so glad I made the choice I made. The staff there are wonderful and have so much patience even with me being an adult. The best part of course is my ending result that I am EXTREMELY satisfied with. I will miss having my monthly or bu Monthly visits with them but I will definitely be bringing my children to this office when they need braces. I thank the staff there and Dr. Toothman for giving me such confidence in my new smile.

We chose Toothman Orthodontics for my daughter's orthodontic work because my younger brothers had gotten theirs done there and both had great experiences. From the initial consult through the end the staff at Toothman were wonderful to work with. They are caring and fun professionals who make the whole braces thing a lot less daunting. Their office is clean, nicely decorated, and well run. They are also great about supporting their community by doing drives for various charities and clubs. Our family would recommend Toothman Orthodontics over and over again!

From the first consultation, to the very last appointment, you are treated like family. Our two sons had their braces put on as teenagers and both had a great experience with Toothman Orthodontics. The front desk always greets you with a smile, they accommodate your busy family schedules to get the appointments you need, and the back office staff treats each patient with true kindness. Our sons are now in college and if there is an issue with a retainer and such, they make it easy to come by, when the boys are home, to do what needs to be done. Whether you see Dr. Toothman or Dr. Jeff, you are in great hands. I highly recommend Toothman Orthodontics. The proof is in the gorgeous smiles of all of their patients.
