I had been with the same dentist for 50years. He is considered brilliant and even revered by his peers. So try replacing someone like that! It's taken more than a year but my search finally ended today. Thank you Dr Mehlman and kudos to Gina for a much needed cleaning.

This morning I had my regular teeth cleaning and net hygienist, Gina. I am so happy to be the 1st person to write a review of my experience because she was absolutely fantastic and despite my age (which I will not disclose lol) she taught me something I had no idea of about plaque and precautionary measures. Thank you Gina. I hope others who've the pleasure to meet you feel the same way.

BEWARE: Dr. Mertz's office did not submit claims to my dental insurance company, and now they are sending me bills from 2 years ago. Even sent one to a collection agency before contacting me. These bills had to be submitted to my dental insurance within 13 months, so now I'm stuck with the bills due to their incompetence. Total of $700.00. I am not paying these bills, I pay a lot for my dental insurance. I am now in the process of filing complaint against Dr. Mertz with the NJ State Board of Dentistry via the NJ Attorney General, per my congressman. If anyone else is experiencing similar billing problems, please contact me. Theresa Kostbar UPDATE: funny the owner hasn't responded to my comment, but has to everyone else. I continue to receive bills because they did not submit to my dental insurance.

Dentist is good with his asthetics assistants are great the one star is for the front desk while you are there communication is great afterwards there is no follow up or if you call there is not a return call this needs improvement immediately if there is not enough staff perhaps corporate needs to step in and hire more staff to accommodate patient flow for front desk. Dental health associates is the corporation for this office and so far are not looking after this office and it's needs.

Awful front desk experience! I have been going here for several years and recently moved up north, but continued to drive back down for appointments as I've never loved going to the dentist and was very comfortable here. I had a cleaning scheduled Friday of last week and called letting the front desk know I was stuck in traffic as there was an accident on the parkway and I was going to be 12 minutes late. I was rudely told they can no longer see me then. I begged as I was only 5 minutes from the office by this time and explained I live 1.5 hours away and took a half day of PTO for this appointment. She said there was nothing she could do and wouldn't even go ask the hygienist if it was possible. I mentioned that the last time I was there for my cleaning I waited 26 minutes before the hygienist came in because they were understaffed. I did not understand how they could have you wait 26 minutes, but if an out of your control circumstance happens and you are 12 minutes late they can just simply no longer see you. I have never had an experience as such with any medical professional. I had to turn around and drive 82 miles back home... a complete waste of time, PTO and GAS. I let her know I will not be able to reschedule as I worked during their operating hours and will not waste more of my time off on this so I will be finding a new dentist. Her response was to let them know when I do so they can send my records. Talk about horrible customer service. Such a shame for my dentist to have lost a patient because of the poor skills of other employees.

I have been going there for a couple years now and honestly, the hygienist and the dentist are super nice...but... the two women that work the front desk are super rude and nasty! I had an issue with them switching my appointment at the last minute which is the second time they've done this this year I might add, and when I expressed concern saying that it doesn't work for me, I received attitude from the receptionist named Lauren... well, it took over a week for the office manager to speak to me and I had to track her down because she never contacted me and I think her name was Yanni...no clue... but she basically stuck up for her employee without even hearing my side of the story and not understanding her patient's concern... she actually had the nerve to tell me to "knock it off" and "that I'm not happy unless I get my way"!! seriously!! She was talking to me like she was my friend or family member but it's okay because I dumped this doctor's office unfortunately because I'll never deal with them again and they are a disgrace!

The front desk people are terrible. All the bad reviews on the receptionists are 100% accurate. Everyone else is great besides them.

Great Practice Terrible Front Desk I've been going to this practice more than 10 years and had great experience all this time. My uncle got his implants done with 100% satisfaction. I brought my niece and nephew there.... Yesterday, I took my kids to their appointment and when we walked in I was told that my 2 sons' appointments need to be rescheduled. I told to receptionist that they called and confirmed last week which they always do and receptionist told me that she called yesterday and even tho I answer the phone she said she couldn't hear me and had to hang up. When I asked her if she tried again, she said she tried twice. I kinda surprised bc I don't recall I had a phone call from them. I went to my phone since we live in tech age now and found out one call from this practice and took 14 seconds. Most probably phone rang and answered itself in my pocketbook or some bad connection....It happens....Nobody's fault...That's why she didn't hear me. Anyways, when I asked her if they send me a text message -which they usually do- or if she try to call again, she start getting upset and rude that telling me she's not gonna learn her job from me. She obviously didn't like that I questioned her phone skills. Not only that, this receptionist Jill, didn't even stop there and she got the nerves to tell me while I was waiting her to reschedule my kids next appointment, she told me; she is not rescheduling my kids next appointment till I get home "COLLECT" myself and call her back. Waoww! What a NERVE! I took a half day off from my work to take my kids to dentist appointment which is scheduled 3 months ago (Bc of Corona everything is backed up) and receptionist whose job is to confirm or reschedule appointments only calls once and for some reason if the call doesn't go thru she doesn't even calls back and makes sure everything goes smoothly. Meanwhile, another front desk person who claims that she's the "OFFICE MANAGER" jumps into the conversation from back of the counter and asking me if they're lying? Where did the "lying" come from.? I didn't say anything like that but made me think if she's implementing that I was lying. And you know what, yes she was lying bc there's only 1 call from this facility on my phone yesterday not 2. I asked "OFFICE MANGER'S " name she was very rude to say she won't tell me her name. Also "OFFICE MANAGER" told me that Jill makes 50 calls a day to confirm appointments. Are you guys a JOKE over there? What are you scared of that you don't tell me you name? And of course, Jill will call 50 people a day bc it's her JOB for God sake! Instead of apologizing for the inconvenience that they caused and trying to to help me with a new appointment, they acted very unprofessional and rude. Terrible front desk people. One simple task escalated to this far, it's unbelievable! I know it's very hard to find people to work in these days. However, it doesn't mean that those people you hired got the right to treat clients rude and unprofessional. I used work as receptionist as well and making sure your clients satisfaction is one of the most important thing you do as a front desk attendee. It's not a complicated job. If it is so, let me give you a great advice "find something less complicated!" So long story short, there're great people working back there as dentist, and dental assistant and as technician only if you can cross the front desk barrier!

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT THERE and we LOVE Donna. She was so patient and kind with my nervous special needs brother-in-law. He left the office smiling! (That was not the case with other dental offices we've been to.) Donna gave great instruction and recommended products that would help us care for my BIL oral health better. We know he's in good hands with her and the rest of the staff !

I had chipped a front tooth and went to get it fixed ASAP, because nobody wants a chipped front tooth. My appointment was for 5PM I arrived at 4:45 and did not get called back until 5:45. By then they told me all the dentists left for the day and I was only there for them to look at my chipped tooth.. which doesn't make any sense. They also did not understand why I was upset and they were very rude. I will never be back and will never recommend TR Family Dental to anybody. Do not waste your time.

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST!! Endodondist stuck me 4 times with that needle like I was a pin cushion!! No numbing area first. He was busy and in a hurry jumping from patient to patient. He hit a nerve in one of the shots. Just stabbed me with those needles!! Omg it was SO PAINFUL!! My body was shaking afterwards. WORST EVER!! BEWARE!!

I had a cleaning with Donna and it was the BEST experience I've ever had at a cleaning. She truly gave me luxury treatment. She even did a check for cancer and thyroid issues which I've never had done before at a dentist but it was much appreciated! She was so thorough in her work and not only is she great at what she does but she is also friendly and personable and took every step to make sure I was comfortable. My teeth look and feel great. 5 star experience!!
