The best dentist office that I've ever gone to and the entire staff is always great from beginning to end. It's really nice to find a place that you feel comfortable with and not getting xiety before and during.

Dr. Hiemstra and her entire team are so kind and have the best chair-side manner. She also did an incredible job replacing a large, old filling. Quick and gentle as always.

I've always been terrible at going to the dentist, even as a kid when it was my parents' responsibility to make appointments and take me. My past dentists were always okay, but uncomfortable enough to where I avoided seeing them--so much so I let a good handful of cavities develop. A friend of mine recommended I visit Dr. Hiemstra, as she is like me and hasn't liked to bite the bullet and go to the dentist, either. She told me the staff (all of which are women) are kind, communicative, and sure to ask if the patient is comfortable or not, as well as mentioned Dr. Hiemstra is all of the above as well--and I have to say, after only three visits, I agree. The office is very clean and welcoming, their equipment state of the art. I'm always called into the back at (or before) my appointed time--the only time I've had to wait is when I've arrived early. I had even once been called the morning of one of my appointments ,notifying me that the time slot before mine had been cancelled and they could see me earlier if I wanted to, but if not, they'd see me at my original appointment time. Tammy and Debbie work the desk, and both are incredibly kind and will work with you best they can to coordinate any upcoming work needed and/or schedule future appointments. The office is understanding if you don't have insurance either, they do offer 10% off for out-of-pocket payers like me, and offer a cleaning with a full examination, including x-rays. The cleaning I received was probably the most comfortable one I've ever had in my life, and the only one after which I left the office feeling like my teeth were truly clean... I'm still amazed the hygienist was able to do such a good job even under my permanent retainer. I felt like a new woman, even with all of my cavities I still needed filled. I felt no judgement from Dr. Hiemstra when she told me the amount of cavities I had, and when I went back for fillings, her and her assistants did a great job of both making sure I was comfortable AND that my fillings matched my tooth color extremely well (and my vanity really appreciated that). And speaking of comfort--I'm notoriously bad at taking shots and am hard to numb, but Dr. Hiemstra is truly an expert. She was understanding of my discomfort and stopped work immediately after I said something about it, and while the shots were uncomfortable (as are all shots), none of them actually hurt--not even the one put in the most sensitive part of my mouth--but her assistants were great at asking me how I was feeling (or not feeling, thanks to the medication) before work began. And afterward, when the numbness dissipates, there is only minor discomfort on the teeth that had been filled, which is better than I can say about any other dental filling I've had before.... And I should mention, one of those cavities was the Grand Canyon of cavities. A lack of pain after that kind of filling doesn't seem realistic, but it's the truth. I don't live in Tomball--in fact, I live within the 610 loop--but I am entirely willing to make the commute out to Tomball Family Dental to get my work done... I don't need to avoid the dentist anymore.

Tomball Family Dental is an extraordinary family dental office. Dr. Hiemstra and her staff are professional, knowledgeable, friendly and very patient-focused. I knew the moment I called for an appointment this would be my family's dentist. In other words, I had a good warm and fuzzy. Mrs. Mary answered the phone (I could tell she was smiling) and was very helpful with scheduling my appointment. She also went out of her way helping with insurance by calling and checking our policy. Day of my appointment, as I enter the office, I notice it is state of the art and immaculate. Dr. Hiemstra is thorough and efficient. I was called back at my scheduled time and never waited a minute. She reviewed my previous dental history, asking several questions getting to know me. While performing her dental procedures, I was fully aware of everything that was happening. I highly recommend Dr. Hiemstra and can assure you will be just as pleased as I was.
