After graduating from Ontario High School in 1994, Dr. Tolman attended Rick's College and received an Associates Degree in Pre-Medicine. During his time at Rick's College he spent 2 years serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Guatemala. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Idaho State University in 1999 graduating with High Honors. He then attended Oregon Health and Sciences University School of Dentistry where he graduated in 2003.
Dr. Tolman has been practicing dentistry in Lebanon since July of 2003 and has enjoyed getting to know the people of the local area. He is committed to providing excellent dental care to his patients by continually expanding his knowledge of modern dentistry. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association, Oregon Dental Association, Southern Willamette Dental Society, and Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Tolman enjoys serving the dental needs of those in less fortunate countries, including Guatemala and Peru. Photos and video of some of his service in Guatemala can be found on ourGuatemala Dental Trips page.
During the past several years I have been able to lead a team of dental volunteers with Hirsche Smiles Foundationto Guatemala to serve the dental needs of people in remote villages. As always, we see much need for dental care among both children and adults. Procedures performed included extraction of teeth with extensive decay, extraction of abscessed teeth, and fillings. The majority of the procedures being extractions.
The best part about these trips is seeing the appreciation in the eyes of patients who come in with oral facial pain and sometimes much anxiety. They are very timid and scared at first, but once the procedure is completed they many times give us a big hug and tell us 'Thank-you'.

'It has been my pleasure to have been in the dental profession for 32 years. I enjoy the daily interaction with patients and the opportunity to make great friends along the way. When I am not at work I enjoy camping, working on craft projects, or spending time with my children and grandchildren.
'I am a California transplant but have lived most of my life in Oregon. I graduated from Sweet Home High School and LBCC Dental Assisting program. Throughout the years I have attended many continuing education courses and love to learn new things that relate to dental care.

Amanda graduated from Lane Community College in 2010 with an Associates in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. She has been working for Dr. Tolman since 2011. Amanda grew up in Lebanon. She enjoys gardening, baking, DIY projects and camping with her husband, two sons, and two dogs.
'I graduated from Chemeketa Community in Salem, Oregon. At that time, I obtained my CDA and EFDA certifications. I have been a chair side assistant since 1998 and have the pleasure of working with Dr. Tolman since March 2013.
'What I like most about my job is the patients. Even though the procedures can be sometimes the same, the patients can make it fun and interesting. Never a day goes by where I don 't try to learn something new. So far, I have met many wonderful patients and enjoy being able to assist Dr. Tolman with their dental needs.
'On a personal note, I am a true Oregonian! I have three wonderful boys; Garrett, Trey and Declan. My husband, Joe, and I enjoy spending time with family and enjoying the outdoors. In my spare time I enjoy working around the yard or a good book.
'I was born and raised in Albany, Oregon. I graduated from the LBCC dental assisting program and received my CDA, EFDA and EFODA. My husband and I briefly relocated to Kentucky but were happily brought back to Oregon. I feel proud to work at such an amazing office. My goal is to provide the best care for patients alongside the Tolman team. When Im not at work I enjoy hiking, playing competitive games and trips to the Oregon Coast! My husband and I welcomed our daughter, Piper, in April 2019 and have loved seeing her grow. '

Tolman Dentistry has a professional but friendly atmosphere with a caring staff. Due to my bad back, an effort was made to help me be as comfortable as possible, resulting in very positive experiences on each of my two visits. And Amanda did a great job cleaning my teeth, (which were quite overdue.) I highly recommend Tolman Dentistry.

Love this place! The hygienist is so nice and friendly, not to mention she does an amazing job. Everyone is nice. The office is pretty inside and clean. I always leave smiling and feeling great. Glad we chose them to take care of our dental needs. I highly recommend them

All the personnel in Dr. Tolman's office are kind and gentle people who are very good at what they do. Dr. Tolman is kind and gentle and has been instrumental in helping me keep my teeth and gums in good health.

Great Dentist and staff been with Dr. TOLMAN for over 10 years. I had a set of the worst teeth and was embarrassed, now I got caps and implants looking good! Anymore a visit just feels like I'm just hanging out with my friends that I see a couple times a year!

Dr. Tolman and his assistant Tammy were absolutely the best! I am usually terrified about going to the dentist, but Tammy has a very calming demeanor and I never got real nervous. Thanks Tolman Dentistry for taking care of me! I will definitely come back.

I previously went to a "chain dentist" in Albany who said I needed a lot of work, it would cost a lot of money and I could not alter the plan in any way. No one seemed to care what I thought. Dr. Tolman and his staff were courteous and thorough - they even asked about my fear level! They came up with a reasonable plan at a reasonable price and asked if I was OK with the plan. I would recommend Dr. Tolman to anyone who wants/needs a dentist, from regular checkups to serious dental work.

My daughter and I became new patients at Tolman dentistry in April 2022. They were very good with my daughter who is 5. She felt comfortable and was walked through every step of the xray and cleaning process so she was not scared or surprised. I had my appointment set up for another week. Due to multiple illnesses I had to reschedule at least 3 times. Tolman Dentistry was very willing to help work around that and eventually get a date settled. The patience of this practice was extraordinary. In addition to their customer service, their text and email notification system allows for text replies and you get a response from a real person in a very short period of time. This helped confirm or reschedule appointments with ease and without having to make phone calls during the work day.
