Dr. Camden Tokunaga graduated from Saint Louis High School and received his undergraduate degree in Public Health from the University of Colorado. He then attended the University of Missouri Kansas City, School of Dentistry to become a Doctor of Dental Surgery.
While he attended dental school, he was an Advanced Restorative Honors student and received the International College of Dentists Leadership Award when he graduated. His current memberships include ADA, HDA, Honolulu County Dental Society, Honolulu Young Dentist Group, Delta Sigma Delta (dental fraternity), and AGD.
Dr. Camden Tokunagas biggest inspirations in life are his parents, whoa are a huge reason why he decided to become a dentist. Despite being busy practice owners, they still had lots of time to spend with him and his seven siblings. It showed him that you can have a well-balanced lifestyle as a dentist. He was also inspired by the amount of community service they were able to do as dentists and he wanted to be able to do the same with his own career. The thing he enjoys most about his career is being able to participate in so many different volunteer events and provide dental care to those who cannot afford it.
He also thoroughly enjoys seeing/meeting patients that have been with his family practice for many years. Its so nice meeting patients that say they saw my parents ever since they were kids, and not only are they still with us, but they even bring their kids to see us as well. Dr. Camden Tokunaga strives every day to change peoples preconceived notions about dentists and make their visit as pleasant as possible.
Dr. Camden Tokunaga enjoys outrigger canoe paddling and enjoys paddling with others in his 2-man canoe. He has an unlimited movie theater pass with his mom and sister and loves going as much as possible with them. He also has a golden doodle that he trained himself and registered as a therapy dog with the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. Occasionally he will bring her to the Queens Medical Center in West Oahu to brighten up patients and staff members day. Sometimes youll even see her at the dental office to make your visit an even more enjoyable one!
Dr. Modesta Joji Gaerlan-Tokunaga was born in the Philippines and grew up in Carson, California. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California, and became a Doctor of Dental Surgery at Georgetown University.
Dr. Modesta Joji Gaerlan-Tokunaga has been practicing sinc e1987 in Hawaii. She initially opened a private practice in Waipahu, Hawaii with her late husband and relocated to Ewa Beach and Wahiawa. She feels incredibly fortunate to have so many patients from her first office still come back year after year.
Dr. Modesta Joji Gaerlan-Tokunaga wanted to be a dentist ever since the second grade. She remembers when a dentist had come to her class to speak about dentistry, and she was so impressed. She knew right then what she wanted to do.
Dentistry has been a dream come true for me. Thats why I believe in community service and why I volunteer and do things such as going out to classrooms and speak to students about Oral Hygiene. I hope that maybe I can influence some of the kids to go into dentistry myself.
She loves being an advocate for her patients and enabling them to take charge of their own dental health. She considers herself to be a conservative dentist and strives to give an unbiased opinion so that patients are able to decide what they want to do themselves.
In her free time, she enjoys going to the movies with her kids and spoiling her Grand-DOGS with lots of treats. She has two children that are dentists: One that practices with me currently and another that is serving in the Army. She cant wait till my second child retires from the military and comes home so that she is able to take more time away from her practice and use her other daughters free flight benefits to travel all over the place!

I was really nervous to get my wisdoms removed but I know I needed to do it as soon as I can because my gums were in pain and I couldn't sleep or eat comfortably. But Dr. Tokunaga made my experience very fast and smooth. He made sure I got home with the medications I needed and he checked up on me to make sure my healing process was okay. He talked me through the whole process and it made me feel less nervous because I had some sense of control around me and I knew what to expect. Also I didn't have to pay for anything, only my Uber. I trust him with my teeth.

Tokunaga Endodontics, My name is Yvon Neri. I attended an initial appointment on Early this year with Dr. Camden Tokunaga for a standard root canal. During the procedure, a file broke off and was lodged within my tooth. This unacceptable and negligent service has caused me excruciating pain and discomfort. When I was told I would need to see a specialist by Doctor Tokunaga, he berated and cursed at me in front of my family especially my kids. After receiving minutes of verbal abuse he took the referral sheet from my hand, crumbled it on the ground and left screaming and cursing . This behavior from a licensed doctor is unprofessional and wholly unacceptable. Dr. Tokunaga also reached out to me multiple times in an unprofessional manner and can be heard crying on my voicemail. For over a month I had to wait to be seen by the specialist to determine if they could reverse the mistake and injury your office caused me. I had to see another doctor to receive pain management medication while I waited weeks to be seen by the specialist. Once I was finally seen by the specialist they informed me that they could not help and that I would require surgery. The Surgery costs over $3000. I was a patient of Dr. Tokunaga who as a physician was performing a routine procedure. Due to Dr. Tokunaga's negligence, I was left in pain, injured, with no answer on how I could be treated or what could be done to remedy the situation. Not only was I left with severe pain but also missed days off of work due to the pain and to attend necessary follow up appointments with other doctors.I will be forced to take all legal actions permitted by law to remedy and compensate me for any and all damages suffered.

This is hands down the best dental office I've ever gone to. I go here and my small children go here. The staff is friendly, but it's our dentist that is the happiest and most bubbly woman I've ever met! I have a lot of dental anxiety and she's so warm and happy that I always feel at ease around her. She has stickers for my kids and she's so knowledgeable and good at her job. I recommend this office to everyone I can.

I scheduled an Emergency appointment for a painful abscess, they were patient and kind. The operation was quick, pain free, took less than 4hrs to eat and have the swelling go down. Highly recommend!
