Dr. Jaw Dropper approaches the solution from looking at your body as a whole, rather than just the symptoms you are experiencing. Her holistic approach involves taking into account the connection between your teeth and the rest of your body by focusing on finding the balance in your body as the source of your relief. By looking at the big picture, she is able to create a tailored solution that takes care of your TMJ pain as well as your overall health.

When it comes to TMJ pain, its important to identify and diagnose the root cause. Many people try to remedy the surface level pain theyre feeling, but that is only fixing a symptom of the problem, not the actual problem itself. Dr. Jaw Dropper goes beyond just looking at your symptoms and instead focuses on diagnosing and addressing the core problem in order to develop the proper solution for you and your pain.

Your pain is individual to you, shouldnt your solution for relief be too? Dr. Jaw Dropper believes so! Each evaluation is focused on you, and each plan is then catered around your specific pain, and more importantly, your specific needs. With a variety of advanced solutions to choose from, you can find the relief you deserve with a solution that is right for you!

Gum disease is one of the leading causes of tooth loss. Gum disease has two primary stages. If diagnosed and treated in the first stage, the condition can be reversed and tooth loss can usually be prevented. In order to prevent gum disease, practice good oral hygiene and visit your dentist for cleanings and check-ups twice a year.

This stage only affects the soft tissue of the gums, and the patient may not experience any discomfort. Although the symptoms may be very mild, it is important to diagnose gum disease in this early stage before it progresses to periodontitis.

Periodontitis is the name for more advanced periodontal disease and if permitted to progress to this point, not only the gums are affected but the bone structures supporting the teeth will be compromised.

A build-up of bacteria causes Gingivitis. In its early stages, inflammation around the gums is observable, with gum tissues appearing red and swollen. Gums that are easily irritated or that bleed during tooth brushing indicate the presence of Gingivitis. Removal of the plaque buildup is necessary to prevent the development of gum disease.

As the gums become more inflamed, they start to pull away from the teeth, forming spaces known as periodontal pockets. Food, bacteria, and plaque begin to collect in the pockets, leading to infection. The surrounding bone becomes damaged both by bacterial toxins and by the immune systemsresponse to infection.

Finished my ortho treatment today for my sleep apnea and I couldn't be happier with the results. My teeth look awesome and I sleep better then ever. After a full night's sleep I wake up well rested instead of exhausted. Also I recently started having dreams while sleeping for the first time ever. Big thanks to Dr.Coats and staff they are the best.

I have completed the orthotics phase and have had a frenectomy under the care of Dr. Coats. Best decision I ever made was to begin her treatment recommendations! I am now in the orthodontic phase and excited for the opportunity to have the smile I have always wanted. The amount of improvement I have had in terms of pain reduction and quality of life from earlier phases is off the charts! My only regret is not finding this help sooner. Don't delay getting a consultation set up. You'll be amazed at what can be discovered and properly diagnosed. Finally getting to the source of my lifelong issues and having a treatment plan that works has been such a source of hope and joy! Dr. Coats and her staff are compassionate, methodical, organized, and skilled. Having a team to get to the root of it all is life changing for me. She takes the time to comprehensively diagnose issues and explain everything each step of the way. The absolute BEST TMJ Dr on the planet!!!

She is not worth my time to post the full nightmare i experienced in her office. In short, her path is greedy and disregards what is best for her patient.

It breaks my heart having to write a negative review, as Dr. Coats and her staff were extremely kind and professional; however, my overall experience was less than stellar due to feeling misled about my anticipated procedure to correct my jaw non-surgically. When I arrived my initial consultation at TMJ Plus, I inquired about the AGGA procedure after doing some research and finding an office not too far from me. Dr. Coats and I had a thorough discussion of my current jaw physiology and the limitations of this procedure. At the end of our conversation, we discussed the need for combination treatments such as wearing a day and night orthotic appliance, myofunctional therapy to improve my existing tongue thrust, a chiropractic specialist to improve my posture in relation to my jaw, and routine office visits to monitor my jaw function and airway in order to prepare me for the AGGA. For several months, I have been compliant and the improvement with my jaw range of motion appeared to progress accordingly. Any time I had a question or concern, or if any adjustments with my orthotic appliance needed to be made, I brought it to the office's attention and they were efficient in responding back quickly. I was very excited about my progress and felt all the money I was putting towards my treatments were going to be a great return on investment. Unfortunately, this excitement shifted to disappointment after my last visit at the office. I had an incident one morning when I removed my night time orthotic appliance, and my jaw began to lock unexpectedly, and I experienced the most painful sharp sensation to my lower face. I have never had any type of involuntary jaw pain prior to coming to TMJ Plus, so naturally, I was alarmed and notified the office immediately. I was not able to come into the office until the next business day, which was understandable; but after experiencing that incident, I began to question my treatment plan and kindly asked a few of the staff members when I was supposed to start my AGGA, and how long I was supposed to wear the orthotic? The medical assistant was not sure, but he brought Dr. Coats back to consult with me, and I was basically told that due to some of the limitation I had prior to coming to TMJ Plus, such as my K-wire inserted in nose from my past rhinoplasty procedure, that I was not an ideal candidate for AGGA. To my dismay, I felt all the money and time I spent preparing for the AGGA procedure was all for nothing, and the $10,000 I invested to prepare for this treatment went out the window. I was offered an alternative treatment that was supposed to be a little more conservative than the AGGA; but oddly, this treatment was quoted for $16,500 when the AGGA was quoted $13,500. In my opinion, it didn't make sense for me to pay $3000 extra for a treatment plan that was going to take longer than the AGGA would've taken to complete time wise, by wearing these "special" braces and appliances that were not guaranteed to give me the functional and aesthetic results I was desiring for my jaw. For months, I have tried to let this situation go and move on, but my gut could not take staying silent any longer. I just wish that if I wasn't truly a candidate for the AGGA procedure, that I was informed from the very beginning, so that I could make an informed decision and take it from there. If I was aware that AGGA was not the best treatment for me, I honestly would've pursued jaw surgery (which is literally the same price with my insurance) instead of coming here. Currently, I am still working on paying off the bills for this office for a treatment I am not a candidate for. I wish my experience at TMJ Plus was as life changing as others have expressed, but it is what it is and I am unsure if anything could be done to rectify my concerns. TMJ Plus is not a bad office whatsoever. I just was not an ideal match for this facility and I wish I had known sooner.

I had horrible, debilitating headaches related to TMJ issues. Within a week of implementing Dr. Coat's plan, the headaches lessened to such a degree that I no longer needed pain meds to manage them, and then a few weeks later I wasn't getting them anymore. The treatment plan also prevents further damage from affecting me in the future. Well worth it.

I saw Dr. Coats for the headaches and neck pain I had brought on by TMJ related issues. The tongue tie release was an amazing success and both have subsided as a result of her efforts. Dr. Coats and her staff were truly amazing, thorough, and precise with how the procedure would play out and what to expect afterwards. I highly recommend Dr. Coats for anyone thinking about having this procedure done in the future.

I'm so thankful for Dr. Coats and her staff! For over 10 years I've been telling my previous dentists that something felt off around a tooth that had a root canal performed on over 20 years ago. With her special X-ray technology, Dr. Coats was able to determine that the tooth DID have a cavitation infection, and she removed the tooth and infection this summer. Little did I know that having the tooth and cavitation removal would take away ALL of my facial nerve pain that I have been suffering from for many years. And, I've had ZERO reoccurrences of Shingles on my face. I'm now able to sleep at night and go through my days pain free! I can't wait to see how other chronic health issues will resolve by getting this infection out of my body. Not a fun process but certainly worth it! Thanks Dr. Coats and staff!

Went in to get a device to help me from snoring. Was effecting not only my rest periods but my Wife as well as it was waking her through out the night. Can't tell how happy I am with the device after 1 month of wearing the device. Wife says she hears no more snoring ftom me, and I know I am getting much better rest at night & do not wake up at all throughout many nights. Useful to wake 10 or more times at less. Very happy with Dr Coates & her delightful staff!

I originally sought Dr. Coats' expertise because I thought I had cavitations due to my wisdom teeth. Turns out I had a severe tongue tie. Dr. Coats' and her staff are very knowledgeable about their procedures and how to work with insurance. It took 6 weeks for me to prepare for surgery with speech therapy. Once I had the surgery, I was sleeping better, chewing and swallowing better, the lump in my throat (my tongue) was gone, and I could touch my toes without pain for the first time in a long time! I am so grateful to Dr. Coats' for correcting my tongue tie and giving me back a pain free life. While I am still seeing Dr. Gray, the osteopath, to help with muscle and spinal support, and Marcia, the speech therapist, for maintenance purposes, I am happy I went through with the surgery! Dr. Coats is amazing, you can trust her to be an honest expert that will steer you and your dental needs straight!

Try to charge you for everything. 25 for cleaning the room. 59 for cancer screening. Then they try to get you to buy 5000 mouth guards. Unethical.

Love the dental hygienist! She is amazing and my daughter and husband love it there as well. The staff is very nice and professional! Edit: The hygienest left which was sad, but we stayed going and put my daughter in braces. I was told that Dr Coats was very knowledgeable and cannot make any negative comments about how smart she is. What I will say is, that she is condescending and lacks in bed side manner. She also suggests one specific treatment and when you sign off, then changes the treatment plan. I know that teenagers are not 100% compliant, but Dr Coats makes it a point to belittle my daughter for having compliancy issues. So much so that she has resorted to fear tactics (telling her she will have to have her jaw broke later). In addition to that, she told us that because she is not as compliant as she wants her to be, that we should just remove the braces altogether because they are not doing anything and she cannot do anything else. If the treatment plan had not changed, I feel like we would be in a better position, but that is my opinion and I am not a trained professional. (Original treatment plan was to use expanders but she changed to not use them and now at the end, she is trying to use rubber bands to expand her bite.) She then stated that she will draw up an affidavit for us to sign that we chose not to finish treatment when she is the one suggesting it. We cannot sign an affidavit that we are ending treatment against medical advice, when she is the one who said she cannot do anything further. The rollercoaster that this doctor has put my daughter and family thru is outrageous and I do not recommend going to this doctor.

Since first getting my day and night time mouth appliances 3 weeks ago and using them as directed, I have noticed the following benefits: my neck alignment and my body posture has improved, my chewing has become easier with my improved jaw positioning, and I am sleeping better and waking up feeling more refreshed! I am looking forward to my future improvements and I am hoping for greater expansion of my very restricted airway! Dr. Coats, Chris, and the rest of her staff are very professional, helpful and kind! I will recommend this practice without question!
