Residency- and fellowship-trained in TMJ, orofacial pain disorders, and dental sleep medicine, Jason Pehling, DDS, MS, has a dental practice limited to the treatment of TMD, facial pain and dental sleep medicine at the TMJ Orofacial Disorders Center in Seattle. He specializes in temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ), orofacial pain, and dental sleep medicine.
Dr. Pehling is a Northwest native and attended the Bellevue Christian School where he was a two-time state wrestling champion. Dr. Pehling obtained an athletic scholarship and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Oregon. Additionally he received a Bachelor of Science and a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the prestigious University of California, San Francisco. Following that, he completed a Master of Science, an NIH sponsored Postdoctoral Pain Fellowship, and a residency in TMJ and orofacial pain from the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Pehling is board-certified by the American Board of Craniofacial Pain and the American Board of Craniofacial Dental Sleep Medicine. Dr. Pehling is a featured expert in the local and national media. Dr. Pehling was the first dentist in the Northwest trained in the use of the Biomet Ultrathin TMJ Arthroscope and the use of Botox injections for the treatment of bruxism and jaw and facial pain. In his over 20 years of clinical experience, Dr. Pehling has placed over 6000 functional oral appliances.
Active in his field, Dr. Pehling is a fellow of several prestigious organizations, such as the American Academy of Orofacial Pain and the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain. He is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, the American Dental Association, the Washington Dental Association, and the Seattle-King County Dental Association. He is on the board of Directors for theAmerican Board of Craniofacial Pain.

Dr. Gupta received her dental degree from Rajastan University. Following that, she completed her Master of Science and specialty residency in TMJ and Orofacial Pain from the University of Minnesota. She was a clinical instructor at the UCLA Orofacial Pain Clinic before joining the practice with Dr. Pehling.
Dr. Gupta has been published in the Journal of the American Dental Association regarding TMJ treatment. Dr. Gupta is a member of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain and the American Dental Association, the Washington Dental Association, and the Seattle-King County Dental Association.

Very knowledgeable staff helping me with a jaw problem, it has improved. I am recovering from brain surgery and the appliance and exercises have helped my jaw feel better with less cracking. I would highly recommend.

I have been a patient of the TMJ Orofacial Disorders Center for 3 years. The practice is always extremely clean. The receptiomists are excellent in making and changing appts. Staff that helps in the clinic rooms are able to explain the proceedures If I have more questions. His Associate is excellent also. Very thorough and suggests other splints if necessary.

Giving some credits for front desk as she was very helpful... however unfortunately this office would need to reconsider about accepting more patients with different kind of insurance. I cannot afford the out of my pocket because they would not accept my insurance plan. They have this exact treatment I need which my insurance WILL pay for but this clinic does not accept. The system is broken and left depressed as I couldn't get this treatment I needed promptly.
