I have been seeing Dr. Barron for many years. It's said that TMJ cannot be cured and Dr. Barron proves that to be false. My jaw used to pop when I ate or talked and Dr. Barron fixed that and my headaches dissipated as well. She is a genius and her staff is always friendly and helpful.

Dr. Barron is most knowledgeable. A relative recommended her years ago and she has been a true asset to my son and the quality of his ortho needs. I love her honesty and thorough diagnoses. She will ensure that you understand the treatment plan. I will recommend her over any orthodontist who just works to straighten teeth and not consider the full and proper functioning of the jaw and airway. She is the best in this area.

Dr. Barron's attitude is horrible and just like the other reviewer mentioned, her bedside manner is extremely poor. Someone else stated she only wants you to see the doctors she refers you to which is true, and she will not cooperate with the medical professionals you choose. Things were going OK with Dr. Barron early on in my treatment, but when I did not want to use the doctor she referred me to due to very poor reviews, she ignored me and continued to push me to see this doctor for surgery. She also uses scare tactics to get you to see her referrals. She told me that other ENT's would botch my surgery or black my eye. It was so unprofessional and unethical. This is where our relationship deteriorated and went sour. During the year or so that I saw Dr. Barron, I had two medical professionals contact her office on my behalf and they were not treated kindly. One was ignored after requesting a referral (Dr. Barron never contacted their office until I stepped in.) And her staff talked bad to the other office manager that reached out from my primary care doctor's office. The third doctor's office contacted their office for my test results and was ignored for almost a month. I chose to see other doctors because I was not getting much help from Dr. Barron when I knew she could have been of more help. You're probably wondering, "Why does she have so many good reviews in her current practice?" (Check out some older reviews when she was a dentist, not so great.) Dr. Barron practices what is referred to as Myofunctional Therapy (MT) despite not referring to herself as a MT. Most people who see her probably do not understand what that is, in the beginning, I was one of them. Most people don't have anyone to compare Dr. Barron to, so when they get some relief from their TMJ pain, they think she is wonderful and leave great reviews. They do not understand how much more relief they can get with other therapist that actually have weekly therapy sessions with progress checks vs. monthly with Dr. Barron and no progress checks. I also experienced some relief, but my issues extended far beyond TMJ as I also suffer from sleep disordered breathing. I could have benefited from seeing Dr. Barron for 1 on 1 Therapy sessions at least 1 time per week for several months. As far as MT, Dr. Barron is all we have in the Midsouth area for hundreds of miles and she will remind you of that repeatedly when you don't agree with the direction she takes you in. This is why she treats patients so poorly, because there are no other options for holistic TMJ treatment in the area. And if you refuse invasive surgeries that other TMJ doctors encourage, then you really have no choice but Dr. Barron. That was my issue for quite some time and is why felt like I had no choice but to put up with her "we are the only ones around" attitude, not to mention I had paid her in full despite not being done with my treatment. For a while I wasn't sure what I was going to do in terms of treatment, but I knew I had to find another therapist and quick. To make a very long exhausting money wasting situation short, I filed complaints against the office as they refuse to respond to me regarding my refund, despite me following their instructions to get my money back. I also filed complaints regarding refusal to provide medical records, referrals to my doctor of choice and ignoring my emails and calls for other medical record requests. Dr. Barron and certain staff members are ridiculous, and her treatments are not aggressive enough based on what I know about the industry and my experiences with her. Please do your research on MT if you are looking at her office for treatment. While there are no other offices, to my knowledge, in the area that handle Myofunctional issues, there are several therapists that do online sessions. Please do not make the same mistake that I did because I did not know much about MT in the beginning and I had no idea I had other less expensive options. Cathy Wine and Cristine Thomas are employees, they left 5 star reviews. Conflict of interest.

If you want to be scammed. ..go and sign the contract. Do your research and get another dentist opinion that you trust!

Dr Barron and her staff are a rare find that we are so thankful to have found! We have had nothing but a great experience on the road to our family breathing better, having straight teeth, and becoming healthier for life! They are all patient, friendly, understanding, honest and knowledgeable. Here are my children's thoughts.... "Mrs Nichole is nice. I want to rate her a billion stars!" Dr. Barren saved my husband from years of pain and suffering with TMJ that everyone else had said was untreatable. Now we have our four girls using myobrace to correct their teeth and to open up their airways better. They work with Nicole and she is so amazing with them!

At first I didn't go through with the treatment because the cost scared me so much. But my jaw pain got so bad I decided to go ahead and take that pricey jump. And thank God i did!!!! I have had jaw pain and locking sence I was a child but not anymore!!!! I have full range of motion with my jaw!!! I can eat any foods I want with out fear of my jaw locking up in pain. The results definitely are worth the cost!!!! The Staff was so amazing and explained everything to me. I always felt very cared for and they were always there if i had questions or anything. at all. Also, so many of my other body pains went away when my jaw was working properly and not hitting on nerves. I have had an amazing experience and I hope that anyone with jaw issues finds this amazing place because you don't need to go through life hurting anymore.

Before I went to the TMJ and Sleep Centre of Memphis I was feeling hopeless. I was having jaw, neck and ear pain. I went to my primary physician and my dentist but neither one could diagnosis what was wrong. So, I had to do my own research. I found the TMJ Centre of Memphis. I was skeptical at first but I went through the program for TMJ. They diagnosed me, addressed my sleeping and breathing. Dr. Melody Barron and staff are amazing. They are professional and caring. I'm proud to say I'm pain free and so very thankful that I found their office. I highly recommend TMJ and Sleep Centre.

Amazing experience overall, helped me get to the bottom of sleep issues I've dealt with for years after being wrongly prescribed CPAP. Staff is truly awesome!

I am a medical professional, an RN. I have never ever experienced such an unprofessional medical professional in my life. Dr Barron's bedside manor is so poor I literally was concerned that she didn't even have a dental license and was a fraud. I had to look her credentials up with the American Dental and I also contacted the BBB which she is not a member of. She would not listen to anything I said, it's like she was on autopilot with her spill of how everyone has sleep apnea and that's why they have tmj. I have significant medical issues that would explain her uncomfortable and awkward photos she takes of you before she sees you and then explains that all of your facial structure is from sleep apnea. It's a money scam. She is preying on human pain. She is also unwilling to work with any other medical professional except the people that she recommends. As a medical professional and Dr you must know your patients past medical and dental history In order to form an appropriate plan for that patient, which she did. Or and basically refused. What sent me over the edge was after I signed the "contract" and paid 1500 up front she instructed me to not use the splint that I had been using for months, literally told me she would not treat me if I continued to use it. As a trained dentist you would know that you cannot take away a splint that someone has been using for months. She gave me a plastic, 25cent mouth piece with saline bubbles to replace my intricate and detailed mouthpiece. The next day I woke up in extreme pain, face completely swollen and I went to the ER later that day to get Iv steroids to counteract the swelling. I called dr Barron that day to let her know what happened and she was completely defensive and said nothing was her fault and she was not going to be blamed for anything she has done. I have saved the voicemail she left me as well as recorded our conversation. As a medical professional that sent an alarm to my Bones and I immediately terminated care from Her. Very scary. I was afraid she would not refund my money and I even called my bank and was prepared to file a fraud purchase on my card. She refunded me the money but before she did she took out $250.00 for the plastic 25 cent mouthpiece she gave me. I have since seen Dr Adatrow and he has helped me soooo much, he is on the board of dentistry and let's just say that you can get the help you need minus Dr Barron's odd and unconventional practices. God bless the people she has helped but would they have been helped regardless and could save $9000.00. I plan on filing a grievance against this dentist. Beware of Dr Barron.
