We have been serving the city of Salinas and the Monterey Peninsula since 1962. Dr. Philip J. Lips and his professional team continue to treat patients with the most up-to-date technology available and with a kindness that makes every visit an enjoyable one.
Dr. Lips graduated from Saint Marys College, Moraga, in 1958 with a Bachelor of Science. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Southern California in 1962 and opened his first practice of General Dentistry in Salinas. A member of the American Dental Association since his student years at the University of Southern California, he taught in the dental hygiene program at Cabrillo College.
Since childhood, Dr. Lips has loved trains and has become both a history buff, regarding railroads and a master builder of model trains. He enjoys spending time with his family, especially his two young grandsons Nick and Christopher, with whom he shares his interest in trains. He has also appeared locally as a character actor with the Western Stage. He is fond of music and enjoys being a choral singer. A lover of birds, he has a bird bath and feeders visible from his dental operatory.

Transferring from a big office that looked like an assembly line of dental chairs to a smaller office, I felt special. I wasn't rushed or made to feel like I shouldn't ask questions. The gadgets and technology they have are amazing! Staff communicate well and are kind, professional. Dr Sreis is great!

Dr. Sami Sreis is very good. He considers patient's views and lays out all the treatment options. The implant and bone grafting process was done with great care and attention. The staff, particularly Margarita Diaz and George, were extremely professional and welcoming. Margarita went through the treatment options and explained everything in great detail.

Speaking from someone who is always having anxiety issues when it comes to the dentist...unfortunate past experiences. These guys have crafted a relational community that not only calms the nerves but allows you to feel at peace in the middle of bigger operations (like implants) as well. Love these guys and I most definitely refer people to them.

I must say I love coming here, I am your typical person who is or was afraid of coming to the dentist, the staff is awesome so welcoming. I love that they were able to do my crown right there and then and didn't have to come for a second visit. I would totally recommend this place 9/10/2020. My kids and I enjoy going to TLC Dentistry. We always feel welcomed and the office is always clean. Dr Sami is really good about explaining things and working with us with a plan we are comfortable with. George is really good at answering text when we need an appointment.
