Dr. Krstal K. Thompson was born and raised in Philippi, West Virginia where she graduated with honors from Philip Barbour High School and obtained her Bachelors Degree in Biology from Alderson Broaddus College. Dr. Thompson chose to remain in West Virginia to attend West Virginia UniversitySchool of Dentistry, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. She then completed an additional six years of training with a General Practice Residency at WVU, Internship at WVU, and then surgical residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at WVU.
During her Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training, Dr. Thompson earned an outstanding reputation throughout the WVU campus for her excellent work ethic, excellent performance and patient care. She was awarded an Excellence in Trauma Surgery Award and a Cornerstone of Recovery Award from the WVU
Trauma Surgery Team and was an American Academy of Orofacial Pain Award Recipient. She also continues to return to WVU to Ruby Memorial Hospital to teach Advanced Trauma Life Support as an instructor.
Dr. Thompson attributes her remarkable success to the people who have supported her throughout herprofessional journey, from her parents who taught her to always work hard and encouraged her to bethe first in her family to graduate college, and to her husband of 19 years who has supported herthroughout their life together.
When not taking care of patients, Dr. Thompson enjoys spending time with her husband Ron in outdoor activities such as fishing, kayaking, and hiking. She and Ron can also be found at the local gym everyweekday morning gearing up for the day ahead.
The staff at TKR cant help but smile while at work because they know they help others smile easier and more often. With a combined 32 years of dental experience, the TKR staff each bring their own personality and professionalism to the office each day. They called me the day before because they needed to reschedule my appoint and switched the times on me. I thought my appointment was at 2:20 instead of 1:20 but I ended up coming in early. I was in there by 1:25 and went to check in. I told them I was early and she said actually you're late and we can't see you it's against our policy. I was 5 minutes late and they would not see me. The next time they can get me in is four months from now. Do not recommended going there.

I am absolutely blown away at how nice everyone was here. They made me feel so much better about my procedure as I was so nervous. They made sure I felt absolutely no pain. I definitely recommend them to anyone!

Wow, just wow. I just came from having three teeth pulled, or at least that's what they told me, and I just can't believe what a great experience it was. I want to go back and just sit in the waiting room and visit, that's how nice everyone was. If anyone is reading this and is contemplating oral surgery, look no further. Kyrstal and the crew are wonderful. Thank you everyone out there and happy birthday again, Jen. And thanks for sharing your cake.

I am a disabled vet and suffer from horrible PTSD. I needed to find an oral surgeon who would understand and take care of me and my anxiety while treating me for an infection I had. From the time I made my first phone call I was treated with respect and understanding. My Doctor was awesome. She took her time and treated me like a family member. I had my procedure done and did have some anxiety but it was treated in the office with care and respect. Because of the way I was treated I ended up not even needing pain medication. I can't thank the team at TKR enough for the care and understanding they gave me. I will be following up with them for more treatment and know that I will be treated right. The kindness they showed me can never be appreciated enough. I would recommend this provider to anyone needing care. Thank you Doctor Thompson for all you did. And thanks to your team for all of your kindness. You guys rock!!!!!

I left mountain state oral in state of panic, I called TKR and begged for an appointment and I'm glad I did! They are friendly, professional and reliable even after wisdom tooth removal. I am forever indebted to them because I have never had such a good experience. I wish I could get all my dental work done with them! I recommend everybody to them.

My 13 year old son Brody had 4 permanent teeth removed to start the process of braces. We have seen several oral surgeons in the past BUT I can not say enough about the care, compassion and knowledge of Dr Reynolds. He went above and beyond with his care and aftercare to ensure Brody was handling any pain and to make sure we didn't have questions. I also observed his staff helping to ease the mind of an elderly lady whose husband was having a procedure! Thank you to all the staff!

My daughter needed a wisdom tooth removed. She was having extreme anxiety and panic over it. She visited a couple other oral surgeon's in the area and never felt completely at ease until she met with Dr. Thompson at TKR Oral Surgeons. She came back from her first consultation with hope. She said they listened to her and comforted her. She told me this would be the place to pull her tooth. Well today it happened and she couldn't be more happier with the experience. I personally would recommend Dr. Thompson and her team after seeing the transformation my daughter went through. From sheer terror to utter elation. She told me she can't wait to go back and have her last wisdom tooth removed. Thank you TKR for taking care of her! Much respect to you and your whole team!

I've known for a while that I needed to remove my lower wisdom teeth....but at 48 years old, it was a daunting task. I would say my anxiety and fear ranked about 100/100. I couldn't sleep at night, cried, even went to the hospital thinking I was having a heart attack. I found Dr. Thompson and her wonderful staff online and decided to give them a visit. They were warm, caring, funny....but most of all, they listened to me. They helped calm my fears and took the best care of me as if I truly was family. With their help, I finally worked up the nerve to get one of my wisdom teeth pulled....and what a fun time it was. That's right....all that fear and anxiety....and it ended up being a fun time. I can't recommend this team enough! Dr. Thompson, Mandy, Jennifer and the rest of the gang, they are the best. If you are having fears or reservations about some much needed dental work, contact these folks and they will get it done. From feeling like I was having a heart attack over anxiety to now knowing it isn't a big deal at all, I cannot wait to go back and get my other tooth removed. Thanks TKR! I love you all!!!
