Timothy Johnson, DDS Dr. Timothy K. Johnson purchased the Bryan, Texas, dental practice of Dr. James Moffitt in June 2016. A few months later, Dr. Moffitt retired, ending approximately 25 years of excellent dental service at this practice. The practice has been renamed TJ Family & Implant Dentistry. Dr. Johnson provides a wide array of dental procedures, including exams, fillings, extractions, dentures, partials, Invisalign aligners, bleaching, root canals, periodontal procedures, endodontic procedures, and as stated in the practice name implants. His philosophy is to provide the best care for each patient just as he would provide his own family and friends.
Dr. Johnson grew up in nearby Huntsville and earned his undergraduate degree in computing science from Sam Houston State University before attending the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2013. He then furthered his training at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine Knoxville, working in a private practice affiliated with the university hospital. He greatly expanded on his expertise during the year-long residency.
In his free time, Dr. Johnson enjoys swimming, movies, building computers, reading and spending time with his family and friends including his two cats! He is also an Eagle Scout and has occasionally served in adult leadership positions and taught various merit badges.

I am a new patient of Dr. Johnson and TJ Family & implant Dentistry. I learned of them from my sister and mom who are long time patients. He removed a painfully tooth and attended to a few fillings. The staff were great, made me feel right at home and could not have been any nicer. I have had a lot of dental work done over the years. Dr. Johnson took his time, explained what needed to be done and gave a detailed plan of what needed to be done in the future. He was gentle and made sure I was in no pain. I felt right at ease from the moment I sat in his chair to the time he was finished. I drive from the east side of Houston which is a long ways and plan to keep using them. I highly recommend that you give the TJ Family a chance for all your dental needs!

This is the best dentist ever. He's very thorough, meticulous and does a wonderful job. His staff are wonderful also! So nice and very helpful , most down to earth staff. I will definitely make this my permanent dentist. They all deserve a 10 star instead of a 5 star. Everyone really needs to come and try this dentistry!

It was a nice place. They were so nice. I talk a lot but they were patient. I think I will learn to not be afraid of dentist. I had one that caused a lot of pain. I think this one will be good at what he does.

I paid after each visit but they still send me bill to claim for more money. The price they offered for root canal/crown is 2x higher than the price quoted from a dental clinic in Houston (both are after insurance). That's why we choose not to do the rest of dental work at this place, which proved to be the right decision. They deceive me to believe my out-of-pocket cost is low and after I made payment at the clinic, they send me bill a few months later to claim for more money. Update 20/Aug/2021, still talk with them about the bill, the way how this dental office work is to do more items than your insurance covered but doesn't tell you. Hence when I talk with insurance company, they believe I owe more than what the dental office claimed from me. The dental office know they cannot claim all the money from you because they should not do the items not covered by the insurance (no idiot want to pay for uncovered items or unwanted service unless the insurance covered it), but the dental did. They don't have a good reasoning about doing service not covered by the insurance but charging you. But you still owe them money, so they mislead you to believe a bill calculation they figured out. Theoretically speaking, even if I paid them the amount they want, if the amount doesn't match the amount the insurance company calculated, there is still space for the dental office to charge me again. The other dental offices I visited across these 8 years in US don't charge me afterward.
