  • Hello, my name is Dr. Rocky Anderson and I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to serve the dental needs of Columbus and its surrounding areas. I graduated from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2015 and had practiced on the west side of Indianapolis until joining Dr. Bartels at Tipton Lakes Family Dentist.

    Much time has been devoted to continuing education through hands on workshops, seminars, self study, and guidance from experienced mentors in order to provide the best care possible for my patients. However, the best care is only accomplished when someone feels comfortable and heard.

    Tipton Lakes Family Dentistry has a very nice group of people working for them. Their service is beyond any I have ever experienced. Everyone is very upbeat and positive, from the greeting you receive to all the service given it is very professional.

    The service was extremely efficient and streamlined. The staff was friendly, courteous, and professional. The experience was thorough without the waiting. I was in and out fast! And my mouth was feeling fresh!

    I would like to get a hold of Dr. Bartels to share some feedbacks from a patients perspective, but was told I can't have Dr. Bartels own work email but to only use the office email. I sent an email on Aug 11 with no response. I sent another follow up today let's see if Dr. Bartels will get back to me. Will update my comment as how it progress.

    My family trusted this dentist for years. I'm not sure if they've had high turn-over of employees or what but we have really struggled with them this past year. Appointments were cancelled and we weren't notified. Then when we showed up they were shocked to see us. The staff was rude to us in person and on the phone. My son's appointment was cancelled 3 times by them. We finally went to another dentist. After our evaluation at the new dentist, all of us have cavities that were over-looked, need crowns and root canals. Several things were over-looked for too long so now they're almost damaged beyond repair &/or it will cost us a lot of money and time at several appointments to get everything taken care of. I myself had to have a root canal, 2 crowns, and 2 fillings. My son who generally has good teeth, no braces, only 1 cavity his whole life (27 years) now needs a root canal, a crown and 2 fillings. My husband has an appointment with this new dentist and I fear that he will find out the same thing. I tried several times to make a phone call appointment with Dr. Bartels to discuss these issues and the staff repeatedly told me he cannot do phone appointments. The only way I could speak to him personally was by scheduling an in-person appointment so I did. The staff treated me horrible because they knew the reason for my visit and Dr. Bartels actually argued a bit with me negating the fact that I had actually visited another dentist until he called and could view my records. I was told I would not be charged for this 'discussion appointment' and I was. My sister and her family and my mother left this practice years ago and warned me to do the same but I didn't; I remained loyal to Tipton Lakes Family Dentist seeing Dr. Bartels for 2 visits a year for several years. I really was loyal to this practice for many many years and put my trust and health of my teeth in Dr. Bartels' hands. To say I'm extremely disappointed is an understatement.

    We have been going here for about 6 months, and they have been amazing every time. 6 months sounds like a short amount of time, but we have had everything from tooth extractions, to check ups to fillings. And the staff and dentist have been amazing every time.

    Had an appointment earlier this week at 11:50 AM. I sat for a few minutes and then was called and taken downstairs to have X-rays done as well as a few other measuring procedures. After a discussion my Hygienist told me they would reschedule for cleaning in two sessions to be determined at a later date. She couldn't clean my teeth because of the condition. Now it's around 12:40 pm and I was told the Dentist would be with me momentarily. However I sat in the chair waiting until approximately 1:25 pm and decided to leave. Noticed and then assumed everybody had gone to Lunch including Dr. Bartel whom I never saw or had the privilege of meeting. I'm actually amazed that I got this email to comment based on the recent visit by me. I'm old enough to tell it like I lived it. I waited a month for this appointment and still require the services of a Dentist .

    5 months after posting the review I got a message today from Dr. Bartels saying, "I'm sorry, but I can't find you in our current or past patients. I would love to hear of your concerns". Dr. Bartels, I have been a patient of yours since 2020. My next appt is scheduled for 4/13/22. Thank you for your follow up.

    My 6 year old had two cavities to fill. Dr. Barrels made the process painless and almost enjoyable. He sat back and watched Bluey while everyone helped to keep him distracted and they addressed the issue. The first appointment was so smooth that he was not at all nervous about the second appointment. The whole process was smooth and I'm so happy that my son has no fear of the dentist, but mostly associated the experience with the little toys he gets after each visit. I would definitely recommend Tipton Family Dentist.

    Great visit today with my children (8, 5, & 2). Whitney was excellent with helping them all feel comfortable. The kids room wall very fun for them. They were nervous beforehand and were excited about the dentist visit afterwards! Front office staff and Dr. Bartels were great as well.

    Let me preface this by saying that I read through the Google reviews for this office and selected it because not only do they have great reviews but Dr. Bartels actually reads them and defends his staff when necessary on the occasional negative one. Although I did get a laugh out of a couple responses, in all seriousness an employer who goes to bat for his employees is worth gold. So I made the appointment and it was the right decision. I spoke to Shelby in the office who was friendly and prompt. Sara, my hygienist came to get me and immediately did x-rays and sat me down to explain everything she would be doing. The cleaning was so gentle and thorough and she was wonderful about checking on how much I'd have to pay out of pocket for anything. She was fun and friendly and I enjoyed talking with her. Dr. Bartels was also very easy to talk to, friendly, and thorough. He took time to explain everything he was doing and why, listened to my concerns and even gave me insight into an issue with clenching my jaw and worked out a plan to help with it. The office felt light and airy and full of good energy. I highly recommend this office!

    I hadn't gone to the dentist since I was a kid. I was nervous to go but everyone was SO nice and made me feel comfortable. Sara, one of the hygienist, and her assistant, Ash-lee, was understanding and super sweet. I really recommend going here.

    The most thorough and gentle cleaning I have ever had. The hygienist was very knowledgeable, kind, and efficient. Dr. Bartels examined my teeth after the cleaning and answered all of my questions. I left feeling great.

    Routine dental cleaning was performed by Sara. She was pleasant and competent. Dr. Bartels is an excellent and innovative dentist. He and his staff make the necessary dental visits less painful. He has been our dentist for 13 years.

    I'm extremely happy after my first visit to TLFD. Dr. Bartels and his team were very friendly and welcoming. I'm embarrassed to say that I have quite a lot of work to be done. During my visit, Dr. Bartels and his team really took their time to explain what I needed to have done and why. I walked in very embarrassed and self conscious but left with a sense of hope and a treatment plan to restore my smile, health, and self esteem. It feels like I have a long road ahead but I'm confident that I've made the right choice. So if you're searching for a new dentist then I highly recommend you give Tipton Lakes Family Dentist a try.
