Dr. Tinhan has finished the interceptive phase for my son (now 12) and has just started on my daughter (7) for treatment. They love him and don't have a single complaint! My son and I are totally happy with the way the treatment worked out (crowding correction). We haven't had any problems scheduling in the Hawaii Kai office, especially if problems arose. Disclosure- I'm a practicing dentist but I wholeheartedly trust Dr. Tinhan with my kids and patients.

We love Dr. Tinhan and his team. Both of my kids had braces with him. The office locations are very convenience both of them are inside malls with plenty of parking. Check in very easy with Sarah or just click the touch screen. The wait time is minimal, on rare occasion when you have to wait Dr. Tinhan have plenty of gameboys for the kids. He is a professional and always give you a straight answer. We had been with him for over 3 years and had great result with both our kids. If you need an orthodontics he is one of the best in town.

This alleged doctor (more like a car salesman) lied to my face, sidestepped my questions, and did so with zero remorse. He scoffed at me when I asked a reasonable question (why he was hiking the price up on me) and then walked out on me...can you imagine that? Let me explain... I had needed a very simple and easy job done - to replace a small teeny tiny rod (permanent retainer) behind my 2 front teeth. The receptionist got the quote directly from him - it was $100-$200 - and I knew what was going on. They wanted to secure my appointment and secure my business....I accepted the probable reality that I would pay $200 and booked the appointment. To be honest, I was quite happy with the price anyway. So I go in and despite being explicitly clear about what I wanted done...I'm put through the whole process as if I'm going to get braces. They took all the "before" photos (approximately 8 of them) and after its done Mr. TinHan comes in and proceeds to tell me why I would benefit from braces, invisalign, and a traditional plastic retainer - all more expensive options and 2 of them exceeding the quote of what I had ASKED FOR BY 1000%!!!! So he sends in his receptionist to talk about "options and prices" (the ol "good guy bad guy routine" and she tells me the price is now $250 for the procedure that I wanted all along. Yes...$50 more than the quote from the day before. I wanted an explanation. I felt bad for her...she was just trying to do her job and she knew this guy was just trying to squeeze a few extra bucks out of me for no reason at all. ------------------------------------------------------------------ I simply wanted an EXPLANATION and I was TOTALLY POLITE the whole time. Its not much to ask, right? What factor...what variable was causing the rise in price? What "curve ball" could there have been? The dude is literally removing a teeny tiny metal rod and gluing a new one in its place. I knew it was a joke...but remained calm and just kept asking for a reasonable explanation. Mr. HinMan comes back and has now become very condescending in his attitude and demeanor. He cuts me off and says "the price is the price." He then SCOFFS at me and says he was "actually doing me a favor because he "COULD" charge me for both the removal and the replacement separately" - completely sidestepping the question and being a total **** in the process. I continued to press him and he said "I'm done with this" and walks away. Have you ever had a DOCTOR walk out on you? I didn't serve my country overseas so that people like him could attain a license to exploit our own people legally and then have the audacity to lie about it to our faces. ------------------------------------------------------------------- For the record, Mr. TinHan...I always knew why the price had changed. I just wanted to hear you say it. *You either wanted to ensure that I'd commit to the appointment and knowingly lied to lure me there... OR *Upon reviewing my papers you thought you could get more money out of me (was it my home address...I wonder?) *It was also totally empty in there...and you only operate out of this location two times a month??? Hmm...is business that bad? To those of you that read this review...stay away from this guy. If he is willing to behave like this over such an insignificant amount of money the man CANNOT be trusted.

Dr. Tin Han has the best orthodontic care in hawaii by far. When I got braces, I was instructed on how to take care of my teeth and my braces responsibly. In other words, how not to damge them. The procedure to have braces installed was fast and quick, with minimum discomfort. After the installation, I was given tips on how to reduce the amount of pain from the sudden tightening sensation on my teeth, and they helped. Every so often you come back to the office to get your braces adjusted or to make specific changes to your mouth to give you the straightest, most aligned smile you will ever see. During these check ins, you can also have the color of your brackets that cover your wires changed, from teal to magenta or almost any color you can think of. I would reccomend Dr. Tin Han to anyone looking for a reliable orthodontist to recieve braces.
