Much of my childhood was spent taking things apart and putting them back together. This engineers curiosity has been the key to my enjoyment of the profession of orthodontics. Each treatment is a challenge, putting the pieces together in proper form to achieve something as beautiful as a smile.
I find great satisfaction in improving the lives of people, individually and collectively, and greatly appreciate the people who come to our orthodontic office. Each patient who entrusts their treatment to me is a friend and they will get my best effort, no matter what. My orthodontic patients are truly the best! They are, if not all young, at least, young at heart.
My career in orthodontics began far before I even entered dental school. When I was 14, I worked part time for a local orthodontist in Idaho Falls until I graduated from high school. I was trained to make study models, retainers, and other lab appliances. This experience gave me, at a young age, invaluable skills and exposure to the career that I ultimately chose.
As a dedicated learner, I regularly participate in numerous forms of continuing education to learn about the most current techniques and materials available in orthodontics. This includes advanced study on sleep disorders, temporary anchorage devices, and the treatment of bite problems that damage the teeth and TMJ.
I consider myself a father and husband who happens to practice orthodontics. My wife, Paula, and I have raised five wonderful children who are now finding their own ways to make a difference in the world. I consider myself an inventor at heart so when Im not in the office, I can be found studying things from medieval machinery to the latest orthodontic technology. In the summer, I enjoy fishing and playing golf, and in the winter I ski and go snowmobiling.
Being involved in community service makes life more meaningful. I am a volunteer leader in my church and am active in the Meridian Kiwanis Club. I have also been a scout leader for most of my adult life.
A native of Boise, Dr. Travis Tingey graduated from Centennial High School while spending several summers working in his fathers orthodontic lab. Through that experience, he discovered a love and a talent for working with his hands and decided to pursue a career in the dental field.
Dr. Travis went on to complete his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University and was then accepted to the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. He graduated at the top ofhis dental class and received several awards and distinctions before receiving his Doctorate of Dental Medicine.
Following dental school, Dr. Travis completed his orthodontic residency at the University of Oklahoma where he was trained in the latest techniques and materials available. Although his educational journey has given him wonderful experiences all over the country, he is thrilled to be back in his hometown serving the people of the Treasure Valley.
Dr. Travis and his wife, Beth, have one baby boy and live for the great outdoors. Leisure time in the Tingey family usually involves rock climbing, camping, kite boarding, mountain biking, volleyball, playing guitar, or watching BSU Bronco sports.
Im extremely grateful to be a part of a profession that changes lives. There is nothing more gratifying than being able to give patients beautiful smiles and the confidence that comes with them. My patients satisfaction is of the highest importance to me and Im committed to providing my best treatment to everyone who entrusts us with their care.

Ive made all our patients orthodontic appliances and study models. I am a perfectionist and enjoy knowing my craftsmanship is helping people achieve and maintain beautiful smiles. In my free time, I enjoy all outdoor activities Boise has to offer, including mountain biking, skiing, hiking, and camping. I also enjoy playing the guitar and spending time with my daughter, who attends Boise State University.
My favorite part of my job is meeting with our new patients and helping them navigate through their financial options to meet their individual needs. I enjoy getting to know our patients, along with their families, and sincerely enjoy what I do. As an orthodontic patient here myself, I can attest to Dr. Tingeys gentle touch and highest commitment to excellence in patient care.
I married my high school sweetheart, Dennis, and we have two married daughters and three grandchildren. We love doing fun family activities around Meridian, and I am enjoying my new role as Grandma. Its absolutely the best!!!
Its been a lot of fun working here over the past 19 years and I cant imagine a better orthodontic team! We all enjoy working with our patients and providing excellent orthodontic service, always with a smile of course!
Ive been happily married to my best friend, Carl, for 17 years. We are busy raising our four boys who are very active in Treasure Valley sports. When we get the chance we also love vacationing on the Oregon coast.
I have a background in general dentistry as a dental assistant as well as some orthodontic sales experience, which led me back to working in the orthodontic field. I also love coordinating all marketing events for Dr. Tingeys office. If ever you see me out and about, feel free to say, Hi!
Last but not least, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two amazing stepsons. I also have a baby girl Miakoda who was born in August of 2014! We enjoy going to the movies, swimming at the many Boise lakes and swimming holes and BBQs with family.
The best part of my job is getting to know each patient individually and being able to assist with Dr. Tingey, as well as the other team members, in making sure every patient has a great experience in our Boise and Meridian office.
