Dr. Chung, born in 1968, is a native of Taiwan. Growing up in Alabama and California, she enjoyed painting, drawing, and building models and crafts. Raised in a scientific family, she realized that she wanted to pursue a career that would incorporate both of these loves, art and science.
Her introduction to orthodontics was at the age of 8 when she received a retainer for minor treatment from an orthodontist who was a friend of the family. During high school, she realized that she wanted to make orthodontics a career goal and proceeded toward that path.
In 1989, after three years of college at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, she was awarded the prestigious honor of enrollment into the Early Admissions Program at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. She combined her final year of college with the first year of dental school in one rigorous program that would enable her to reach her dream a year sooner.
In dental school, Dr. Chung was appointed to a number of academic administrative committees and was heavily involved in dental research. She won many awards in dental research and in academics, at both the dental school and national levels, including The Quintessence Publishing Companys Award for Excellence in Dental Research, the Dr. Leon H. Schneyer Memorial Award for Excellence in the Dental Basic Sciences, an American College of Dentistry Award for Research Presentation, an American Dental Association/Dentsply Corporation Student Clinician Award, and election to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society.
While Dr. Chung enjoyed and gained much experience with her academic involvement in dental school, she realized that being able to connect personally with patients on a daily basis gave her the greatest pleasure. She found an artistic passion in being able to transform a patients life and confidence level by providing a beautiful and healthy new smile and facial appearance through orthodontic treatment. Dr. Chung completed her orthodontic residency in 1996 and received her master of science certificate in the same year.
Dr. Chungs passion for life, art, and diverse cultures brought her to the tri-state area in 1996. She resides in Bergen County with her husband Julian and their three dogs: Maggie, Mocha, and Spot. Her other interests include reading and practicing yoga.
Other affiliations and accomplishments include membership in the American Association of Orthodontists, membership in the New Jersey Dental Association, and active participation in the Passaic County Dental Society. She serves on the Board of the Clifton Boys and Girls Club. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. She is Invisalign and Invisalign for Teens certified, as well as iBraces certified.

My experience with Dr. Chung has been nothing short of amazing. All three of my daughters are her patients. She is the kindest, most thorough and precise orthodontist. All of the staff are fantastic. One of my daughters got her braces off today after about 4 years and the results are outstanding. It was well worth the wait we could not be happier. Dr. Chung is the best!!

Dr Chung is amazing! Very talented in her profession. From day one with both our kids we were treated as if we were her only patients. Compassionate, respectful and extremely knowledgeable is how I would best describe her and her staff. She made herself available for even those emergent visits! Dr. Chung and her staff are amazing, this is our fourth child going to her and that should say it all. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and Dr. Chung goes above and beyond to make sure you and your child are happy. She answers all your questions and concerns and is always there when you need her. We highly recommend Dr. Chung to anyone who's in need of a orthodontist, as the results have been fantastic.

Dr. Chung is the best. Her staff is extremely professional. I had braces in my 50s and the results were great. I wish I went to her earlier. The orthodontic services Dr. Chung's practice provides is not just for children or young adult. They made me feel very comfortable through the entire process.

Dr. Chung & her staff are amazing! She did a great job with my oldest son and his orthodontic work. Now we are onto son#2 and it's going excellent as well. The office staff is nice, professional and very efficient. Don't look any further !

My daughter has only begun her journey but after relentlessly trying to find a good ortho we found Dr. Chung. She is simply brilliant and the office and staff are pleasant and well-informed. I've never had more confidence in a doctor as I do in Dr. Chung and we only just began. I highly recommend her!!!!!

If you want the best results, this is the orthodontist for you! She is a true artist and has the eye to make small adjustments that would elude someone less skilled. Her staff is wonderful. The office runs at the highest professional level. Don't settle for less.

Dr. Chung did an excellent job when I needed braces. She clearly explained all treatment options and worked with me to devise the right plan that fit my needs. I currently have permanent retainers and her office was available to help when I needed an adjustment.

Ok, seriously a great doctor! She is: -attentive -transparent -caring -fair and reasonable -knows her stuff down to the T (she quotes specific figures and measurements sometimes! .... like woah!) -studies and is up to date with current medicine and technology -really cares about her business and customer service -her staff is happy and therefor you have a good experience **my detailed experience** -I needed braces as an adult at 30 yrs old! She took me in and did an extensive consultation. She took the time and drew up a payment plan for me (which we reviewed at the next visit because it's impossible to review my chart, x-rays and all of the other stuff in one visit). -I spoke to her about gum surgery (high-smile surgery); although she doesn't do this procedure she wanted to speak to my other doctor and wanted detailed information in term of when and how the procedure will be done. -She pretty much did a lot of hand holding with me and went above and beyond to make sure I am comfortable and happy with my smile. She also made other suggestions which I am considering too. -Finally and importantly, she is such a sweet person! Worth every penny!

Dr Chung and her staff are amazing! They are super organized, efficient, and so good at what they do. The office is bright and cheerful and I liked the open concept of the treatment area. I did Invisalign and they coached me throughout the process. I am finally done after 2 years. I have them to thank for my new beautiful smile!

Dr. Chung is nothing short of amazing! Her extensive knowledge and experience with my difficult jaw situation has given me the smile I've always envisioned and restored my confidence Immensely. Her staff is attentive and always willing to help you when needed. Dr. Chung has absolutely improved my quality of life due to her patience, kindness, and genuine care for all of her patients. The office is always so accommodating as the drive to her office is far and long for us and we always appreciate it. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Chung and her team. They are excellent, I highly recommend them. She has straightened the smiles of both my children and myself!! The office is inviting and you are always greeted by name with a smile. Don't look any further for an Orthodontist, you won't find better.
