Dr. OConnor grew up in San Bruno, California.He attended the University of the Pacific in Stockton, Ca., graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology, and a minor in Chemistry in 1985.He then continued on to UOP School of Dentistry in San Francisco, where he earned a Doctorate degree of Dental Surgery in 1985.
Dr. OConnor began practicing as a general dentist in San Jose until 1997, when he had the very fortunate opportunity to move to and practice in the town of Murphys, California, where he has been serving his community ever since.Although Dr. OConnor enjoys advanced dentistry, including implant and cosmetic dentistry, he strives to provide all aspects of dentistry in a professional manner.
Dr. OConnor is an active member of the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association since 2005. He has been chosen to be an exclusive member of the California Peer Review System and has served on the Board of Directors for the San Joaquin Dental Society.Dr. OConnor is also a member of the Academy of Laser Dentistry and a graduate of the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Esthetic Dentistry.He has been a long time sponsor of many local community organizations such as The Calaveras Youth Mentoring Program, The National FFA Organization, 4H Youth Development Program, Feeney Park Foundation, Murphys Irish Days, and many American Cancer Society Relay For Life and Calaveras Grape Stomp Teams.
On a more personal level, Dr. Tim OConnor has some old family ties to Murphys.His grandfather, Dr. Thomas OConnor, was a physician and the director of the Bret Harte Sanatorium for the treatment of tuberculosis in the 1930s.It has been quite an experience to have actually worked on some of my grandfathers patients and co- workers. states Dr. OConnor.Tim OConnor met his wife, Vicki, while she was in dental hygiene school and they married in 1986.Vicki is a registered dental hygienist and works in the family practice.They have one daughter, Katie, who is currently obtaining her Masters at University of Pepperdine.

What a great time at the dentist. I don't usually like to go, but I love having my teeth cleaned. Shelby always does such a great job. Love the staff. Everyone makes you feel so welcome and loved.

Dr. O'Connor and his staff are a cut above any other dentist/dental office I've ever gone to in the past. His office was recommended to me back in 1999 when I first moved to the area. The quality of care they consistently provide is so far above any other provider I've ever seen, it is difficult to compare. I have lived in Los Angeles and San Diego counties where I had many, many options for dentists, but would travel to this area for my dental care if I ever decided to leave the area. At my last visit, I had a young, new hygienist due to the retirement of the one I had had for the past 20+ years and admit I was a little nervous about seeing someone new. But she was excellent and obviously well trained. The training of his staff is clearly a high priority, as I've only had great experiences there. I would recommend this dentist and his staff to anyone who wants to be able to trust they are getting the highest quality of care possible. They are friendly, professional, and caring.
