Dr. Mark Sheils graduated from University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1994 and has since served as a dentist in the Fargo area for 18 years, providing patients with comfortable, personalized care. His educational path to dentistry involves an undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth, and it is furthered by his frequent CE courses in dental implants and restorative dentistry. After dental school, Dr. Sheils completed a general practice residency program at the University of Minnesota and instructed part time at the Minnesota State and North Dakota State College of Science dental hygiene programs. He is a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantology and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Sheils is more than just a dentist; he is passionate about providing dentistry for as many individuals as possible and is continuously extending his services beyond the walls of his practice. He contributes to the Donated Dental Services program, which provides free dental care to low-income and disabled patients. He is also an active member of the Air Force Reserves, and he has participated in humanitarian missions in the United States and around the world.
When not caring for smiles in and out of the office, Dr. Sheils can be found gardening, spending time at the lake, participating in any outdoor activity, working as a Boy Scout volunteer, providing a foster home for animals and duck hunting in the fall.

My experience here was ANYTHING but helpful. I went in with excruciating pain, and once he found out I was terrified of Dentists, he treated me extremely rude! ( I have several teeth already missing, because of bad experiences with dentists in the past, and because I was raising 3 kids alone on a very tight budget, not because I don't care about my teeth, or what I look like!) He scheduled me to have the teeth that are currently bothering me to be extracted, but I had to reach back out to him to see what he intended to do with me once they were removed. (Wouldn't a GOOD dentist try to reassure you, and attempt to take proper care you weren't treated in the same mannerisms, as in the past?) I asked if he could do a complete exam prior to my surgery in case others needed to come out, but of course I couldn't be scheduled until I was cleared from the place that's doing the surgery. Dr. Shiels was RUDE, wouldn't give me anything for the pain, (my face had a great deal of swelling and I was miserable!) and I'm still in disbelief that I had to be the one to reach out to him, for follow up. Needless to say I won't be going back, nor would I recommend anyone see this rude doctor who obviously doesn't care if you're suffering, or nervous!

I am so confused how there are so many positive reviews? I'm wondering if they have been long time patients or they're getting paid? The receptionist was very helpful, kind, and quick. However, the dentist was SO rude! Were new to north Dakota. I made our first initial appointments for March/April but there were two cancellations so the receptionist was able to put my husband and I in those spots day of. When I found out that they were out of network(my insurance said they were in network. They were the first on the list.) I felt hesitant to continue but I really wanted a cleaning so I said I would stay but to cancel my husband's appointment that was later at 1pm which I literally filled a cancellation spot two minutes prior.The dentist got so defensive and told me if I, "wanted to save five or ten bucks that he didn't want me anyway"! No joke. My insurance was only going to pay 60 percent of a cleaning and x-rays? How is that a couple bucks? I would understand the rude nature if I had booked these appointments in advance and cancelled but I was filling in for one of his patients that cancelled DAY OF. Seriously, he was the rudest person I have ever spoken with. I feel so uncomfortable and sad that someone I don't even know was so mean to me. I really would not ever recommend anyone to go here.

Timber Creek Dental is a down to earth dental office. They really seem to care about their patients, I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone seeking a good dentist!!

After reading a previous review regarding Dr. Sheils' rude nature, I got that vibe SUPER quick while trying to resolve an issue with my insurance. I'm just thankful I didn't give that weasel a chance to clean my teeth. There are other dentists much more deserving of my business.

I work for Nobel Biocare a Dental solutions Distributor. Dr Sheils and I have worked together on providing the best products and solutions for his patients. Dr Sheils works on continues education which provides great treatment options. Every conversation we have makes my day! If I lived in Fargo he would definitely be my Dentist.

Dr Sheils crowned me (twice!) this past summer! I had the best nap in the chair, and the biggest smile on my face AFTER the appt's were done. Mark is wonderful, the staff is great. Peace and peace of mind is what you breathe coming inTO the door, as well as out.
