Before your visit, we disinfect all of our equipment in a designated area with state-of-the-art sterilization technology. We also thoroughly sanitize each room between patients. Dr. Tim Chauvin grew up on the Westbank of New Orleans and graduated from Archbishop Shaw High School. Upon graduating, Dr. Chauvin received an academic scholarship to attend Tulane University. During his pre-dental studies at Tulane, Dr. Chauvin was inducted into the Phi Alpha Epsilon and the Randolph Gibson Honorary Societies. In 1997, he graduated with honors from Tulane with a Bachelors Degree in Cell and Molecular Biology.
Dr. Chauvin continued his education at LSU School of Dentistry, where he earned his DDS degree. While at LSU, he was named a Balridge Scholarship recipient for having one of the top five scores on the National Dental Board Exam and was also inducted into the C. Edmunds Kells Honorary Society and the very selective Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Honorary Society. Dr. Chauvin was further distinguished as the top general dentist in his graduating class and received such honors as the General Dentistry Award, the Excellence in Oral Diagnosis Award for treatment planning, and the American College of Dentists (ACD) Award for ethics and professionalism.
Dr. Chauvin practiced dentistry for two years in Raceland, LA, prior to opening his own dental office in Buras, LA. His practice thrived in Buras until August 2005, when Hurricane Katrina destroyed the office and the surrounding communities. After the hurricane, Dr. Chauvin began practicing in Lafayette, and what was originally a temporary relocation has happily become his familys permanent home.
Dr. Chauvin is a member of the Acadiana Dental District Association (where he served as Secretary), the Louisiana Dental Association (where he served in the Dental House of Representatives), the American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He also regularly attends continuing education classes to allow for the best patient care possible.
Dr. Chauvin has been married to his wife Jennifer since 2000, and they have two children, Jacob and Collin. He and his wife are excited to be in Lafayette and have found the residents to be warm and welcoming during their transition here. Despite the devastation and frustration that resulted from Hurricane Katrina, Dr. Chauvin and his wife have come to believe that it was actually a blessing for their family, and they are proud to call Lafayette home.

Staff is friendly, smiling, and very supportive and the office is always clean and welcoming too. I have never felt like "just a patient" here. Dr. Chauvin makes sure I understand what he is doing and why. Has really changed my entire expectation of what a dental experience should be. Highly recommended.

Best dentist I have ever been too, I am always to scared to go in but dr.chauvin always finds a way to make me feel better. He's super gentle and takes his time and makes sure you are comfortable. I have countless good things to say about him. He's the only person I will ever go to.

if I could put more stars I would. The staff there is absolutely wonderful and friendly, courteous. I have never been fond of going to the dentist, but Dr. Chauvin's office has changed that. I have had 2 teeth pulled and a periodontal cleaning and scaling and they made sure I was comfortable during he whole visit. They talk to you as they are doing the procedure to ensure that you aren't hurting and they do a little bit of explaining of what they are going to do. I absolutely love going there to get my smile back. I tell everyone who needs a GREAT dentist, to go there. 100% the best

Didn't even get to see them, my kids appointment was an hour apart and I was never told I couldn't go in with them and I wasn't told that we couldn't be early and it was 46 outside and the staff was not nice about it so we left.

Friendly staff!! Clean office. Calm atmosphere. My 7 year old son was never a fan of going to our previous dentist. It was always chaotic, loud, they sat him in a chair and just went to work. They never explained what they were doing to him. Just lay the chair back, which would catch him off guard and scare him, tell him open his mouth, brush, and send him on his way. The staff and Dr's at this office are great! They talked to him before anything. They explained what they were doing. They warned him before they laid the chair down on him. The continued to have conversation with him as they did what needed to be done. Now going to the dentist isn't such a big deal for him! Definitely recommend going to Dr. Chauvin and his staff!!!
